Brought my Bernedoodle here for his very first grooming session when he turned 6 months old after receiving a recommendation from another Bernedoodle's mom about what a wonderful job April and her team do! Made an appointment a few days out and was able to drop him off super easily! When we went, there were a handful of other dogs there, so he had plenty of dogs to play with while getting comfortable with the facilities. Christine said that he'd probably be ready in about four hours, which was wonderful - gave me so much time to be productive at home without my furry monster!! We received a call that he was ready, and when we went to pick him up, he was almost unrecognizable! He was trimmed BEAUTIFULLY! He came by to say hello and went right back to playing with his friends. He didn't want to leave. He came home looking and smelling so fresh, and exhausted by the play time - all REALLY good things!! I was very upset at the way April+team handled my maltipoo's haircut. I do admit he did have some tangles and matted hair. April decided to shave the matted hair off, which is fine and all but also gave him razor burns cause the blade got too hot. Bear acted timid and weird for a week and refused to leave the room/apartment. She refused to admit there were any issues and blamed me when this was all her doing. Our first experience with April was amazing! She took our 8yo shelter dog from drag to FAB!! I loved that she allowed the dogs to be out of their crates and socialize with the other pups. I often opt for the works and have everything done for my dog (grooming, to trimming nails, teeth cleaning, and a shower). A bonus tip: April also does dog sitting! Not officially, but if you have a busy day ahead, you can drop off your fury companion early in the morning and pick em up later in the day when you're free. On top of the grooming, your dog also gets the socialization they need from other pups! There are usually a handful of dogs during each visit and you're able to watch them play and run around. But wait, there's more! At the end of the day, not only is your dog fresh and clean, they're most likely exhausted from all the play time. Once you're home, chances are your doggo is going to get some much needed rest. Meanwhile you can just relax after your long day knowing your dog is freshly groomed. April loves all animals and treats them with the upmost care. My dog loves visiting her and always comes home as happy as can be looking so handsome. We have tried other groomers in the past and our pup came home with razor burn, bad hair cuts or stressed from being placed in a crate. April hand drys all her dogs so no locking them in a crate with a dryer pipe stuck into the cage causing disco and trauma. Our pup has a chicken ally and she is always mindful of that. I truly can't say enough good things about her abs how caring she is with all pets that visit. He is always nervous going there, which I'm sure makes him a challenging customer, but leaves looking very handsome and happy, having a day of play with the other dogs in the shop. The only reason I gave 4/5 and not a full 5 stars is that I recommend being very patient if you're a Type-A person like me! Due to the number of dogs in the shop, pick-up and drop-off can be sort of hectic. Also, on two separate occasions has the staff just not been there for my appointment. I love April and the Ritz. They do an amazing job and she's the dog whisperer. My dog Henry is absolutely loves april and is delighted to go there. He is beside himself with JOY when he arrives and he does not want to leave when it's time to go. Instead of shoving everyone in a cage, she allows the dogs that get along to roam free and others can choose to go in cages. It's the best place and we have taken henry there since he was little. I have been taking my two Shi Tzus to April their entire lives (one is 12, the other 10). She is fantastic. My littlest gets anxious on the street and barks at other dogs, but when he goes to April, he's calm and plays with the other dogs, tag wagging the entire time. April walks them and gives them healthy treats. Oh, and they look (and smell) great when they are done! Who knew they made doggy cologne?!? I drop them off in the morning, run my errands, and pick them up in the afternoon. If she is running late (or early) she texts me to let me know, but is always flexible on pick up time. Against my better judgement, we dropped both of our Cavapoos off at 9:30am to be groomed. A friend of ours told us about a bad experience that they had at this salon, but we are new to the area and wanted to have our dogs groomed before thanksgiving. When we dropped the dogs off, they told us to expect the grooming to be done in 3.5 or 4 hours so we called at 1:30 for an update, and were obviously very upset to hear that they hadn't even started grooming either of our dogs yet. Going to a groomer is typically not an activity that most dogs enjoy, including my own. I would have much rather had someone call me to tell me that they overbooked for the day, mistakes happen & that is not the problem I have with this situation. The problem is that my dogs just sat in a room, full of other dogs, anxious and afraid for hours when they could have been at home. So now we have 2 un-groomed dogs that smell like cigarettes and will need to go through another stressful day of going to another groomer. We will not be returning. I wish this was a one time mistake, but based off of what other dog owners in the area have shared with us, it is a normal occurrence at this location. The groomer was very apologetic when we picked the dogs up and it wasn't her fault that the owners overbooked her for the day. But I absolutely would urge you to reconsider booking at this location. read more

