Thank goodness for the yelp waitlist. Had to wait over an hour, like 1.5 hrs. Got there lil after an hour and waited like another 30mins. Good thing we weren't hungry right away and ran errands around town beforehand Got sat in the side room which was quieter and with less people. The air was blowing straight at it which was kinda night on this how day but made us cold the whole time and food cold faster. So not sure what I would rather have had being too hot or too cold but a happy medium would have been good or just say away from the straight blowing a/c box They were would of NY steak where I would have wanted to try since it was an option between that and ribeye. Got the ribeyes instead and it was pretty good. Got all the sides and veggies as well as black garlic ramen with chili sauce add. Ramen noodles had a good consistency with a harder chew on them. Meats were good and ample amounts of garlic, which we are all of them. Stomach felt good afterwards so I was glad about that. Sometimes these not so good meat BBQ joints mess up my stomach with too much fatty piece and not enough meat. But this place is solid and stays packed up until the end. Got to take away the lil ice creams home to save for later Service was great until the end, she seemed to have dropped the ball and stopped checking on us and forgot to put on some items. Had to ask several times for sesame oil with salt mixture and again at the end which was ordered with the 1st order a while ago. Actually wasn't happy about that since that's probably my #1 sauce to go with my meats. Where do I start? We decided to get on the waitlist for this restaurant for my cousin's birthday. We got in queue for the waitlist earlier in the day for a 8pm sit down for a large party. We arrived at 7:30 and the entire party got there by 8. Unfortunately, we weren't seated until 9:30pm. We were told there would be a 30-40 min wait which ultimately turned into 1.5 hours later. When we all walked back to the table it didn't fit our party. So we asked for an extra table, which was open next to us but Hostess seemed stressed & made us feel like we were a hassle. Our server was nice but he only took our order and didn't come back, other people took over. They only came by to take our orders, we asked for water refill multiple times and it didn't come until the end of the meal. food was good but given the wait time and the inconsistency in the service, I would not be coming back. read more

Came here to say on 6/26, we weren't sure what to expect as we were a very big group. The waitlist was unnerving because we had out of town people who were coming and no reservation address could be provided until 2 hours before 8:00 PM. Miraculously, we were seated semi privately as we were 20 in our group. Service was top-notch. The place was a lot bigger than Spring Mountain, which was a good thing. All the Wagyu beef were melt in your mouth! The only thing that was missing was the imitation snow crab from Spring Mountain. But other than that, it was definitely worth it. Finally made it to 888 Japanese BBQ Encore last Friday, and it was definitely worth the wait! We came with family and friends (including three little ones) and checked in online around 5:30 PM. We were originally quoted a 1.5-hour wait but ended up being seated in about 45 minutes. The service was great, and the food came out quickly throughout the meal. We chose Menu B, and it had everything we wanted. The quality of the meats was top-tier--our favorites were the kalbi short ribs, garlic pork belly, and hirami miso. The sushi was just as impressive and didn't feel like an afterthought. I loved that they offered nigiri, specialty rolls, carpaccio, and poke. Everything tasted fresh, and my personal favorites were the Red Dragon Roll and the spicy mayo salmon nigiri. We were way too full to try the ramen or cold noodles, so we'll definitely be back for those. I also loved the fun atmosphere, especially when the staff came out dancing to 50 Cent for birthday celebrations--it made the whole restaurant feel so lively. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a free ice cream! My boyfriend ordered the yuzu cheesecake, and it was incredibly light, creamy, and full of bright citrus flavor. I have been super craving some Japanese BBQ. We tried to eat here once before but the wait was over 3 hours. You can join the Yelp waitlist but you have to be vigilant. I wanted to get there around 5pm, I looked at the waitlist and there was no wait so you cannot join but we'd be reminded (which didn't work as we came closer to 5.) We left the house and I tried to join the waitlist a few times in the car but again, no wait so you cannot join. About 5 min from the restaurant, I try again (while constantly checking my Yelp app) and I'm in 6th place. This felt more competitive than trying to secure Michelin star restaurant reservations in Paris. IYKYK. We only had to wait about 15 min longer than the estimated time but we were sat and finally got to try this place that everyone raves about. The place is a bit dark and moody but I kind of liked it. I liked the table separations but I also wish I wasn't so preoccupied with the first date happening next to us. It was like dinner and a show though so I can't be too mad. LOL! I was impressed with the cocktails to be quite honest. I tried the bruleed guava and blackberry highballs. Very tasty and quite fun to get. My husband ordered a yuzu margarita and it was quite lovely. The food was really good. We got the C menu because I needed some quality meat in my life. Everything we ordered was delicious. You have options too if you're in a budget you can choose option A which is only $25 plus tax and if you want a little bit more meat option B is $35 and C is their premium which $45. I also love their sauces. Cambria