I have been jumping from grooming place to grooming places and i recently (about 2weeks ago) took my puppy to get groomed to puppy paradise since it was close by and seemed like a good place based on OLD reviews however it was the WORSE THE WORSE place! they cut my puppy in various areas of her body, the WORSE was her ears BOTH! she now has scab and still has dried blood on the tips of her ears! there weren't careful or in any way attentive with my puppy. NEVER AGAIN GOING TO PUPPY PARADISE! funny thing is that from all the places i have went to non requested a "contract" on them not being responsible when shaving a matted puppies. What can I say...both Omar and Michael are simply amazing people. I bought 2 puppies from them and since they were new, I had an issue with one of them. They were extremely understanding, and worked with me throughout the entire ordeal. They are both extremely knowledgeable, & responded to my calls/texts in a timely manner. They also took the time to explain all the steps to follow when first purchasing the puppies, and then how to proceed at home. went to this pet store looking for dog. when I walked in, I saw a lot of mixed breed dogs was OK but not OK , why so many mixed breed dogs? however, i saw a Maltese and asked the price was told he was 3800 i was shocked but it was a purebred Maltese. so I asked the sales person how much the morkies were, I was told that these dogs were a mix of Maltese and Yorkshire terrier. the sales price was 3500. again I was shocked mixed breed dog 3500?. I was told that pure yorkies was 4000. they had no dogs for 1000 an up ,I thanked them and left. this place is way overpriced for mixed breed or purebred dogs read more

Beware! They are the worst. They post fake punctures of puppies on their site. When you get there they say that they "just sold" the puppy that they wrote about the night before. The store is filthy. They have no knowledge of dogs. They offered a remedy to someone that was potentially lethal. I see many people who groom their dogs there but I would NEVER buy one from them. read more

First and last time I'm coming here. I dropped off my 6 month old pomapoo for a grooming at about 9am and was told to come back in the afternoon. It took about 7 hours for them to have him ready. And when I got him they did exactly the opposite I asked for. Left his hair uneven and way too short, and didn't not cut the nails right. Don't recommend this place. read more

This place is nice. THey have all kind of breeds of dogs. I bought a victorian bulldog there and he's a healthy boy. He is still a live! The staffs are very nice and they know what to do to keep the animal happy when you bring them home. Even when you buy one, the come with a cue little costume, they wear when leaving the place. My bulldog came out with bandana around his neck. It was so cute. We came there again three months later with our dog (as a visit) and I came with my cousin... and she fell in love with all the puppies, including a 2 month old pug. My American Eskimo is almost one year and 2 months. I got him last year through Puppy Paradise who found an excellent American Eskimo breeder in Iowa. Stanley is a smart, affectionate and very active dog. The staff was really helpful and loving toward him when I picked him up. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. I have purchased 3 miniature daschunds from Puppy Paradise back in 2012, 2 are chocolate color short hair brother and sister from Missouri and one shorthair miniature dapple from Kansas. Its been 6 years and the dogs are healthy and happy. We love them so much and have brought them back to the store for boarding multiple times when we would leave for a vacation. We were so sad to hear that Mike the owner doesn't do boarding anymore, since April 2018. I have gone back and got another miniature daschund from him yesterday; she is a chocolate color, long hair female from Missouri. The experience was great as always, Mike himself was present and stayed past closing time with me and allowed me to interact with any dog I wanted to and answered any and all of my questions. He had all of the breeders information on hand and was willing to provide their contact information for me should i have any further questions.The dog was already spayed, microchiped and fully vaccinated. I am all for adopting and I have adopted two dogs int he past but I totally recommend this store . read more

Do not finance any dogs with Puppy Paradise. The finance company the use, WAGS finance are thieves. They overinflate the cost of the dog 3x times the cost of the dog. There are hidden fees and rental fees. Its like a dirty lender. Better off not financing with WAGS! Buyer beware. read more

My Shih Tzu is one difficult pup. Petco and the other grooming places around town wouldn't take him while I was in Brooklyn visiting my sister. Puppy Paradise took my pup and treated him like a king. Bring your hard to handle dogs here, the staff can handle them. Very friendly and capable employees. Great prices too! read more

