I have eaten a lot of pupusas. these were not the best and these were not the worst. The place itself was pretty cool the staff was very friendly. The curtido didn't cut it for me. Just average. If I was close by and craving El Salvadorian food I'd go back.

Chicken tamales, fresh pupaseras y pollo sopes

Building very clean, service slow but that's customary with most ethnic food joints. Prices better then Tejas Grill and La Esperanza but menu is small and not impressive. Slight Communication barrier if you don't speak spanish. They offer typical Mexican dishes that are not authentic to El Salvador, only reason I go are for the homemade delicious pupaseras. Squash and cheese is the best, horchata is good also. The locals all get the soups on the weekend. Chicken tamales were a good deal at 2 for $3 but nothing special at all. Sopes here are much different then Mexican, good flavor but come in a small crispy almost ice cream cone like shell. Not the tortilla I'm used to, wouldn't order that again. Only go for those fresh pupaseras.

It says 3 per order for $1.75- I got charged $5.25- what a cheat.

This is unacceptable anytime but even more so during Covid. I had an incident with the soup that had beans that were as hard as rocks. When I mentioned it to the owner he dismissed me like I was crazy or trying to get something for nothing. My son should have heeded my advice and got his cannoli elsewhere! We were greeted by a friendly nice woman host , and as usual Privitos was very clean& the tables /booths were social distanced & the wait staff & chef were attentive and friendly & they wore masks&their gloves at all times. It is very Covid SAFE!!!! Now I had the Salmon& vegetables, and homemade Vegetable soup "Soo DELISH" Best I ever had,& the salmon melted in my mouth& the Vegetable Soup was better than my moms, she use to make for me growing up. Now my lovely wife had an out of this world meatball parmigiana& she got chicken tortellini soup, She said it knocked het socks off. The meatballs were so homemade and moist, and fresh, the marinara sauce was incredible, the sandwich had such a wonderful taste & her homemade soup was mouth watering. We winded up taking home a chicken and shrimp Chardonnay to go for our son, who was still at work, which came with beef orzo soup and an OUTSTANDING SEEDED BAGUETTE . Thank You again Mark for another incredible meal& thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday. You are a superb chef. I give you Ten

My friend and I came here after running some errands because it was near her house, and I enjoyed the time spent. She got sopes, and I ordered a torta Cubana. This thing came out massive, and I'm surprised that I even managed to finish half of it-- the other half was finished off a few hours later by my brother, who discovered the takeout box and said it was the best sandwich he'd ever had. I'm not surprised; it had three different meats, topped with egg, avocado, jalapeño, onion, queso, and mayo-- A nice choice for a bodybuilder overall! Haha Good to know a little Spanish if you come here. It just makes the process a little easier, because the descriptions of food in English can be a smidge lacking (with some minor typos). Sidenote: The salsa verde is spicier than the salsa roja, and has a good kick. I like spiciness, but sometimes it's the opposite in other spots. Thusly, I always like to taste first and verify. That verde was happily smothered into my sandwich, and I had no price problems like other people reported. The menu seems to be updated on that, and I paid a fair amount for what was ordered.

I had the shrimp tacos and honestly they were not what I was expecting but maybe that was my fault (i though they were going to be hot, but it contained all cold ingredients: cold shrimp, sour cream, queso fresco, cold chopped tomatoes and cold flour tortillas). I'd still come here again but would just order something different. We did have amazing elote, so I would suggest ordering that: it's $7 per corn cob but totally worth it! For dessert with had the churros with ice cream and that was the most amazing dessert ever! We sat outside and enjoyed the calmness but service was a little slow because of that. They have very nice decor inside so I wouldn't mind sitting inside too.

Seem to do a good takeout business as well, as we saw DoorDashers coming and going to the little counter all night. They have a little display case with to-go desserts at the hostess desk. (TRES LECHES!!!) Soda's are all bottled, not fountain. No alcohol, but you can BYOB and add it to some mixers they offer - like margarita by the glass or pitcher. Parking lot is tiny for a strip mall that is almost exclusively dining options, but we managed to find a spot in the back by the dumpsters. The overall experience checked every box. Give it a try!
