The Food .. 3 stars ..maybe it was because I went over 30 mins before closing ..and you know..by that time people want to leave ..so maybe it was my luck. The Price.. 3 stars.. I've lived in a neighboring city for more than a decade deciding by on several I'm occasions and always wondered about it. A few of us were craving a salvi breakfast so we gathered here, friend use to live in BF so she knows it from a decade ago and she's picky about trying a pupuseria, so I had high expectations. As we were eating, we discussed how it's important that the beans be on point (not pinto not peruvian) red beans to be exact. My salvi breakfast "morenita" with casamiento(rice and beans) and eggs on my breakfast dish were cooked just as I asked, perfect! The tortillas that come with the breakfast plate, were awesome, they were not super thick, they were perfect to our liking. We were disappointed with the platanos, they weren't ripe... and at the end we ordered a quesadilla to share bcs they only had 1 left, kinda of early to be out since it was only 10 am and why can't they have flavored creamer lol! I know that's extra and still just makes it so much better for some of us that can't do black coffee. A couple of us ordered pupusas to go, they were ok, something important to note they were little, so that's a negative. I'll have to come back and have pupusas there nice and hot maybe I'm wrong on the size or there's an option for regular sized ones. read more

This is our go to spot for Pupusas. It's a lot closer than the one I go to on the westside of LB. It's in a small plaza, which is next to the Chevron gas station. Parking is a bit tight so if you don't find any, park on the streets. Five had the spinach, bean & cheese, and cheese Pupusas. Always great when you it freshly made. The to go orders are good as well. They don't skimp out and make the to go orders, so we like that. The Desayuno #1 and their Platano w/beans and cream are the bomb. For drinks, they have their usual El Salvadorian drink, sodas: Coke, 7up, Diet Coke, Coke in a bottle. They also have Gatorade and beer. I get their horchata. It doesn't taste like the horchata that you would get at Alberto's or those kind of franchises the horchata looks pale but you can taste the cinnamon. Service: The ladies, Wendy & Cecilia are nice. It's either one of them that always ends up serving me or taking my to go orders. I am not Hispanic so when an Asian person comes in from out of the blue, it may be unexpected, but they are nice peeps. It does get busy though, so expect to wait atleast 20 minutes for your food. read more

I live just a few minutes away from here and I have come a few times and each time I do it's such a treat! I ordered three pupusas to share with the hubby. Two pork and cheese ($3.75 each) and one cheese and bean($3.50). You get a side of pickled cabbage slaw and hot sauce. Everything was delicious and filling!! Service is good even with us not speaking much Spanish. We took our food to go but the ambiance of the place feels like home. read more

Best pupusas with best price. I will drive all the way from OC to get these. I love the authentic El Salvador decor inside the restaurant , definitely makes the experience of eating there so much better. Service is quick, takes about 15 minutes for your pupusas to come out but they're made fresh to order so that's actually great timing. Their yuca and chicharon is fire, plate actually comes packed not like other places I've gone. I love this place! read more

We love going here for pupusas and quesadillas. As you can see, we were almost done with the quesadilla when I took the picture. I recommend their pupisas de chicharron con queso. The waitresses do take a long time to come check up on you and/or bring you the bill, but if you call them over, they'll gladly come to you. The food is good and totally worth it. read more

What can I say when I crave Salvadorian food? This is a place I go to. I prefer going in the morning. I like the size of the pupusas they are giant. I ordered the chicharrón con frijol, Bomb. I ordered the revueltas as well. I also ordered fried planteen with beans and crema to accompany the Pupusas. Oh my God, I am in heaven. I wash it down with a giant cup of ensalada. They have way too many dishes to write on this review. Their Customer Service is friendly and fast. I recommend you put your order in by phone or you can wait patiently at the restaurant. They are made fresh so they will take some time to make. Price I can compare a decent dish to what I ordered in any other dish in a Mexican restaurant that is probably like $25- $30 give or take. One thing I did order that I did not like was, Pan con Pavo. It was not authentic. To give you a visual. It looks like chicken salad stuffed in a bolillo. And it's sad because it's one of my favorite dishes to order when I visit a Salvadorian restaurant. But not here. On the plus side is It's conveniently located next to the gas station on the corner of Clark and Alondra, the restaurant is spacious enough to sit Big families. One thing that it does lack is parking. But I prefer to go home, which is a block away. So I can pig out in my comfort zone and not be judge. Sorry, I do eat my Pupusas with a fork and a knife. This place is like any savadorian food joint . But what they stand out on is good food. Everything I ordered was great . We ordered pupusas , yuca frita con chicharrones and casamiento . The pupusas had the perfect mix of cheese chicharron and beans . Most places put more beans than anything else not this place . We've had their pupusas several times. They are tasty and so is their cabbage. We always order beans with jalapeños- no cheese. They are usually very accommodating but the last time we tried to place an order they called us back to tell us that they had to be beans only. That if we wanted jalapeños, we needed to order with cheese. They wanted to force us to get beans only which is not what we wanted so we had to cancel our order. I don't know if it depends on who's working at the moment but their service should be consistent. read more

