He started with the sweet corn tamale. We had a strange time there. I wanted to like it because I've been driving by it for more than 20 years and finally stopped. The service has an abrupt style. You are barked at to say whether you want to eat there or take out. You are then assigned a table instead of letting people sit where they would feel comfortable. The booths are not comfortable. We wanted to try just one pupusa because we didn't know them. I tried the most unusual one that had some kind of flower in it. We were treated like public enemy number one for only ordering one. They are made fresh because they take a long time to arrive. They plopped down the plate and left. After a few minutes the silverware shows up. Then a few more minutes and the slaw and sauces show up. Weird to leave the customer in the lurch. I should have ordered a different stuffing because the flowers did not add any specific flavor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall right next to Seven Eleven and is across from the fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. Parking is a little limited and this is a popular spot so expect a bit of a wait. From the moment you walk in the restaurant is very clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They have lots of seating throughout the restaurant. For food, I ordered a cheese pupusa, rice and beans and a corn tamale. The pupusa was delicious and the corn tamale was very tasty too. They also provide cabbage slaw and salsa to accompany the food. My whole meal with a drink was less than $15. The pricing is very affordable.
