I love Mung and wouldn't trust my puppy with any other grooming place. I've been taking my baby Poochon to them since he was about 5 months. The first time we went, they discovered an ear infection and they provided me with an ear cleaner and antibiotic cream and my puppy was healed after a week! Life savers. I usually ask for a puppy cut. The first time I went, I showed them pictures from pinterest and they were able to style him with no issues. They're also very quick about appointments, I usually call them the day of and they are able to fit him in. Appointments can take anywhere from 1.5-3 hours but don't worry about your fur baby! Perhaps it's cause they're family owned but they are meticulous and super caring! They remembered his name the second time I called him and they seem to also have individual files on their puppy clients which I greatly appreciate. My dogs has been going to this grooming place for months now. And everything was great. But on veterans day the grooming place was so busy and took too many dogs dogs for just 2 workers. For grooming and for daycare. Unsafe. One of my dogs was severely hurt here and I didn't find out until I got home. I had to call the groomers to find out what happened and that's when they told me that my dog jumped out of the high crate after seeing me.(when the owners could've just held on to him) and put him down afterwards. He's been limping for more than a month now and not getting any better. My dog has to get surgery on his hind leg since he got injured at this place and is costing almost $4500! And this is after we called, drove around, got second opinions, went so many places to get better prices for this surgery. So we were looking out for them and trying to be considerate since their insurance will take a hit. One place was booked for 2 months and another place was asking for $8,000!!! And the owners and especially the son seem to not care anymore or want to know what is going with my dog now that since the insurance will be taking over. And the ridiculous thing is insurance doesn't even have clear answers either. But you would think they would at least want to know how my dog is doing when it happened under their care. Frankie loved his experience. This was our first time coming to get grooming done here. At first he was a little scared but he normally is when going to the groomers. His hair is curly and although I brush him regularly he definitely needed a professional to do it. They took a picture of what I wanted. I thought it wouldn't be possible since his hair was long and it's curly. If you're looking for a Teddybear cut this is the place. I really recommend showing them exactly like you want like I did. They also do a quick consultation regarding services and prices before you head out. I was okay with paying more to keep length although it would've been less if they just cut it. From the first day everything went well and every visit was great. My dogs loved coming here and always looked so clean. However on November 11th (Veteran's Day) this all changed. When we walked in, there was a playpen full of dogs and it was crazy and chaotic. I knew it was going to be busy since it was a holiday, but I didn't know there will be that many dogs for grooming and for daycare. Way too many dogs and I should've trusted my gut and left. My dogs are small so they shouldn't be at the top crate where its more than 5 feet and no matter what the dogs temperament/personality is YOU SHOULD always carry them out or stay in front of them because just like babies they could easily get hurt. At first I didn't know my dog got hurt because at the exact same time another dog in the playpen got injured with his paw getting stuck on the gate. And he was crying so loud so our whole attention went to that dog. Mind you I have all this on film. Then all of a sudden the owner lady/groomer came out and said one of our dogs got cut and they had to put glue on it. We were kind of shocked to hear that, but understood because hey it can happen while grooming and glad that she actually told us and not hid it from us. Then as we took our dogs home and put them down we noticed one of the dogs kept limping and not putting any weight on it. We called the groomers right away about his limping and if something happened and they said he jumped out when he saw us and landed awkwardly. They said maybe they can limp to get our attention or maybe it's because of the trauma from the landing and will probably go away. We were mixed with emotions and just hung up, but made an appointment to the vet anyways. We took him to the vet, took X-Rays (not broken), and the vet gave us medicine for the pain, and sedative to calm him. The vet said to see for the next couple of weeks to see if the limping will go away. It's over a month now, he still can't put any weight, and he was diagnosed with a torn ACL and will be needing TPLO surgery! While still waiting for the insurance, we put deposit of half down and the other half the day of the surgery. I contacted the owners and they gave me their insurance agent. Here is the reason what pushed me to write this review. I don't knock down small businesses because I know how hard it is to run a business since my parents owned a business for over 3 decades and I understand the headaches that comes with it. However, when I contacted the agent to see if their insurance has coverage and any questions the agent kept saying to ask the adjuster. And this was where it felt like a tennis match where I had to go back and forth to ask 3 different parties since no one knew what was going on. So long story short...the adjuster basically told me she just got information so she needs to figure what happened and to see if they have coverage for their insurance. And this is not just few hundred dollars we are dealing with, no this is THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS we need to pay out of our own pocket first that happened in this business! Of course we are highly stressed and very concerned for our dogs health. I asked both Jun and agent if they have coverage. Agent says he doesn't know and not to contact him about that. What is his role in this then?? Now this is when Jun gets annoyed and cold from his responses. I told him that I just want to tell him what's going on and he says "No, thank you. There is no reason for me to know anymore." I was in disbelief and told him straight out that do you even care what is happening to my dog. And his response was that he cares what happens to my dog, but doesn't care about the insurance because "everything has been questions about the agency or the agent or the case." And that's when I told him the reason why I'm contacting him is because there is no word from either agent and all I want to know is if they have coverage or not. I just wanted to know if they have coverage for this type of accident that happened under their care because we are dealing with THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS here. He then explains that insurance takes time and "that's just how insurance is." I understand English is not his first language so when he text the messages it comes across as insincere, but Jun needs to understand where we're coming from and how we are scared and truly worried for our baby. But instead he rather have insurance deal with it and unconcerned about questions being asked to him. He is now being real difficult about it and since it's not his problem anymore. It really shows their true intentions when something actually happens to your dogs. You would think you would be a little bit considerate how a dog parent would feel. Of course we don't know how how long the process is..because this never happened before! This is our first time so please work with us! This all could've been avoided if there was sincere communication, some compassion, and some reassurance since this happened under their care. read more

