If it were possible to give a negative score, I would. Appreciating that context in reviews is important, I will note that we spent thousands of dollars here for day care, boarding, training, and grooming. The employee turnover lead to worse and worse treatment over time. Before we moved, there were four extremely negative interactions with front desk personnel. (Condescension, straight-forward rudeness, and discussion of behavioral issues for our dog that was insulting. When video footage was shown to us, it appeared that our dog was protecting another dog from an attack, not instigating one.) Overall, terrible communication, poor assessment quality, and a feeling of uncertainty that our dog was safe there. We paid for training with absolutely no updates or summaries in text, email, or by phone. The training seems like a sales maneuver. (By contrast, the team at Tucker Pups is lovely, provides excellent updates on training, and connects with you in weekly live training sessions.) We have now moved and our dog has been a regular at two different day care facilities with only glowing report cards. This is definitely not where I would recommend you take your pets. Specific note: Watch out for the man who sometimes stands on the backstairs and is abusive (verbally) from there. read more

Chrissy is a phenomenal trainer. She has successfully guided me to train my Bernedoodle puppy, Appa, with positive operant conditioning (clicker training) when he was only 2 months old. In no time at all (4 hour-long sessions), Appa has learned how to sit, stay, offer a paw, do a hi-five, a puppy push-up, lie down, and roll over. He follows the commands come, "drop it," and "leave it." He also learned to sit still instead of jumping up on people. Today was Appa's first walk outside. He learned how to go up and down my porch steps and to follow me during a walk while maintaining eye contact. He also did a solid "come." Finally, he stepped up onto a 16" Plyo Box. Besides Appa getting a full stomach of treats & praise, I am one proud & happy dog mama. Highly recommend! read more

Former employees have spoken out, confirming what I experienced firsthand: they only care about making money, not the well-being of your pet. They charge outrageous fees, including extra just to access live video feeds -- what exactly are they hiding? Staff are shockingly rude, not just to paying customers, but even worse, to the dogs. The treatment of animals here is unacceptable and heartbreaking. What's supposed to be a fun, safe environment for dogs is actually a stressful, overpriced, and poorly run operation. Brittani and team provide excellent daycare. I bring my buddy Dante there three times a week and I am assured that he is well taken care of. The staff is awesome and each member gets to know your pet's idiosyncrasies. It is obvious that this staff loves what they're doing. And they'll bring that love to your pet. You can spot your pet via cams and the Pups' team emails a daily wellness update on your pet's behavior. I wouldn't bring my buddy Dante anywhere else. If you have a doodle, you know how difficult it can be to find a groomer you trust. My dog had a really bad grooming experience where they basically shaved him down to nothing, and ever since then we've been trying out different groomers to find one that sticks. Luckily, we found Brenda at Pups Pet Club! My dog is typically scared when I drop him at the groomers and cowers behind me. With Brenda, was actually excited to see her. That alone is reassuring that my pup is in good hands. On top of that, Brenda actually took time to talk to me about any specifics I had in mind for the cut. It was all done within about 2.5 hours, and the results were a happy pup and happy mom because he looks absolutely adorable! Brenda mentioned that she has been a groomer for many years, and her work and connection with the animals shows. If you are in the area looking for a trustworthy groomer, your search is over! read more

Disappointed is an understatement. My finance and I recently adopted a 9 month old pit bull/lab mix named Poppy and we were looking for a daycare to take her to 1-2 times a week. We take her to dog parks and beaches frequently and she always plays well with other dogs, so we were confident daycare would be perfect for her. When I inquired about daycare services at PUPS, I made it very clear that she is a puppy with a lot of energy who LOVES to play with other dogs and people. I was told "your pup sounds like she would do great with us!" I scheduled her trial day, and everything was off to a great start. I was given free live camera access for her first day and started watching the feed immediately because I was nervous about leaving her in someone else's care for the first time since adopting her. Poppy spent some time walking around the room and then as more dogs joined the room, she started playing with a few playmates. My fiancé and I both watched the cameras carefully and only saw signs of healthy play. It looked like Poppy and the others were have a great time together and my anxiety started to ease! I did notice that the staff mostly just stood around the room and chatted with one another. It didn't seem like they interacted with the dogs much. They either cleaned up after dogs who had accidents and occasionally separated dogs when the playing seemed to be getting a little rough. They brought a bubble wand out every 30 mins or so but that was the extent of their engagement with the dogs. It was still early in the day at this point, so I was hopeful more toys and engagement would come later on. Unfortunately I never had the chance to learn if this would be the case. After about 3-4 hours I received a call saying Poppy was "not a good fit for PUPS because she loves to PLAY." Poppy was described as sweet and a good girl, but was clearly not welcome at PUPS. As far as I'm aware, she did not hurt another dog or a staff member, she just had "too much energy." I then made last minute arrangements at work to leave and pick Poppy up. When I entered the building the customer service experience was horrendous. The manager sat at the front desk on her laptop and did not look up or engage with me once. I was then charged the full $51 for the trial day despite Poppy only being present for about 4 hours total. To make matters worse, I saw a complimentary PUP card later that day sharing a positive report of Poppy's day. It detailed that she was energetic but said she enjoyed playing with new friends and bubble time. Obviously this is incredibly contradictory to what I was told previously. Honestly I could go on about how horrible of an experience this was, but I truly feel that I was scammed out of $51 and an hour of work without any adequate reason provided. Unless your dog likes standing in a crowded room with a bubble wand being waved around every 30 mins, this is not the place for you. read more

