Thank goodness for the yelp waitlist. Had to wait over an hour, like 1.5 hrs. Got there lil after an hour and waited like another 30mins. Good thing we weren't hungry right away and ran errands around town beforehand Got sat in the side room which was quieter and with less people. The air was blowing straight at it which was kinda night on this how day but made us cold the whole time and food cold faster. So not sure what I would rather have had being too hot or too cold but a happy medium would have been good or just say away from the straight blowing a/c box They were would of NY steak where I would have wanted to try since it was an option between that and ribeye. Got the ribeyes instead and it was pretty good. Got all the sides and veggies as well as black garlic ramen with chili sauce add. Ramen noodles had a good consistency with a harder chew on them. Meats were good and ample amounts of garlic, which we are all of them. Stomach felt good afterwards so I was glad about that. Sometimes these not so good meat BBQ joints mess up my stomach with too much fatty piece and not enough meat. But this place is solid and stays packed up until the end. Got to take away the lil ice creams home to save for later Service was great until the end, she seemed to have dropped the ball and stopped checking on us and forgot to put on some items. Had to ask several times for sesame oil with salt mixture and again at the end which was ordered with the 1st order a while ago. Actually wasn't happy about that since that's probably my #1 sauce to go with my meats. Another server helped us out but even then the service became slower than it was when there were more people sat in the side room with us Nevertheless, we left full and satisfied with our tummies. I almost like those BBQ places where I can order on my own iPad at the table when I need more items

Best bang for your buck! Quality meats/sushi with a good amount of variety. Place is clean with fast and friendly service! Could easily come back for more. I wished they had a location in CA.

Where do I start? We decided to get on the waitlist for this restaurant for my cousin's birthday. We got in queue for the waitlist earlier in the day for a 8pm sit down for a large party. We arrived at 7:30 and the entire party got there by 8. Unfortunately, we weren't seated until 9:30pm. We were told there would be a 30-40 min wait which ultimately turned into 1.5 hours later. When we all walked back to the table it didn't fit our party. So we asked for an extra table, which was open next to us but Hostess seemed stressed & made us feel like we were a hassle. Our server was nice but he only took our order and didn't come back, other people took over. They only came by to take our orders, we asked for water refill multiple times and it didn't come until the end of the meal. food was good but given the wait time and the inconsistency in the service, I would not be coming back.

Came here to say on 6/26, we weren't sure what to expect as we were a very big group. The waitlist was unnerving because we had out of town people who were coming and no reservation address could be provided until 2 hours before 8:00 PM. Miraculously, we were seated semi privately as we were 20 in our group. Service was top-notch. The place was a lot bigger than Spring Mountain, which was a good thing. All the Wagyu beef were melt in your mouth! The only thing that was missing was the imitation snow crab from Spring Mountain. But other than that, it was definitely worth it. Everyone including the birthday celebrant was happy! Did not get to take photos as we were all hungry!

Finally made it to 888 Japanese BBQ Encore last Friday, and it was definitely worth the wait! We came with family and friends (including three little ones) and checked in online around 5:30 PM. We were originally quoted a 1.5-hour wait but ended up being seated in about 45 minutes. The service was great, and the food came out quickly throughout the meal. We chose Menu B, and it had everything we wanted. The quality of the meats was top-tier--our favorites were the kalbi short ribs, garlic pork belly, and hirami miso. The sushi was just as impressive and didn't feel like an afterthought. I loved that they offered nigiri, specialty rolls, carpaccio, and poke. Everything tasted fresh, and my personal favorites were the Red Dragon Roll and the spicy mayo salmon nigiri. We were way too full to try the ramen or cold noodles, so we'll definitely be back for those. I also loved the fun atmosphere, especially when the staff came out dancing to 50 Cent for birthday celebrations--it made the whole restaurant feel so lively. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a free ice cream! My boyfriend ordered the yuzu cheesecake, and it was incredibly light, creamy, and full of bright citrus flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. Great food, great service, fun atmosphere, and even our kids had a blast. We'll definitely be back!