who was our waitress was so good I love her she was very accommodating and always smiling. The only thing that I didn't like is the drink. I ordered the strawberry mojito it was super sour and I asked if they can replace it for me thankfully they did I chose the lychee drink to replace it with I mean it taste a bit better but once I mixed it it literally tasted like water. Where do I start? Drove from ABQ to Vegas and we were hungry! Decided to combine two of our favorite meals into one meal so yelped ayce kbbq and sushi and found this place. They have two locations and this was had a shorter wait time so I wait listed on yelp (love this feature) and we only waited about 10 minutes before we were seated. Alessandra was our waitress and she was sweet and non judgmental when we ordered tons of food. The food came out quickly and what impressed me was that everything for the most part was really good! We knew we could eat that much so we just did option A which still got us rib eyes and good meat and sushi! I got the rolls I liked and hubs got his kbbq fix. They also have ramen which the noodles were chewy bouncy but the broth lacked depth. That was probably the only dish that was not spot on. Loved the dragon roll the best. The small intestine had the goop inside so that was yucky. Missed having all the bon chon from korean bbq spots but hubs said for getting both bbq and sushi this is now our go to spot when in Vegas! It's a dark room, but just enough light to read the menus. One thing though, the room gets smoky. I think the fans are in the tables, but they couldn't remove enough of the smoke at times! We got in at the right time and didn't wait long at all. Booths were plenty big for four, but would be a bit tight for more.. further you only get 1 burner in the normal booths, so 6 eating off the one burner may be a bit tight. That said, get your 3 best buds and go have an amazing meal here. Service is so quick and friendly. We did opt for the biggest menu, but definitely could have done well with the middle option for $10 less. That said, the meats that were only on the big menu were wagyu and the most delicious bites. But if you just wanted all you can kalbi... save the money and go with the middle! We will definitely be back with a smaller group and with the big eaters!! I didn't even mention the non-bbq items that were also delicious and quick to arrive on the table (so you have something to eat while things are cooking!). We went to lvac gym ahead of time, checked on the list in-person and then waited at Starbucks - If the waitlist is full, you can try to check-in in person. - waiting options: There's a Starbucks in the same plaza, and LVAC nearby. I ended up getting a text in 15min, and a call a minute after to physical check-in with the host. They were able to seat me and my SO 1st, knowing that the rest of our party of 4 was going to make it on 10min. Staff were super duper nice. Great customer service! For a bdays, they'll offer a cheesecake (yzu, hazelnut, matcha), candle and servers singing happy bday! Came here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch with my husband and we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server Allen was awesome! He checked on us throughout our meal and was very informative. We chose the C menu. I loved the Wagyu items. It melted in my mouth and it had a charred taste to it. My mouth is already watering! The meats were good quality! They were supper tender! They are absolutely locked in on their operations and I want to write this review commemorate how much joy I received from this establishment. Firstly interior design and music selection during dining was superb. No complaints they know what their audience really appreciates. Service was also fantastic! Our waiter was very kind and attentive to all our needs. The food review is outstanding. The quality of their foods is definitely on the upper echelon on their tier list! I have to say I appreciate the variety of sides that come with the menu option as it elevates the entire experience leagues above any other establishment. Hands down, this entire franchise isn't favorite ayce bbq experience. Yes there's a long wait (I added us to the waitline at the hotel and left to arrive at the earliest time prediction). We waited 2 hours in total but saved 1.5 hour from waiting at the restaurant. You actually get a long of bang for your buck for roughly $35 pp. We chose this option for more beef options (especially galbi) but not necessarily the fancy ones. The sushi and nigiri are possibly the best that I've had at an AYCE because they aren't overloading it with rice. The nigri had a dot of rice. Coming from Colorado where AYCE sushi is a scam, this was a fresh of breath air. The meats were all very delicious and not too fatty. Service is incredible despite the never ending run. They're quite quick and attentive. They offer to change your grill without you chasing someone down. If an order was missed, they'll go check on it. Friendly staff. We were here around the last hour so they were cleaning and spilled water near our table and offered free ice cream for the mess. It's a large restaurant with plenty of seats but they're all occupied. Definitely worth trying out if you aren't from the area. read more

