Let me backup, the meal started with the best homemade chips and what I thought was a delicious salsa, was in fact refried black beans which I never had before! Karla explained she doesn't use canned beans and my mind was blown! 1 coworker loved her fajitas and she almost ate all of it, which is rare. My other coworker and I loved the carnitas taco, but our favorite were the shrimp tacos. I had 1 grilled shrimp and 1 fried and both were delicious. I asked for the honey lime vinegarette on the grilled shrimp and topped both with the hot as heck sauce on the side and I could have eaten 10. Everything was great, and I hope to go again. Was not pleased with this place. The chicken in the chicken quesadilla tasted weird, like possibly different part of the chicken? I don't know but my tastebuds were honest. The birria tacos I got were good, not authentic. This place is not authentic at all. Let the name of the place be your first red flag "Ingrata" means ungrateful woman. Who names a restaurant that?! The toilet seat in the bathroom slid off, wasn't attached whatsoever. Someone should fix that. read more

While visiting Camden, NJ, I randomly came across La Ingrata while searching for a place for dinner. The restaurant is a quaint place with about 6 - 8 tables. It had a great vibe with black and white pictures of historic Mexican actors and artists. A very fun atmosphere. Included eith your meal is a tapa that consists of chips with beans and topped with maybe a Cotija cheese. I ordered the steak chilaquiles with Verde sauce. It was very delicious and tasted homemade. It didn't taste like it was ordered off of a menu but at a family member's home. The staff was very friendly and personable. Definitely a top restaurant to visit while in Camden. read more

Came here for lunch. Nice vibe inside. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Tried a bunch of stuff, the corn and tacos. For the tacos, it comes in order of 3, no side bar like some taco shops where you add your own toppings. This comes with cilantro, onion, side of radish, lime. Given 2 sides of tasty spicy sauces. We also got a small plate of nachos with bean sauce for free as an app and they were tasty! Corn: Large, lots of cheese on it, and was very tasty Tacos: I enjoyed the al pastor the most. My 2nd favorite was the fish, which was battered and had a nice crunch. The sauce was really tasty it came with. Then the shrimp, which I expected also battered but weren't, tasted a little plain. Could have used the fish sauce honestly. Last was the arabe, which the sauce it came with was a bit sweet for my taste. Overall, it was very tasty. I ordered food to-go from here based on ratings. The parking lot is very small but the place is beautifully decorated and clean. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted and when I told them I was there to pick up food, They were able to help me very quickly. I ordered a birria pizza, guacamole and chips and a carnitas burrito for my boyfriend. The guac was fresh and perfectly salted. The pizza was delicious but I was missing the consommé for it, and didn't realize it was missing from the bag till I got home. The burrito was good but it was extremely greasy and it sort of ruined the flavor of the burrito. read more

First we ordered the still-sizzling queso fundido, which was super rich and decadent - the cheese pull was crazy! For the mains I got the gorditas with carnitas. Honestly, the juiciest and most tender carnitas I've ever had. My girlfriend got the carne asada which was super flavorful and came with all sorts of things - rice, beans, avocado, queso Oaxaca, nopales, tortillas...overall, the portions were generous, the prices affordable, and the food absolutely delicious! Probably one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants I have ever been to as well as the cleanest!! I had a bowl of shrimp soup that was the special that day. Huge, hot and delicious. The shrimp were quite big along with nice chunks of potatoes and carrots. The portion was very generous. Very tasty!! My husband had the shrimp tacos. Three per order. Also quite tasty and filled with shrimp, cheese cilantro and onions. The owner came in after we got there and made her way over to our table to welcome us. Very personable and engaging. Big black and white, framed photos of movie stars, comedians and entertainers from back in the day. So cozy and comfortable. Bright and cheery. Just loved it. One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. If you're in Camden/Pennsauken, or just passing through on the way to or from Philly, La Ingrata definitely is worth a stop. I had tacos campechanos (not on the menu, but they made them quickly and deliciosos), but saw people around me with beautiful Tortas, Burritos, and more. Authentic Oaxaca, Puebla, and CDMX style food from a proud owner/chef/designer/entrepreneur/mom. Cute, setting decorated with blow-up photos of Mexican entertainers like Cantinflas.
