My son had a dream to be in a room with puppies and today I made that happen for him and my daughter at Pups Without Borders . They are a rescue for dogs and specialize in caring for puppies without homes. They are a nonprofit so any and all help is appreciated to keep their facilities running. I was so happy to pay for a reasonably priced "puppy party" for my kids to enjoy that would also help animals in need. We opted to have an - In house puppy party event at their facility. If you know anyone looking to adopt a fur companion please consider this place. Finding the facility is a little difficult to find as there's no signage detailing where the business is, but the address is legible outside of it. There's metered parking in the front of the building. Be aware that most of the meters do not function which means, you can still park there anyway. Samantha was our host for our in house event today and she set up the play area and cleaned up any puppy "messes" rapidly along the way. She was very kind and supervised with so much care for my children and those adorable pups. The pups had lots of toys to choose from, water bowls and were just so lovely. If my place allowed animals - I'm sure we would have taken one home! My kids ENJOYED their time and fell in love with these 5 sweet and energetic puppies!!! Core memories were made and for my children this was everything they could hope for. As a mama seeing their faces and joy filled my heart. Today was a good day! My neighbor recommended Pups Without Borders to me and I can not recommend them enough for someone looking to add a new member to the family. The work this rescue does is amazing and from the moment we stepped foot into the facility to meet our new boy, they were incredible. We spent upwards of an hour meeting some puppies and when we decided to commit to adoption, the process was seamless. I know some people have gripes with the adoption process through rescues because of overly stringent requirements such as never being out of the home for more than 4 hours or not having a yard but I certainly don't have a large apartment and they were more interested in my ability to provide the best home possible to my new puppy. The adoption fee might be a little higher than the average rescue but I just thought of it as a sizeable donation to help the other dogs in their care who might need a little more TLC. Since adopting Franco, now Alfie, I've even come out to adoption events and Alfie got to see some of the people who raised him. It's clear he got an amazing start in life. He was regularly taken to puppy parties, used to the car, and play pen/crate trained. He is the most confident, outgoing, and well adjusted puppy I could have asked for and he has truly become a part of our little family. Communication after the adoption was a little more difficult for things like vaccine and neutering but they are all volunteer run and I know these ladies have a ton on their plate. We had a Puppy Party at my son's bar mitzvah last weekend and the kids were all in heaven. All of the parents were marveling at what a great idea it was. Evie and her team (at pups without borders) are the most incredible and generous humans. They take on the unceasing and insurmountable effort of rescuing and rehoming as many pups as possible - often pregnant or mama dogs with pups from unsafe situations or overcrowded shelters. I have been working with them as a volunteer foster since January and in that short time I know first hand that they have made a huge difference in so many lives-- including mine. Last year I had lost my 18.5 yo dachshund and as former bottle feeding kitten foster, I had been wanting to foster with the goal of maximizing the # of doggos that pass through my life. And so on New Years Eve eve, I came across an IG story of an abused mom with 8 puppies that needed an emergency foster. It was time. So I DMed to Pups, and on January 1st, the perfect day to start this journey, I met Mama Rose and her 8 surviving puppies - Yorkshire, Essex, Devon, Avon, Cornwall, Cumbria, Surrey and Peter - who I immediately renamed: Mustache, Buckley, Pinkie, Pudding Face, Potato, Paws, Wigglesssss and Peter. Evie and team were so communicative and helpful at every stage. Every TMI question (often re poop or worms), immediately answered. Every supply, from food, meds, wee wee pads to LAUNDRY detergent and dog toys, promptly delivered. They screened every potential adopters, set up all the intro meetings and home checks. One by one, the puppies were adopted ... except my little Mumu (who I had earmarked from the very beginning). Officially a foster fail BUT since Mu grew up with a big family, he is the friendliest guy and loves foster friends. We've had 2 since his last sib left us for her furever home and now that he's neutered, we'll be bringing in more fosters so that Evie and team can continue their important work. Pups without Borders is an incredible rescue going above and beyond with the limited resources they have. It is so disheartening to see negative reviews from people who clearly have no understanding of how the adoption process works, or how demanding it all can be for those volunteering their time to this organization. If a $10 application fee (that goes towards saving more animals) is too high of a risk for you to take on a dog you may or may not be approved