I have been super craving some Japanese BBQ. We tried to eat here once before but the wait was over 3 hours. You can join the Yelp waitlist but you have to be vigilant. I wanted to get there around 5pm, I looked at the waitlist and there was no wait so you cannot join but we'd be reminded (which didn't work as we came closer to 5.) We left the house and I tried to join the waitlist a few times in the car but again, no wait so you cannot join. About 5 min from the restaurant, I try again (while constantly checking my Yelp app) and I'm in 6th place. This felt more competitive than trying to secure Michelin star restaurant reservations in Paris. IYKYK. We only had to wait about 15 min longer than the estimated time but we were sat and finally got to try this place that everyone raves about. The place is a bit dark and moody but I kind of liked it. I liked the table separations but I also wish I wasn't so preoccupied with the first date happening next to us. It was like dinner and a show though so I can't be too mad. LOL! I was impressed with the cocktails to be quite honest. I tried the bruleed guava and blackberry highballs. Very tasty and quite fun to get. My husband ordered a yuzu margarita and it was quite lovely. The food was really good. We got the C menu because I needed some quality meat in my life. Everything we ordered was delicious. I will say though that it did not quell my craving for Japanese BBQ. This is definitely a KBBQ place with strategically placed words to seem Japanese. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's not what I was looking for in particular. However, I will be back. If I don't feed my husband that garlic tongue again, he might leave me. HAHAHA!!

I recommend this place if you are hungry for some bbq and sushi altogether. You have options too if you're in a budget you can choose option A which is only $25 plus tax and if you want a little bit more meat option B is $35 and C is their premium which $45. I also love their sauces. Cambria who was our waitress was so good I love her she was very accommodating and always smiling. The only thing that I didn't like is the drink. I ordered the strawberry mojito it was super sour and I asked if they can replace it for me thankfully they did I chose the lychee drink to replace it with I mean it taste a bit better but once I mixed it it literally tasted like water. The place tho was super busy so make sure you have reservations if you want to try this place.

    Mia S.

Cambria remembered us and consistently checked in to make sure we were taken care of. THAT is the definition of hospitality. If she hasn't been recognized, management MUST see her talent. To the owner: Cambria should be your #2. I am confident she will take your business to a level beyond where it is now. THANK YOU CAMBRIA for always making us feel welcomed & at home. See you again soon! HE insists :)

Where do I start? Drove from ABQ to Vegas and we were hungry! Decided to combine two of our favorite meals into one meal so yelped ayce kbbq and sushi and found this place. They have two locations and this was had a shorter wait time so I wait listed on yelp (love this feature) and we only waited about 10 minutes before we were seated. Alessandra was our waitress and she was sweet and non judgmental when we ordered tons of food. The food came out quickly and what impressed me was that everything for the most part was really good! We knew we could eat that much so we just did option A which still got us rib eyes and good meat and sushi! I got the rolls I liked and hubs got his kbbq fix. They also have ramen which the noodles were chewy bouncy but the broth lacked depth. That was probably the only dish that was not spot on. Loved the dragon roll the best. The small intestine had the goop inside so that was yucky. Missed having all the bon chon from korean bbq spots but hubs said for getting both bbq and sushi this is now our go to spot when in Vegas! The place is hip and loud so don't come if you want to have a quiet intimate conversation but if you wanna eat to your hearts content, then this is the place to go!

Lots of fun and good food to be had.

