Happy to report, we had a tasty meal here yesterday late afternoon. the food came out fast and the service was good! The ambiance is good but a little dated or stale or something. I really, really wanted to like this location since I like the two food trucks that are outside of it. I had a pambazo and it was ok. My mom had the ceviche tostada and it just lacked flavor. She also got the HUGE portion of the enchiladas michoacanas. Those were good but the chicken legs that came with it lacked flavor and they were overdone. The service was friendly and everything had a good price point. We also moved from the back to the restaurant to the front because the scent of the cleaning solutions used to clean the bathrooms was too overwhelming. Overall, I'll probably stick to the food trucks and not the restaurant which is a huge bummer. read more

Excellent as always grabbed an fruit punch agua outside from Elenita which was made by Pablo inside Fondita then came in sat down and ordered an asada plate and enchiladas michoacan and everything was delicious even the salsa bean dip.and guacamole also got a sample of the watermelon agua. Perfect place for a late night meal, it's hard to find a place that makes enchiladas michuacanas and this place didn't disappoint. They have an outside food truck and patio that you can use if you don't want to be inside, this place seems to always be packed. Best dressed tamales I've ever had! They top them off with crema and queso, so darn good! The elote is also very good, I highly recommend getting your mexican food fix here. read more

Pablo is one of the most friendliest server ever. He walks around and talks to his customers, really enjoying everyone's company. He walks around with a smile and seems to really enjoy his job. He's super hospitable and gave great suggestions from the menu. We ended up getting a bunch of queso tacos which were authentic and flavorful. Beautiful and colorful restaurant. They don't have Dr Pepper, no Roy Roger's. Chips were the NASTIEST chips I can't expect are even good enough for the dollar store to carry. Cardboard. Ordered fresh chips and they never came, even though he said they were coming twice. Never got a refill on my water. Waiter never returned but visited a new table 3 times with 10 people at it. My favorite place for tamales and elotes. I love all the fixings they put on them. So delicious! I also love their steak tacos. Staff is attentive and quick. This place gets pretty busy after 6:30pm. Called for takeout and a guy who didn't speak English answered. I asked for English and a lady comes on the line. She asked if I wanted to order from the Taco Truck outside or the restaurant and I told her the restaurant since the truck didn't have combo plates. I ordered the 2 chicken taco combo plate that comes with rice and beans for $16 plus tax. The tacos were mini street tacos. Very overpriced for what you get. Taste was so-so. This is right on the corner of Sebastopol Rd and very busy to get in and out of. They do have a large parking lot. A little confusing but they do have a food truck on site if you just want quick bites like tacos, quesadillas, etc. Or you can order from the main restaurant which have breakfast, combo plates, fajitas, etc things that have to be cooked longer. Delicious food! When you sit down you're greeted with Beans with cheese dip and salsa with chips. I love the table salsa but for some reason the salsa on the entrees is super hot so I always order my food without the salsa and add the table salsa after. Carnitas super burritos are excellent and The nachos are so big they can feed 3 people. Service is always great, and on the weekends they do karaoke. Wow, this place is awesome. I got a regular burrito that was enough to fill me up with just half. The left over half was just as tasty when I reheated it at home. The tacos are a good size with plenty of meat in them. This place gets super busy, especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, but the staff does a wonderful job making sure customers are taken care of quickly. The menu is pretty extensive (and we're only two people) so it's an admittedly small sampling. We tried tacos: buche, cabeza, lengua - not terrible, but certainly far from the best we've had in the area. We also tried the posole, which was pretty good. Finally, we had the carne asada plate, which was the worst of the bunch - the meat was super thin and didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Their beans and rice were great, though. This review is for inside the Taqueria. We just went a few nights ago, because it was late on a week night, and the choice of restaurants open late on a weeknight are very slim around Santa Rosa. Also, this place is pretty close to our house so its convenient. Anyhow, we had a wonderful meal as always. My girlfriend wanted to try something different than her usual vegetarian burrito. So she asked our waitress what she would recommend? The waitress proceeded to say don't you usually get the vegetarian burrito?? I was surprised that she remembers exactly what my girlfriend orders... So she proceeded to ask, are you a vegetarian? How thoughtful... the gf replies with no I'm not. So the waitress responds with, you should try the Enchiladas Verde. So my girlfriend got that, and I got the Taquitos doratos with chicken. Both dishes were fantastic!!! I'd also like to mention, I have read some other peoples reviews for this place, and they seem to be disappointed. It seems to me they might be disappointed because they are ordering burritos etc. And that's really not what this place is good for. You have to get out of the box, and try some more traditional Mexican dishes when you visit La Fondita. Because this is where they really shine!