HORRENDOUS BOARDING CONDITIONS. I'm afraid to say that, despite a friendly and enthusiastic staff, Puppy Paradise returned my 1 yr. old female bulldog after four nights of boarding in absolutely appalling condition. When we dropped her off, the owner (or perhaps manager) Melanie mentioned that she loved bulldogs and asked me if she could feed her some chicken (which I thought was weird but a nice gesture). I said "no" and explained that she is a little overweight and should eat nothing but the food we provided (a fresh un-opened bag). When we picked her up yesterday, she came out of the back covered in feces/diarrhea stains. She had brown stains running down her backside, on all of her paws, her belly, and shoulder. It was sickening. Her harness was also on backwards and way too tight (I later noticed significant chafing around her shoulders from this). I was a little in shock so rushed out rather quickly. As I piled my poor poop-covered puppy into the car, I noticed that the food we had provided has not even been opened (nor was the toy we sent her in with in the bag). I went back in to ask the manager at the desk what she had been eating ("uh, I don't know . . ."), when she had last been walked, fed or given water ("uuhhhh . . . I can check"), and so forth. She is still quite ill (diarrhea, vomited up some her breakfast) and still stinks (after two baths). Unbelievable. I called later to complain and received a call back apologizing, stating that "this has never happened before," an assertion that I doubt very much. Lord knows what they were feeding her, and whatever else she was put through. Both the bag of her belongings (minus one toy, plus one unopened bag of food) and her leash had little notes describing the feeding regimen we had agreed on so it's not like they had forgotten, or couldn't have immediately figured it out when they noticed she was ill. It should have occured to someone to check her diet when she started having diarrhea (likely her first day there), but clearly nobody thought to do so, which stikes me as insanely careless, incompetent, and arguably cruel. I suspect our dog will be just fine but a dog with a weaker constitution or specific dietary needs may well have come out of there on death's door. I've reported the business to the ASPCA (and numerous area veterinarians) and strongly discourage anyone from going to Puppy Paradise for any reason. Filthy and dangerous, enough said. As an endnote, I should also point out that the staff was very pleasant and enthusiastic (even when they brought her out covered in brown slime). Instead of being a plus, I count this as a negative because they clearly thought they had lived up to the standard of care and quality one would expect from a boarding facility, when in fact they fell woefully below anything I have even heard of. This is scary. These people, pleasant though they may be, are completely ignorant and unfit to run such an establishment if they think neglect is an acceptable benchmark. read more

Today, I came to Puppy Paradise at 9am for dog grooming. One of the shop owner's cats attacked my dog and left her bleeding as we walked through the shop. The cat could've easily injured me if my dog wasn't between us. I was told that that's "just how the cat is" re: its temperament. Did I get an apology? Nope. Did they even pretend to be concerned about my dog? Nope. Did they offer to show me the cat's vaccination records that I requested? Nope. Did they offer to pay for a vet visit as I requested? Nope. Now my dog has puncture wounds, scratches, and a swollen muzzle. I'll never be using their services again, and our next communication will be via the court system. read more

I was very reluctant to buy a puppy from a store but we fell in love with our Bella. She was so calm and sweet...no wonder she was, she was sick! She was guaranteed to be in good health and she came home with kennel cough which turned into pneumonia. On Nov1,2012 we had to board our dog Jack because we were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. We boarded him at puppy paradise on ave.p&flatbush ave. in bklyn. We called everyday & we were told he was fine. On Nov.20th we got partial power back. We called puppy paradise & told them we would come for Jack. Upon seeing him I noticed jack was very thin. I scooped him up & took him in the car. There was a terrible odor coming from his mouth.i tried to give him a treat & that's when I saw that jack couldn't open his mouth. It was if his jaw was glued shut. We immediately took him to his Dr. I was told jack had to be sedated & operated on to remove a glue tape that was stuffed in his mouth. The dr. Said it had been there for at least 12 to 24 hours. I have photos & Drs. Notes. When I went back to Puppy Paradise on nov.21st. The owner mike called me a liar & refused to read reports or look at photos. I was cursed at and left the business. They treated my Jack terribly & treated this problem terribly. read more