Friday night and hurried over after work to try and beat the crowd. Waitlist said well over an hour but I guess a lot of people had hit the waitlist and were not even present. We got a table within 5 minutes. We went "C" which basically included all options. Their tonkatsu ramen has such great flavor and the Kobe beef was perfect. Only downside was the size of the rolls but totally understandable as busy as the place was and you could ordered all you want. Great options, great fresh food and very good service can't ask for much more.

you can char your tamago to whatever level you like.. this may have been a tad beyond perfection but was delicious still

Came here for an early Sunday dinner! Warning, the waitlist can get long fast, so do yourself a favor and set a reminder on here to get on the waitlist. It's a dark room, but just enough light to read the menus. One thing though, the room gets smoky. I think the fans are in the tables, but they couldn't remove enough of the smoke at times! We got in at the right time and didn't wait long at all. Booths were plenty big for four, but would be a bit tight for more.. further you only get 1 burner in the normal booths, so 6 eating off the one burner may be a bit tight. That said, get your 3 best buds and go have an amazing meal here. Service is so quick and friendly. We did opt for the biggest menu, but definitely could have done well with the middle option for $10 less. That said, the meats that were only on the big menu were wagyu and the most delicious bites. But if you just wanted all you can kalbi... save the money and go with the middle! We will definitely be back with a smaller group and with the big eaters!! I didn't even mention the non-bbq items that were also delicious and quick to arrive on the table (so you have something to eat while things are cooking!). Oh and the nyangmeon was perfect with all the grilled meat!

Better quality than the original Chinatown location. Quality meat and sushi items. Lines are less here than Chinatown (tourists mixed) location. Starbuck is located doors down. It's a great place to chill and wait at (1st Starbucks in Vegas with new comfortable home style furniture rolled out here). RSVP via yelp or in person. For a Friday night, we were trying to get 630pm time so we waited until around 520pm to RSVP via Yelp. Apparently around 515pm-536pm: The wait jumped from 10minish to over 1 hr, and closed wait-list!!! I was checking since 4pm. A text was sent to confirm Y on on your wait-list. - We were physically around 30min beforehand. We went to lvac gym ahead of time, checked on the list in-person and then waited at Starbucks - If the waitlist is full, you can try to check-in in person. - waiting options: There's a Starbucks in the same plaza, and LVAC nearby. I ended up getting a text in 15min, and a call a minute after to physical check-in with the host. They were able to seat me and my SO 1st, knowing that the rest of our party of 4 was going to make it on 10min. Staff were super duper nice. Great customer service! For a bdays, they'll offer a cheesecake (yzu, hazelnut, matcha), candle and servers singing happy bday! Top items we liked from Menu B: - Harami Miso (limited per person special) - Kabi short rib - Pork toro jaw, crunchy - small intestine - Seared salmon sushi - Brussel sprouts with cheese sprinkles, many ppl on our table was surprised by it. - S'mores was fun. Most places with their brand of ice cream don't have the mango flavor. But they had it here!! It's my niece's favorite flavor. Ice cream requires yelp check-in, show staff that you've done or doing it. No or surprisingly not good - cold noodles - S.O. Seared Tuna Carpaccio. Even though it's a limited one per person item, not for me. Mini filet mignon was not as tender as expected. But not horrible.

Disappointing Experience as Returning Local Customers…read more We are Las Vegas locals and had visited Rollin Smoke Barbecue before. Our previous experiences were great, so when we were craving barbecue, we decided to return expecting another enjoyable meal. We ordered several combo meals to take home so we could try a variety of meats, sandwiches, and sides. One thing that caught us off guard was the $8 upcharge per sandwich to make it a combo ($16 total for the two sandwiches we ordered). We understand that upgrades cost extra, but those charges should be explained clearly when customers are ordering. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The portions seemed smaller than we remembered. The barbecue sauce was much sweeter than we expected and overpowered the flavor of the meat instead of complementing it. Some of the meats and sandwiches were also bland, lacking the rich, smoky barbecue flavor we remembered. There also wasn't much barbecue meat on the sandwiches, making them feel skimpy for the price. This isn't about being cheap--it's about value. We don't mind paying for good barbecue, but for the price we expected more. The combo didn't feel worth the extra cost. The side portions were very small. We were also concerned about the restroom. It was located near the kitchen, appeared rundown, and did not seem properly maintained or sanitized. A toilet brush was leaning against the wall, which added to the unclean appearance. Its condition made us question the restaurant's overall cleanliness and whether proper handwashing and food-handling practices were being followed. The most concerning issue happened after we ate the food at home. Both of us became very sick after eating from the same order. The photos included with this review were originally taken because we planned to share a positive post supporting a local restaurant we had enjoyed. We even noticed the sign encouraging customers to take photos, tag the restaurant, and share their experience. Unfortunately, after what happened, we decided to include the photos only to document our visit, what we ordered, and the condition of the restaurant. Between the unexpected combo upcharges, small portions, skimpy sandwiches, overly sweet barbecue sauce, bland food, cleanliness concerns, and both of us becoming sick afterward, this was a very disappointing experience. We hope management takes these concerns seriously and reviews its food preparation, storage, sanitation, restroom maintenance, and overall quality control. Sadly, after this experience, we no longer feel comfortable returning.