Ok wow, I wish I had read these reviews sooner I stated taking my dog here in 2022 when I first got him and he was just a puppy. I dealt directly with the owners and had a decent experience The place does smell like pee which should have been a red flag but I figured it's because the building is old. Another thing i appreciated is that they never turned my dog away, they were always willing to see him last minute. The older male gentleman has always been delightful to work with, he as come out for nail trims and is so sweet with my dog. Over time this has changed. Their son started working there and loooooong story short he's a narcissist and loves to gaslight you into believing things you know aren't true. For example each time I bring my dog the price is mysteriously higher and the reason changes each time "oh because his hair is matted" (even though i brush him daily) oh he's a standard sized dog "even though I have a 30lb mini golden doodle" most recently when i arrived he tried to charge me 200 dollars for a haircut and wash. HE LITERALLY MAKES UP PRICES ON THE SPOT. I said to myself "In this stinky place overly filled with little loud dogs when places much nicer and more humane like Sasha Cats and Dogs on Berendo would only charge 150?!" ABSOLUTELY NOT! I told then son how I felt and left them called him on my way home to let him know we aren't returning. My dog didn't get his bath or anything and I would never take him back. MOST IMPORTANTLY my puppy hates going here! And I should have listened to his body language because he's always pulling away....I thought It's just normal anxiety but now I'm retrospect I think he was mistreated or abused here. I can't confirm it but he never behaves this way at any other groomer. He usually gets excited to go be groomed and be around other pets. Dogs are intelligent and we have to trust their instincts! My sisters and I brought our fur babies here for the past year, and everything was smooth sailing. However, a month ago... one of my dogs got hurt here and now needs surgery! He ended up rupturing his left ligament and now my poor baby needs to get surgery because of the accident that happened under Mungs care! We went to so many hospitals, got many different advices/opinions, and drove HOURS all over LA County, to Orange County and to even Riverside in the past weeks alone! Finally, we found a place to get his surgery done. Now this is the part why I am writing this review... this never happened to my fur babies before from any groomers. So of course we are new at this, and we are very concerned over our baby's health. This is where Jun (owner's son) comes in. At first, he was sincere and communicating with us and sharing insurance information and all that. However, when being asked about policies and coverage... this is where he gets inconsiderate and baffled we are asking questions. He doesn't realize their business is involved with this situation whether he likes it or not. This unfortunate accident happened, then he needs to be professional and really handle it maturely. When we are just as clueless as he is with the coverage and insurance information... then there is no reason for him to get mad. We should be the one that should be getting mad! Never once, did we show anger or were rude towards them. We were cordial and understanding and were going to continue bringing our fur babies to them. However, when Jun stated that he doesn't need to know anymore about what is going on and let the insurance just handle it; that was where we believe he crossed the line. Basically, what he told us was that he didn't care about questions or about the agent and the insurance. He just told us to ask them. Even with explaining to him that the agent doesn't know anything and that we are still in the dark with unanswered questions... that's why we wanted to ask him if they have certain coverage or not, he still shut us out. When the insurance got back to us today and heard what has been going on, they actually told us that Jun needs to communicate and needs to answer us since they are involved as well. I don't know why he was beating around the bush and so irritated with questions that needed to be answered. If he didn't know, then he could've been more considerate and understanding of where we were coming from. If we still don't continue to hear from them... we would be taking legal matters. read more

Really great service ! They are always so kind ! Even if they are super busy they give my cat their full attention and cut its nails and do a quick shave of the butt. Normally this place only groom dogs . But I like their extra care for nail cutting I actually don't have to come back for a while ! This is unacceptable. No matter what I say it will not express how angry and how upset I am. Looking at reviews on here obviously I'm not the only one who had gotten their dog back with scars hidden all of their bodies here and there. There are too many reviews similar to mine involving scars. I posted up pictures but this more than a scar. If they are poorly skilled at grooming dogs they should not be running a dog grooming business. It seems like there are many dogs leaving from this place lethargic and scarred - literally and figuratively. The fact that this scar- no a chunk of skin he fucking cut off that was conveniently located under my dogs ear- I noticed the day after. How dare they conceal this from me and then try to charge me $5 more than the original price which is $40.00? They try to grow their business on absolutely no integrity with not just poor service but they are highly unqualified to be grooming dogs. If you want to come here to get ripped off then don't be surprised when you take your dog home and they don't touch their food and is lethargic. *WORST PLACE EVER* The groomer cut my dog's ear. They lied to me at first. Then I ask the groomer to shave my dog's ear to see her wound. It's cut in V shape by scissor. At that point, the owner said sorry but she offered me $10 discount. Who could possibly think to offer money when you hurt someone's family? And $10? I'm still very sad whenever I see my dog's ear. I also think they put crazy glue on her wound to make stop bleeding faster. I've heard many groomers use crazy glue. The crust was plasticky hard and clear. It was clearly not only by dried blood.