I have mixed reviews for the Ritz Kennel Salon. On one hand, I was squeezed in last minute on a very busy holiday weekend. I called at 8 am on a Sat and was told to bring my puppy in at 12:30pm. I really appreciated her squeezing my pup in! The owner was very nice. However, there was WAY too much chaos going on. She (the owner) has a very unorganized atmosphere. Not that I am up tight. However, I would like to walk in the door without being bombarded by dogs. A huge dog lover myself, this has nothing to do with loving animals. I just didn't find it appropriate having to push through a dog or 2 to get to the front desk. I explained to her what I wanted the trim to look like. She said, no problem and she would call me when Lilly was done. 3 hours later, I called to check on the progress. She apologized, said she was running behind and give her another 45 min. 45 minutes later, I went to pick up Lilly. When I walked in, I was bombarded by another very large dog. It took her a minute or two to get him to the side. Very annoying, I would like to pick up my dog and go home. Upon seeing Lilly, I was very unhappy. As mentioned above, I had explained an exact way I would like her cut, as well as, asking for rounded out cutting of her ears. She was choppy all over and her ears were blunt cut. Her fur will grow back, but when paying that kind of price, I did NOT get what I asked for! The owner explained that since she is a puppy she was all over the place and she was constantly fixing her work because Lilly would not sit still. Maybe there should have been other staff there to help? Seemed like she was very rushed on her work. $55 for a 5 pound puppy and it looked sloppy, not my cup of tea. read more

April was a life-saver during Covid crisis when most grooming places were closed. She did a good job with my dog first time, so I went back for his grooming yesterday. The place was in middle of a construction and seems pretty hot (for me as a human, I am sure dogs will feel much warmer). I was told my dog will be ready in 3 hours. After getting no call in 3 plus hours, I called and I was told that they are running behind and it will take another 1.5 hours. When I expressed my unhappiness, I got a call back and I was told they will move my dog up in the queue. After 4 hours being stuck in a hot room, I finally picked up my dog, paid and quickly got him out of there. After coming back home, when I thoroughly checked him, I am not even sure if his hair was cut and if he got everything I paid for (plus 20% tip). April seems to be a nice person and really cares for dogs, but lack of professionalism of this business is pretty obvious and we will probably not go back there for grooming. read more

I am always hesistant about sending my dog to new groomers--half the time my dog comes back with the ugliest haircut, but April made Benji look like a show dog & he had a gorgeous grooming--I was so pleased! Most places like petsmart, always cage the dog for hours before gromming the dogs which scares my dog because he has never been caged in his life! April does not keep the dogs in the cage (allows them to chill), gives the dogs treats and even takes the dog out to pee! After two days, five hours over the two days my dog never got a haircut I originally booked. I finally gave up and said I would go elsewhere. The first day she took on too many dogs got overbooked when we came to pick up the dog all she had gotten done was a blow dry no cut. No call that she was running behind. She said come back the next day it will take me 45 minutes. We dropped her off at the start of the morning I reconfirmed it would take 45 minutes they said yes. Came back an hour later nothing. Owner was not even there and could not confirm a time when she would be done. The place is extremely hot. Did not feel like any AC was on in the summer. My dog was panting when I picked her up and as soon as she could find a water bowl on the street she drink it up. Did not see water provided. read more