The pork ribs are wonderfully juicy and packed with deep flavor, pairing nicely with the complimentary sweet BBQ sauce even though they do not strictly need it. Unlike most places where the pulled pork dries out, this one stays remarkably moist and savory throughout. Chili (4/5): A very unique side that is much thinner and more watery than a traditional chili, holding a texture closer to a thin spaghetti sauce. Despite the looser consistency, it is absolutely packed with a variety of delicious smoked meats in every single bite. Mac and Cheese (5/5): An exceptional side dish and a clear favorite of the meal. It's incredibly rich, creamy, and distinctively flavored with sharp cheddar, which gives it a much bolder and more satisfying punch than standard restaurant mac and cheese. Corn Bread (5/5): This side functions almost like a dessert, boasting an incredibly sweet, vanilla cake like taste. The high level of sweetness provides a nice contrast to the intense salt, smoke, and savory flavors of the massive meat plate. Logistics Tip: Parking is limited but manageable between the two adjacent lots, and there is a clean restroom on site. To help beat the intense heat, they generously provide complimentary bottles of ice cold water. Keep in mind that they hosted live music on the late Saturday morning that we went. While it adds a fun, energetic backyard vibe, it can get incredibly loud and makes chatting with friends difficult, so you may want to bring ear protection or plan your arrival time accordingly.

Their passion for what they do shines through in every detail. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and feels like you're visiting friends rather than just another establishment. The staff reflects the same level of care and professionalism that Tom and Marni bring every day. It's rare to find owners who are so consistently involved and committed to creating a great experience. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, you're treated like family. The quality, service, and attention to detail are second to none. In a world where personal service is becoming harder to find, Tom and Marni have created something truly special. If you're looking for a place that combines outstanding service, a welcoming atmosphere, and owners who genuinely care about their customers, look no further. This is exactly the kind of local business that deserves to be supported. Five stars isn't enough.

The brisket burnt ends taste, and feel, like they're re-heating and serving leftovers from yesterday or the day before. Portions are kid plate sizes - definitely does NOT match the prices they are charging us. Not sure how these places stay open, but guess they depend on people getting what they're served and keeping their mouths shut; probably from all the dried meats. Ribs taste old - again, taste like it was leftover and re-heated from Saturday. Okras were good. Mac is good. Turkey was moist and tender. As for the rest, it was as dry as their toast. I've been to Vegas countless times and had never even heard of this place. What started as a quick restroom stop at Terrible's turned into an incredible midday meal at Mama Bird. The restaurant was spotless and had such a robust menu that deciding what to order was actually the hardest part. I went with the blackened catfish and watermelon slices, while my girl chose the pulled pork sandwich. We also shared the smoked wings as an appetizer. Our server, Troy, made some excellent recommendations, and everything exceeded our expectations. The portions were generous, and every bite was packed with flavor. We'll definitely be back. Thank you, Mama Bird, and thank you, Troy. We truly enjoyed the food, the service, and the overall experience. Until next time... from Cali with love.