for, it's probably a sign you aren't ready for a dog. Many other rescues have higher fees and will never contact you to let you know you weren't chosen, that is just how it works. I have been following PWB for about four years now since I adopted my fur baby through them, and I am always blown away by the work they continue to take on. I adopted my dog as a young single girl who was renting- I was nervous these qualifications might make it difficult for me to adopt. But I came in open minded about which dog would be right for my situation and Evie found me my best friend. I could really go on for days about the work Evie and her team do, but the countless amazing dogs in incredible happy homes really speak for themselves. Not to mention they put on super fun events to raise money if you'd like to hang out with some pups but aren't quite ready for one of your own yet!! Recently adapted a senior pup who was rescued in Mexico from this rescue group. She is an absolutely sweetheart just like the rescue said. It turned out she is much older than what they told me (based on my vet's assumption) and has health issues(not critical at all) , but so what. They go pull the cute puppies and then they advertise them on petfinder and then they boast about how many applicants the dog has and then they do a war between applicants charging you around $800 for adoptions, turning away people for stupid reasons while the dog stays in a foster home. if you have that many applicants pick someone and give them a home. then go get another one and place that one. dont keep the puppy a year while you collect applications. This is the worst in Dog Rescuing 2025. These people are pawning dogs around instead of saving them. So disappointed. Just go to the dog pounds in your area and pay $100 to take a dog home, don't waste your time at Pups without borders or other similar places. its just like going to a breeder here, except they care less. read more

I can't say enough good thing about this rescue! I've been looking for a VERY long time for a little dog but most rescues I reached out to, didn't get back to me. It was very frustrating! I was on Pet Finder and Adopt-a-Pet every single day! So many dogs got adopted before I heard back! Then I saw the cutest little terrier on Pet Finder and reached out to them. I heard back within a few days and the foster answered all my questions (and, I had a lot because there were certain things I really wanted in my new fur baby - calm, sweet, good with dogs, good with kids, good in the car, etc.). I filled out the application and got to meet the dog and the foster! I ended up spending two and a half hours with them and felt like I not only made a new friend but fell in love with the dog. After a home check, the foster brought the dog to my house and it's been absolutely AMAZING! She was found in Mexico, two years old and 9 lbs., calm, sweet, good with dogs, GREAT with people, potty trained, sleeps through the night next to me and is soooooo easy-going! We adopted Sofie, (then Evie), from Pups without Borders almost two months ago. We are overjoyed to have this bundle of happiness in our house (and silly puppy energy!). Pups without Borders was great to work with. Joanna was fantastic. I had a phone interview with her, sharing info about my husband and I, and our home environment, and she shared information about the organization and general adoption steps. We then set up a time to go meet some pups..though we had our eye on two (Evie and her sister Emelia). We had a meet with a few pups in the front room of the facility, with no pressure to hurry or anything like that - which was nice. Liesl greeted us when we arrived and also shared some info of the pups. She was also very sweet. My husband and I appreciated the time to interact with the pups, as well as watch their behavior. At the time we couldn't have our dachshund meet Evie due to his fear of any place that is similar to a vet or pup hotel. Joanna was accommodating in working with us to schedule a meeting with our older fella Sherlock and Evie at a local park. Sadly Sherlock's health took an unexpected turn and we had to say goodbye before his meeting with Evie. We decided to go ahead with Evie's adoption even though it was a tough time and we are so glad we did! Last summer my husband and I reached out after seeing a dog on Petfinder.com. Our dog, Flynn, had died of cancer during the summer and we felt ready to bring a new dog home. We saw a boxer mix called "Tater Tot" and applied to adopt. We submitted an application, shared photographs of our home and yard, and had a long phone conversation with Joanna (the foster mom). And then....nothing. Seriously. We were ghosted. It did feel bad because we were ready to move on from being sad about the loss of our dog, but we were just waiting, waiting, waiting. And we have always been good pet owners. My husband and I work opposite schedules so our dogs are almost never alone. They live in our home, have regular vet visits, quality food, play sessions in the back yard, a regular live-in petsitter when we go on vacation. Well, we gave up on Paws without Borders and found 2 sweet puppies to love. But what happened? I can tell you the "Tater Tot" is still on Petfinder.com. I feel like Paws without Borders didn't want to home a dog...they wanted me to pay for them to take care of their dog. Back