We promised the 7 year old AYCE sushi while we were in Vegas but we were also with my MIL who doesn't love sushi. So I went looking for a restaurant that served both sushi and BBQ and found 888 Japanese BBQ Encore. It was PERFECT! My daughter pretty much only eats salmon and tuna nigiri, and the rest of the family can order a variety of meats/veggies/appetizers....WIN WIN! The quality of the sushi and meats were delicious! I was pleasantly surprised. Most ayce sushi places we've been to recently have had very poor quality tuna but the tuna here was delicious! No skunky taste! Everything we ordered was brought out quickly and accurately. We're not huge fans of marinated meats but the Harami Miso was delightful. We enjoyed another great dining experience at 888 Encore! This is a very busy eatery. I highly suggest using the Yelp advance waitlist. They have a mix of table and booth seating options. The booths are interesting in that the divider between them can be raised offering seating for large parties. Our server was wonderful and incredibly attentive and friendly. He was always proactively asking if we wanted to order more rather than us having to flag him down. I tried the amazing "moshirita" white peach which was a delicious cocktail. We opted for the "C" menu since it has the widest selections. The highlights are the prime Kalbi and the Kobe options which were all unbelievably flavorful and tender!! "It's been 84 years..." - Rose in Titanic When I saw that this place was opening up, we drove by it several, and I mean plenty several .. (100x) times waiting for it to open. It was delayed, then delayed, then we gave up. Then one day, we saw it was opened, we screamed for joy. 888 Japanese is our favorite but driving to Decatur was always a pain. Now its less than 10 mins away from me, WHAT?!?! You better believe we went here at least 10 times in the first couple of months it opened in this location. The service is always fast and great, the food.. the FOOD. Both their sushi and bbq selections are delectable. I love the portion sizes because who really wants 3 lbs of something in the first round? One of my favorite Korean bbq spots near my house had changed owners and menu, so I was excited to see that one of the 888 bbq spots was going to be minutes from my house. I have been to all their other locations, and at least really have liked their bbq spots. When going inside it made me think a lot of their 888 japanese location stylistically. Which makes sense since this is their encore to that. They have interesting separations between booths with a lot of negative open space. It looks cool but keep in mind if you have a squirmy toddler you normally sit on the outside to trap in the booth...this will now not work. My child kept trying to inch over and sprawl into the other patrons space....totally my issue to deal with, but something to keep in mind if you normally have a similar strategy as I do. We normally get the most expensive menu option, but my fiance wasn't super hungry so we opted to try their A menu as it had the main stuff we wanted. I feel like you still get solid options for that menu tier. Their are meats, veg, soup, sides, and sushi you can choose from. We got lots of brisket, we each got our 1 allowed rib eye, the baked salmon roll was super yummy as well. I especially enjoyed their take on cucumber salad and their yuzu house salad, as well as the asparagus in a garlic sauce. I also used all their 3 dip options, while I often find myself only liking one at many places. When it comes to the grilling I love that they have the more open grate to get better fire contact on the food. Usually at the other locations they would keep a tray at the end of the table which has your orders, and you can put the plates you have used on it and they take it. They didn't seem to leave it behind like they normally do. Not that it was a big issue, just an observation. We got there around noon and didn't have any long wait getting seated. However it did seem to fill in a lot by the time we left around 130 p, and the servers seems to be pretty busy at that point trying to accommodate everyone. I do think currently this is the best spot on this side of town that I have tried for this type of food, and I'll be back to do their other tier options. read more

I've had this book marked on Yelp for a while, my daughter and I made our way here for lunch and opted for menu B. Located off of 215 and Eastern in the LVAC shopping center. We loved the vibe of the restaurant, we were seated in a booth and had an awesome server, he was knowledgeable and helpful in questions that I had about the menu. It was actually my first time going to Japanese barbecue, I loved all the options of sushi, sashimi and the premium meats included with the $35.95 menu, menu B is medium price point, so the premium meat options were Harami Miso and Mini Filet, those options were limited to one per person, but you get unlimited ribeye so definitely a good deal. We ordered quite a bit of sushi, as well as Harami miso and the mini filet, our favorite was definitely the Harami miso, and the chili garlic salmon roll. I brought my family here first time. 7 of us had 2 grills which were great. Usually we get only one grill if we go to Korean BBQ. We had to wait for eating because too many people for one grill. I had a great experience at 888 Japanese BBQ! First off, there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus in Vegas. They have three menu tiers to choose from, and I went with Menu B. I tried the prime fatty rib, yaki shabu beef, beef hanger steak, shrimp tempura, cucumber salad, edamame, and spicy garlic tuna. It sounds like a lot, but everything comes out in nicely sized portions so it didn't feel overwhelming. And honestly, everything was delicious. When I walked in, there was a wait, so I definitely recommend making a reservation if you're coming with a group. I was solo, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and that worked out perfectly. There's plenty of bar seating, which makes it super convenient if you don't want to wait. I also like how the menu is structured. Depending on which tier you choose, you can order freely from that menu, which gives you a lot of variety. Just keep in mind that some items marked with an asterisk are limited to one per person.