I have a dog wash in my building but I'm tired of being a slave to this Bulldog. I posted on a Facebook group for local dog owners after finding out that it's easier to book a wedding venue than to get a short haired dog washed. Everyone was weeks out. Danya responded and told me they'd be able to get me in. Sure enough she did. Not only that but I was able to check off my to-do list of having a walker/boarder/ etc option available should I ever need it. They all require meet and greets as well as records, so in case of emergency, it's best to have that pre- arranged. This place does everything. Training. Daycare. Transportation so your dog can cruise for chicks (or dudes) to and from without you there ruining their game. Their grooming options can't be beat. I noticed the large chain stores don't offer many services. Zero chance I'm expressing any anal glands, my love knows some limitations. I gladly paid the $20 extra, which is quite the deal since I would've found $2000 reasonable, considering the task. :) Despite having the Furminator comb and shedding shampoo and conditioner myself I paid them to do the service and couldn't believe how soft and delightful my monster has been ever since. They do cats, as well. But my hands are full with Norman's attitude so one animal is enough for me. read more

I got a recommendation for their grooming services from a friend and decided to try them out. From scheduling the appointment to the grooming consultation and the pick up, PUPS was great about walking me through the process. It was my dog's first grooming appointment after his adoption and he looked and smelled so good afterward. Brenda was clearly experienced and very kind and friendly to both me and my dog. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because they said grooming would take 2 hour and it ended up taking 3 and there wasn't any communication that it was taking longer so I was left for an hour wondering what was up. My pup isn't really a dog person - more into humans and toys - but we have had to take him here a few times when we plan on being gone all day or have to go in the office. Although he's always nervous as that's his nature, he seems to really like the people here. He always runs up to them and greets them which is NOT typical of him with people that aren't his normal crew. That puts my mind at ease when leaving him there all day, and I love getting the report cards where we can see a photo of how he's doing and hear updates about his behavior, what he did that day, and who his friends are. If you are looking for a business that truly cares about it's customers, this is not it. (This is a review of the business processes and leadership, and does not reflect how I feel about the staff who cared for my dog.) I started bringing my dog Morty here almost as soon as they opened, I believe in 2018. It was super convenient as it was on my way to work, and I loved that they had web cams that I could check in on him when they he was there. Morty passed away suddenly at age six on July 28, 2022. I sent a message to Pups Pet Club to let them know they next day. I asked them to cancel my upcoming reservation and to remove me from their mailing lists. While they did cancel my reservation, they did not remove me from their mailing lists and I continued to recieve emails asking me to invest in their company among other less grotesque asks. However, that is not what upset me. They never responded to my email. NEVER. Not so much as a were sorry for you loss. I waited 3 weeks before contacting them again. I mean, maybe they would send a personalized card, like MedVet and his regular vet at North Center Animal Hospital did. But Nada. On August 17, I sent another email, asking that it be forwarded to management and expressed how disheartened I was that I never heard from them. And again I heard nothing. I am deeply and profoundly upset that the loss of Morty was not even acknowledged by a place that "cared" for him for several years. Once I was no longer giving them money, they did not care. I had some issues with how they made their money at other times, especially as time went on. For example, over Memorial Day weekend they had a holiday surcharge AND you couldn't pick up you dog on Memorial Day. To me, that in of itself is a surcharge. (I would not be surprised if that extra money went in the company coffers and not to the employee.) They increased prices and reduced services. They used to have open boarding with a staff member on site all not. They switched to crated boarding and no one on site...and still increased prices. They have also removed Morty from my account and I don't know if I had any bonus bucks to use there. A compassionate business would also consider pro-rating when an animal passes. But since they couldn't even type the phrase, we're sorry for your loss, compassion is not the first word that comes to mind. (I didn't have any package/days left, but at Pups Pet Club you pay an annual fee to belong to "the club.") Our membership was almost up, but what if I had just spent $800 on a package? I did eventually realized that I could cancel my subscription, and I did. But I was shattered when Morty died and didn't think clearly for awhile. Eventually I'll adopt again, but I'll never give my business to Pups Pet Club. I hope they see this and learn from it. B read more

Excellent service! Gabriel (Gaby) did our grooming the cut was AWESOME! In total we paid $69. $49 for the wash + trim + $20 because our dog was matted due to her ear medicine. It was really worth it! I love the service and for us it's super convenient because it's just a walk away. It's located on the corner of Lincoln/Racine/Diversey right next to Gino's East. This is an example of the worst possible way to train and take care dogs I've ever seen in my life. The fact that the dogs are stuck inside alone is a travesty. Dogs should be allowed to run and play outside, not sit in an empty room with some worn down toys. If an employee can't put a dog in its place in any way other than trying to be its therapist then the dog will never learn that what they're doing is bad. Don't send your dog here if you actually want them to become more well behaved, because it seems to me that PUPS Pet Club's main goal is to teach dogs that they can do whatever they want and get away with it. If you're idea of stopping a fight is to get in between and gently say "calm down" you're going to get nowhere and the dogs will learn nothing. If you want a well behaved dog, find a different daycare. If you want a dog who thinks they can do whatever they want without consequence, then I absolutely recommend PUPS. read more

