I ordered a chicken tamal and chicken pupusa.They make them salvadorian style and they are bomb.com. Their curtido is on the spicy side though. I came with a friend from El Salvador and she said that salvadorians cook their masa for their tamales. Mmmm... it tastes so different from Mexican ones. The chicken one had potatoes, bell pepper, and garbanzo beans in it. I loved it- oh, it also had an olive inside- I didn't eat that. The chicken pupusa was very cheesy. The cheese they use is tasty... not just some mozzarella. It doesn't have a ton of chicken inside but it was served fresh which was nice. I prob should have eaten it first bc I wasn't fast enough and my cheese got cold. The food only took about 10 min. The inside has lots of tables. Their bathroom was clean. I think there were only two workers, both young ladies. What's weird was there was no menu up and no paper menus out. Thank goodness I looked online and figured out what I wanted ahead of time. I also ordered fries. Their red sauce wasn't as good as other pupusa places tho. I'd def come back... prob this weekend. Update: so we came back again two days later. This place at the date we went to the location was very hot the AC in the dinning room was not working properly. That day it was about 110 outside. Location appears to be an old Taco Bell converted. Service was friendly but gosh it was slow. If it's because they make it to order that great but at least check up on us. Make sure we are doing ok. No wait on a weekday at lunchtime. The workers only spoke Spanish, which was no problem with 2 of us being able to translate. The menu is also in Spanish. I ordered 2 pupusas de chorizo and 2 revueltas. They came out in about 10 minutes or so, steaming hot and fresh. These things hit the spot and checked all the boxes for me as far as pupusas go! One of us ordered the plantain dish with beans and cream. It was my first time trying, given Im not super familiar with Salvadoran food. It was absolutely incredible, and I'm so grateful he shared! Saddens me to say this, but I spent about 45 minutes waiting for my food which I usually wouldn't be that upset about except for the fact that when I got my food (casamiento #19 on the menu) the beans were dry and the eggs were salty. Not only that, but we decided to take our food to go because I had somewhere to be and it was just taking too long, but when I opened my order of "tacos", they just put the carne asada with the tortillas on top! I started laughing because it was so dumb that I had to assemble my own tacos before driving. Not located in the best area, but cozy enough inside, I found that staff do speak English despite reviews to the contrary. However, 20 minutes to receive 2 takeout pupusas seemed to be a bit much. In the light of those, here's my experience: SERVICE: the place was mostly empty, but service was solid; timely; not effusively ingratiating, but perfectly decent PUPUSAS et. al.: Enjoyable revueltos pupusa; the masa did not have the rich corn fragrance that is the hallmark of great pupusas to me, and the cheese was a bit odd; but the nice crunch outside and lovely goop inside was fun to eat. Had a chipilin tamale and it was all right. The slaw that comes with the pupusa was light on flavor, but the weak vinegary/sweet squeeze bottle sauce helped. SALSA: I thought the little dish of salsa served with the chips was a highlight - - it is a light, thin concoction, but with onion and cilantro that was so fragrant, I was drinking it out of the cup. Great places for pupusas. Although they have recently increased the dozen price from $12 to $15 it's still a great deal. If you don't order ahead expect a wait because they are done when ordered. The pupusas are what you would expect from a dollar menu item not so much filling but they still have a great taste and taste better with the and cabbage topping they give you. Never really tried anything else from here but will keep coming back for the pupusas.