This restaurant serves up some pretty good pupusas. Yes it is a hole in the wall with a small parking lot but this place should be taken into consideration if you are looking for authentic Salvadoran food. I ordered 3 pupusas: Chicken and cheese, Revuelta (pork, beans and cheese) and cheese and pork. All of them were delicious. They take credit and debit cards. Be mindful that this place charges $1 extra for debit and credit card use. Also if you need to get some gas there is a Chevron next door. After all these years of passing up this restaurant, I finally decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. Staff was friendly. Nice addition to the City of Bellflower. read more

Came here to try out the pupusa since I love pupusa, but unfortunately, the experience was not up to the standards. The servers was bad. They didn't come and checked to fill up my coffee. They were trying to charge me for the takeout containers they gave me a tinfoil for my pupusa, but I wanted to add sauce and cabbage mix. They took forever to charge me. I literally could have walked out without paying, the service overall was just terrible. I work in the hospitality industry as well so I know how it is when a restaurant gets busy. This place was that busy for it to be a bad service, this will be my first and last time coming here, I will never come again unfortunately read more

I ordered beef soup for my sick relative that was hospitalized. I loved that when I told the Ladies in the kitchen that the soup was for a family member that was hospitalized that was craving soup the ladies packed the soup perfectly as if it would be her own relative. The aroma coming out of that kitchen inside was amazing she was making pork chicharrón. I will most definitely return to enjoy a sit down dinner. Once I open the container in the hospital the quality of the soup was 10/10 and my relative loved it woke her up as she smelled the delicious soup. Thank you comalapa! Just as other reviewers stated, this place has the WORST service I have ever experienced. And just as others, I too experienced racism. I walked up to the counter to order to go. The lady there was so rude when I asked if the pupusas are made to order or if they were all ready made. She actually looked upset that she had to take my order. I noticed that they had Chile Rellenos and I asked if they were Mexican style because I didn't know that Salvadorans made them. She replied in Spanish with a disgusting look on her face that salvadorians also make Chile Rellenos. I paid with a CC and noticed that there was a difference of $1.00 from the receipt she gave me to the text alert I got from my CC. Since it was not posted anywhere that there was a service charge, I asked her about it. She then rudely lifted up a plaque hanging on the wall and there was the sign. I don't have x-ray vision to see what's under the wall plaques. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and I strongly advise anyone against going there. They apparently don't care about Customer Satisfactio. Horrible place. read more

While the food was good, this was the most extreme case of racism I have experienced at an establishment. For context my boyfriend is Salvadoran and more pale. I am mixed with black and Salvadoran but mixed presenting. The whole time the staff would only address him and never talk to me. He speaks better Spanish than me so that wasn't much of a problem but I started to notice that service was only being provided to him. First we asked for waters and they only brought one cup and gave it to him. He asked for another cup and again they handed it to him. After we had both finished our water she came to refill the waters but only refilled his!!! Just the whole energy was weird and many actions were made by the staff to make me feel excluded. Just beware that they are racist or at least colorist here. read more

The pupusa's here were delicious. It's an authentic Salvadorian restaurant. We Stopped by after dropping off my daughters friend at her house. She pointed the place out and said, that the pupuseria was good. We got the revueltas, the chicharon and beans, the beans and cheese, the calabasas, the vegetarian ones and brought home the chicken pupusas-which the waitress said, they had just added it to the Menu. They were all tasty. My favorite was the chicharon. The salsa and the cabbage mix was also delicious. They had plenty on the menu. And I imagine there other items were also delicious as well. I was here with a friend a couple of weeks ago to grab some food kind of a last-minute thing. We arrived at about 8:00 p.m. and the second we walked in, we were told that they were only doing orders to go. The hours state that they are open until 9:00 p.m. but okay I get it the food takes a while to prepare and we might have been there until 9:00. We waited about 20 to 25 minutes as we watched other people pick up their phone orders, and we finally got our food to go. We're not from the area, so we just decided to eat in the car even though we could have been in the restaurant at a table. I ordered 4 queso con loroco, and my buddy got revueltas. I also ordered nuegados and chilate. Right away, the pupusas were super greasy and very easy to pull apart. The Masa was still kinda soft, and I could barely taste the loroco with all the cheese. My buddy ordered 3, and he could only do 2 and tossed the last one. I finished mine because I paid almost $30 bucks for 4, a drink and nuegados and chilate. After we ate, we split and went home. Once I got home, I wanted to try the nuegados, and they were incredibly soggy to the point where they fell apart when I picked them up. The taste was just not faithful to what I know. The only thing that was decent was the chilate. I had to toss the nuegados BC they were just not good. Overall, what I got was not fantastic and doesn't compare to some of the other restaurants I've been to. The service was whatever. I wish they could have at least let us eat in the restaurant as it was freezing that day. Probably not coming back to this one anytime soon. read more

The food took forever, they have so much business and the food is decently price so they should be able to afford another waiter especially when their restaurant is really packed. I've been to one too many pupusa places in the area and still have yet to find one that's better. Don't overthink it, just order or try it out for yourself. Prices are decent as well so you don't have much to lose! The amount of years i've been here... never had a complaint. The women at the front are always kind to me and not sure why people are being overly sensitive in these comments. I would agree the pace is slow inside but not rude. They need more staff waitresses to clean tables. It's very hot in there and they take forever to give you your food which the food is very pricey for the quantity they give you. their pastries that they have next to the register are hard and old. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially to people that do not speak Spanish. read more