in January, my partner and I were looking for a dog that met our lifestyle--quiet, low energy, cuddly, and confident. We came across a few favorites at Pups without Borders and sent an application. Daniel was our point of contact. We became interested in a litter of puppies fostered by a woman named Nicole. We set up a time to facetime and virtually meet the foster and the puppies. As we asked questions about each of the puppies tempermentas and observed their behaviour, we noticed one puppy who was low energy and seemed well-behaved. We tried asking Nicole about them, and she appeared to be avoiding discussing the puppy's behavior with us. Daniel was not on the Facetime call monitoring our conversation. Promptly after the call, we decided to emphasize our interest in the quiet puppy in the group text with ourselves, Nicole, and Daniel. The foster then said, and I'll quote, "Well...I'm actually adopting him! :)" We were both confused. The puppy was still listed on the PWB website as available for adoption. We back down and instead focus our interest on another puppy in the litter, but the interaction had us feeling sour. We later decide that the other puppy doesn't suit our lifestyle, and continue to look at our puppies. We learn that at the time Nicole declared she was adopting the quiet puppy, she had not submitted any paperwork for him to PWB. Daniel proceeds to tell us that he and the team at PWB believe my partner and I are "perpetual adopters." At this point, we are frustrated. Within our application and during our first conversation with Daniel, we explicity stated we were interested in finding the dog that fit our lifestyle. We had no interesting in adopting a dog just to rehome them; it's irresponsible. The one dog we DID have solid interest in was suddenly adopted by the foster. Honestly, I find myself disappointed in PWB. Their lack of respect towards us makes me feel like they don't truly care for their customers, and by extension, their animals. With so many folks that adopt and then return their dogs, I would imagine they'd be more empathetic and even excited to be helping customers who are committed to finding the perfect pet. We decided to adopt with HIT Living Foundation instead. If you look to adopt from Pups Without Borders, please assert yourself and be wary of miscommunication. There are plenty of other wonderful rescues with animals that deserve to have a great home suitable for them and you. read more

I was happy to support an animal rescue for this event. The space is air conditioned, had room for about 15-20 kids, and because it was Sunday, free street parking out front. This is a long overdue review. I adopted my dog a year ago from Pups without Borders. After losing my dog of 15 years, I was ready to adopt my first rescue dog. I had heard horror stories from others about how hard it was to get approved by a rescue if you worked any days outside of the home or had kids/other pets. I am happy to say that none of those things precluded me from being considered and accepted by Pups without Borders. They interview you to ensure that you are a stable and loving home and a good fit for the dog(s) you select, but they don't make the barriers to adopt unrealistic like many other places do. We are so happy that this street dog from Mexico made her way into our home and can't imagine our lives without her. read more

It's really sad seeing such a wonderful rescue be attacked with false information. I was one of the first adopters and have become close with the rescue and seen what they go through to rescue every dog that comes through their doors. I recently read a review claiming that this rescue is nothing more than a puppy mill. I have volunteered here before and have learned that this rescue is full of passionate angeles that go above and beyond to save the lives of an overwhelming amount of pups. I know that every dog that comes through their doors has a story and history that is beyond devastating. Whether the dog was rescued pregnant on the streets of Mexico or abandoned by they should have been forever home because they got pregnant or neglected. From the outside looking in, you could easily come to the conclusion that they are just another profit maker when a litter of desires or pure breads or mixes come available. What you don't know is that they are the byproduct of an abandoned neglected mother left by a family that was not responsible enough to know the commitment of adopting and Spaulding their pets. Please reach out, ask questions and see what saints this organization is full of. Reviews that state otherwise more than likely didn't get selected because of the rigorous selection process that is necessary so that these animals are never going to be placed in a home or family that is not prepared and repeat the cycle that brought them here read more

They agreed and we went back and forth for a week on price, time, etc and all we were waiting on was the proof of insurance that the venue required. The insurance company was "notoriously slow" they would get back to us, THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT, playing me along, we can do an "event insurance" etc until this, four days before the party: "Oh my goodness I am SO sorry, but since we originally started talking, we ended up agreeing to a Mother's Day party/ adoption event on May 7 from 12-3.