Very poor customer service and support by Dan, who seems to be the owner of the establishment. The associate made a mistake when we were checking out that we tried to confirm before paying. We were then additionally charged 2 days later with no notification when they realized their mistake. When we called to straighten the situation out we were connected with Dan who was very rude over the phone and was unwilling to come to a solution that would satisfy both parties. To say I was disappointed in my experience would be an understatement. I picked my dog up from daycare on September1. As soon as we started to walk home, I noticed that he had a puncture wound on his face, and it was bleeding. I immediately called and emailed, but the location was closed for the day. I called again the next morning, and left another voicemail. It was hours before someone called me back to apologize and say they'd look into it. Another FOUR days passed before anyone contacted me, and it was simply to leave a voicemail saying they reviewed the footage and aren't sure what happened. I emailed them several days ago asking for my money back, at a minimum, and have yet to receive a response. I understand things happen, but I should've been informed upon pick up that an altercation occurred. If they weren't aware that an altercation took place, that's an even bigger concern. I'm beyond frustrated by their lack of response. It's been over three weeks and my dog still hasn't fully healed. We will never return and I would caution others from trusting this location to care for their dog. read more

This place is amazing! Especially my pup's groomer, Brenda. I've had trouble having him groomed before because he is very anxious, but Brenda's calm composure made it much easier for him to warm up. My dog was shedding nonstop before Brenda groomed and did the deshedding treatment on him. Now when I brush my hands through his fur, not a single loose hair comes out. And he is so smooth and clean smelling! 100% worth every penny. read more

They squeeze way too many big dogs into a small room. They advertise that their rooms are separated by size, but that was not the case on at least one occasion. I brought in my pup for daycare and boarding per the decent reviews. The women I spoke to on the phone to book was very sweet and efficient, but did say our dog wouldn't be among dogs bigger than 50 lbs. When we arrived to drop him off, we saw this was not true. Maybe some branches have this policy and not Lakeview? There were not only massive dogs in the play area, but there were far more than expected, roughly 30+ it seemed. The daycare workers had to hold back the hordes of dogs like it was a gladiator match. It was maybe too many dogs for such a small place, and they encouraged the dogs to pee all over the floor using a special paint on the floor which struck me as strange. He came home smelling like urine, his ears were completely matted and his body fur haggard, and he cried a lot on the walk back - not "sad I'll miss my pals" tears but "oof that was traumatic" tears. read more

Pups pet club is amazing! They take such good care and are so willing to accommodate special requests. They separate the dogs by age and size which is so helpful for socializing young puppies. My dog always comes back pooped from all the playtime. They're very thorough with providing updates and the webcams are great for keeping an eye on your pup. It's also very clean. read more

They don't time their groomings properly. We've had our dogs groom take 5 hours we've had it take two hours. They were going to have us bring our dog in for a 12:30 appointment but told us the groomer wasn't going to get to him until 3:30 because a dog before was taking longer. Our dog also had to be dragged in to the place after he started working with their new groomer there now. Do not recommend if you are looking for your dog to get a consistent cut, to be able to count on how long it will take and not have to be worried about why your dog doesn't want to even to walk in the place when he typically doesn't mind being at the groomer. read more

Wow, can I start by saying what a gem Keila is? She groomed my dog only once and we won't ever go anywhere else now. She was the sweetest, talked with us about all our options (he was matted). She took such great care of my pup despite him being a nervous wreck when he gets groomed. I cannot recommend her enough! I had my 7 month old doodle pup groomed this past weekend and Dawn did a great job! I can be extremely picky about finding a good groomer in this city as I also have a shih tzu. Upon first glance at picking him up I thought that she did an ok job but after getting him home and really looking at him she did a wonderful job! Very even cut on his body and his face looks great...what I love most is she listened to my ask and delivered! I also loved that he was fully groomed in just 2 1/2 hours time. We will definitely be back for my pups next cut and will be giving this place a try for our shih tzu as well. read more

Very disappointed by the organization and care of my puppy. I had an appointment to be groomed at 4pm. I received a call at 6:00pm saying my dogs haircut could not be done because they ran out of time for the night. The groomer is absolutely fantastic and works extremely hard. I initially understood the situation but it was communicated that my 6mon puppy had been washed and blow-dried. Upon my arrival, staff were standing around on their phones. The receptionist had no idea where my puppy was at the moment... Only to find out he was sitting in a crate for probably the full 2 hours wet and cold. One of the girls said it was "her bad" that he was not blow-dried as she was sitting on her phone. If this is how they care for a puppy in 2 hours I can't imagine what any of their other services such as day care would even begin to be like. Truly disappointed and I will not be returning to put my puppy through such poor treatment. read more
