Overall experience: They must have new staff because service was pretty good-- then again, I was the only customer here on a Wednesday at 3pm... the prices are a little high compared to other places, but this is a bar/restaurant. Food: the complimentary chips were decent. I let them sit a while, so they got soggy but the salsa was pretty good (kinda sweet). The soles were amazing. The toppings were very fresh and Pastir was plenty flavorful. I wish I had a steak knife for the bottom part- the regular knife made me feel like a was sawing a tree.. I can't imagine a kid having to do that. The Pupusas are a good size and flavorful; Pupusas had a little too little stuffing, but they were still good. Service: Friendly and patient with my indecisiveness. They were not busy, and food came at a good time. Environment: The environment is decent. I expected a little more cultural decoration on the walls since it represents so many countries. The bathrooms were decently clean and smelled wonderful. I was picking up an order and had a hard time finding the spot because it is completely non-descript. This establishment is for the ones who know, the beau monde of Centro America. The seating was very homely and well appointed. I think may even have karaoke or parties, it just gave off that vibe. The servers were very responsive and complimentary because they provided me with fresh chips and salsa while I waited on the order to be prepared. They were crisp and held up to the salsa very well. I went this last Saturday in the day with a guy friend that invited me. It was around 11 in the morning. He had the Camarones Sarandiados/Sautéed spicy Shrimp. They were more like the Chinese "shell on" Salt & Pepper Shrimp? They looked pretty good. And I had the 8pc Chicken wings that were batter fried and they were delicious! The 8 pc felt like 16, let me tell you...Delish! The fries they came with, were homemade and were very good! The Menu, I noticed was different now! Many more selections with like 7-8 laminated pages of amazing photos of most of the items! I was impressed. And for sure the food and the service is tops! Would highly recommend. Their Karaoke is available Fri & Sat nights 8-10pm. They have both Central American and Mexican food on their menu! The food is better and more nicely plated than before? This place is worth trying. My experience at Centro America Restaurant & Bar was subpar and disappointing. The location is hard to find and get to in the corner of a rundown mini mall. I went to the location because I was going to use a Restaurant.com gift certificate, but the staff and manager refused to accept it. I've seen in other Yelp reviews that they refuse to take the certificates as well so this is blatant false advertising. Even worse was that none of the servers or staff could speak English so communication over the gift certificate issue and ordering was very difficult to work out. The restaurant was pretty empty when I came in at around 3:45pm and dark. They do have a lot of variety on the menu as it seems like they want to serve dishes from multiple Central American countries like Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, etc. I ordered Steak Carne Asada which is hard to screw up as I wanted something safe. It was one of the worst dishes that I've had. The steak was dry, thin and lacking flavor. The salad on the side was just shredded lettuce essentially. Soggy fries and bean paste that was just meh. Even the tortillas or whatever I got were awful. Maybe it's a different style than what I'm used to with regular Americanized Mexican food, but it was one of the worst dishes that I've eaten. Overall, I will not be going back to Centro America and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Came here while visiting Vegas. We ordered pupusas, they were a bit thinner this what I'm used to but were good, not oily, ordered a carne asada and was delicious. Despite the name "Centro America", some Mexican dishes make the menu- but they're well-executed. Menu has pages dedicated to Honduran and Salvadorian food, as well as tons of seafood dishes. Each table gets a complimentary basket of tortilla chips with a tomato sauce (not spicy) and crumbled cotija cheese- very light take on nachos, tasty and simple. #1 Combo includes a spectacular chile relleno, a really great cheese enchilada, and a sadly-soggy crispy taco with really dry chicken. The #74 plate (forgot the fancy name) has a thin beef cutlet with a good char and juicy flavor, along with grilled shrimp. Both plates come with tasty rice and beans. Despite their giant sign in the window about their pupusas, I was underwhelmed by them- not much cheese or flavor, even when picking the revueltas version. Interior and exterior both have seen better days. Service was friendly. Seems like full bar is available- saw several margs and beer specials.