I got my puppy from here about a year ago and I am very happy with this place! My baby Layla was in perfect health when we got her and we got plenty of toys there for her as well. The best pet store Ive ever been to. Went here about two weeks ago because my partner and I were looking for our first puppy, and we were checking out EVERY pet store in ALL 5 boroughs. So far all the pet stores we went to had dogs at almost 3 grand, the cheapest being 2 grand which is ridiculous. All the pet stores despite one or two treated thwir dogs horribly and the puppies looked malnourished. So we went to puppy paradise, and was greeted by the owner, Omar, and his corgi. They have a nice little selection of small dogs, and they all looked happy and ready to come out. We saw this perfect pomimo and we fell in love. We were not expecting to get a dog that day at all, but the owner was so helpful with EVERYTHING "no question is a dumb question" and he did not pressure us to buy anything but we decided to anyways. If you want a pet for life, this is the place! Reasonably priced, puppies are taken care of, and both owners are great. Also, we took our pup to the vet and everything was perfect. No kennel cough, which happens a lot with bad treated pet stores pups. read more

The woman with the red hair who works there is the sweetest woman in the whole world, I went in there looking for a dog but a woman in there. Tall dark skinned in the front was extremely nasty the entirety of my visit. I've heard many stories of this woman being very very rude and snotty, it seems as if she has a complex about herself and I really think management at this store should do something about her. I brought my dog to puppy paradise for boarding.I was recommend by a few people that it would be a great place to board your dog.I called several times and was assured my dog was eating,playing and being well taken care of.We gave them a bag of his food and some bones to give him.Came to pick him up anxious to see my dog,to much of my surprise as they where bringing him upstairs,sprayed him with what looked like lysol or something to disguise the odor.I went to pet him and noticed that his left ear had some sort of glue.I asked the guy what happened he shrugged his shoulders and said ''oh i wasnt here yesterday his ear was stuck on a glue trap''.I was disgusted by the lack of concern of my dog's state.I will never ever go back there and hope that people wont either. read more

I boarded my two cats for 8 days earlier this month. I could tell right away that the people who work there are animal lovers, so it made it easier to leave my cats there. When I picked them up they were obviously well cared for and the staff was sorry to see them go. I would definitely entrust my pets to them again. I hate writing a bad review especially like this one. I brought my shih tzu for a quick wash and dry along with a touch up for my pooches face, ears, and her backside. they first quoted $55.00 and the front desk manager, corrected it to $40.00 and i agreed. when i picked up the pooch at 4:30pm. she was washed, dry and waiting but she was not groomed. Not her face, her ears or her rear, and when i walked in i specifically mentioned that she need her face groomed because the last time i brought her in, Puppy Paradise had neglected to trim and cut her face fuzz in the area of the mouth and neck. As i mentioned my dissatisfaction with the services provided, he said he could fix it in less than 10 minutes...well listen I don't want my dog subject to a person clipping cutting, and trimming her facial hair in less than 10 minutes...I have received less than stellar service from this merchant in the past and have let it go...but I can not any longer...it is not fair...when i walked out the gentlemen told me that ok...your choice....again, this is not the way to respond, and he did not offer to make it right...i know they are trying...they lost my dog's collar...once...i have received choppy grooming for my dog...and kept quiet...sorry...no more...Please do not bring your pooch in...unless you are willing to take a risk with your pet, and willing to throw your money away...I DO NOT HAVE LOTS OF MONEY TO THROW OUT THE WINDOW, I AM NOT RICH, I AM UNEMPLOYED AND I PAID THE FEE THAT I WAS QUOTED, WHY DID I NOT GET THE SERVICES PROMISED AND AGREED UPON. I had the pleasure of participating in one of their "puppy parties" today where they brought 10 puppies to my location to help relieve stress of my peers and I during finals, and I was very pleased with the experience! All the puppies were clean and groomed when they were released to us and the two people in charge, I believe it was the owner and one of his employees, did an excellent job to set up a play area in which all of the puppies were safe from getting lost or scared or hurt, and in a way where everyone got to play with a puppy even though there were far more students than puppies. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful and urged people to take the dogs and play with them and they had brought toys and all the supplies and treats necessary for us to have a good time with the puppies. They were very prompt in cleaning up all of the messes the puppies made (and there were a lot for sure) and did a great job engaging the students. read more
