    Fried chicken eggs Benedict
    Amanda B.

This breakfast/brunch/lunch place opened in November last year across the walkway/in the same plaza as the movie theatre. You can park in the large parking lot and then walk into the area where the restaurants are (you can't drive up to the entrance). We went here a few ago for the first time with a small group family and friends with two toddlers. It was sunny and the small patio was open and popular, but it was too hot for us and we needed extra space for strollers, so we ate inside. It's quite spacious and many families with little kids were inside as well. It was busy but we didn't have to wait because there were plenty of tables. It's very bright inside, which is refreshing atmosphere than the bars that offer breakfast. We sat in the little section to the left when you first walk in, so our kids could also had a great view of a couple of people making food in the kitchen. The washrooms are at the very back and it's a bit tight between tables, especially when busy. The menu is very large and was a little overwhelming. Luckily, eggs benny are always my go-to when eating in (and it had been a long while since I ate out for brunch!). At our server's recommendation, I got the fried chicken eggs Benedict with crispy chicken breast, Swiss cheese, and scallions, with home fries. I had the option of regular or spicy Hollandaise and chose the spicy one. I'm not usually a fan of chicken breast, but this was good, crispy but not overcooked. I originally thought the chicken looked a bit small, but the portion ended up being the perfect size. The green onions could've been sliced thinner and less of the white parts so it wasn't as oniony, but that's just being picky. There were nice big slices of Swiss cheese and the Hollandaise had a little kick but wasn't too spicy. The home fries were very crispy as well. There were also a few pieces of fruit on the side that were a bit warm because the plate was warm, but it wasn't a big deal. We got the rainbow chocolate chip pancakes for the little guy, but he probably could've done without them. The portion was HUGE! They were green, orange, and red with tons of chocolate chips and icing sugar on top, which was honestly just too much sugar for our little one and maybe not the best idea before naptime. They also came super hot and took longer to cool than my home fries, which he ended up wanting more of instead (but maybe we'd ask for no or little salt next time if sharing with the kiddo since there was quite a bit on there, though perfect for me). We took the pancakes home, but they got gummy, especially after refrigerating, and did not reheat well. We'll know better for next time! Our server was great, patient with us, friendly, and attentive. Very family-friendly place where you could take small children who are loud, won't sit still, and whose mood can turn on a dime :)

Lovely open spacious new breakfast spot in Kanata! They have a huge variety of dishes that I felt like ordering everything! I got a poached egg but changed the ham into avocado (had to pay extra) it's as tasty and fresh. I also tried their coffee (it's nespresso) which was pretty good as well. Service was kind and fast and we had a lovely time!

I went here twice and both times I got a really sweet waitress. she remembered what I ordered the day before, she was very happy and nice and made a smile on my face. The food was amazing. The portions are really big for a good price. The place is so clean and taken care of. TOTALLY RECOMMEND

Fruit Waffles and fruit filled crepes. Absolutely delicious! Very large portions.

I made this account specifically so I could review this place. I've been going here since I was in…read moreelementary school (I'm 17 now). It's always been a special morning when we got Broadway for breakfast. They're a similar restaurant to Zak's Diner; with great food and their signature Homefries (that could sometimes use a bit more seasoning). You can get their Homefries anytime, even after breakfast, but their quality isn't as good as fresh in the morning. On top of just the food, the have amazing service. The staff is always happy for a quick chat or there for a good recommendation. In terms of speed, it depends on when you come, but provided you know what you want, it can be as little as 5 minutes (the time it'd take to drive to the store). Now to the Ambiance. The place is inspired by NYC's Broadway (specifically their Musicals) so the restaurant's walls are decorated accordingly. Overall, this is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Ottawa, and probably my favourite one for eating breakfast. My only qualm is asking that the Homefries receive more seasoning, but that is something so minor that it shouldn't result in the loss of a star from my review, and similarly it only really happens when I order takeout. Edit: I forgot to mention that from what I've seen, the owners are great people. Some of their staff have worked for over 10 years (some over 20), and they still have good things to say of their bosses (the staff, I mean), which is not something you tend to see. Also, this place is locally owned and operated.

I went pretty early both times and I was the first or second table there. I ordered the Trio Sante (a combination of yogurt, fresh fruit, and house-made granola) on my first visit and the ARC French Toast on my second. Both were excellent - I even dreamt about the french toast for awhile after =P There was just something about the contrast between the soft, rich, custard-like interior and the crunchy, oat-encrusted exterior in combination with a delicate spice, warm maple syrup, and tangy citrus butter... yum. To drink, I tried the drip coffee and a latte - both were average. The decor is modern and clean lines, with some elements from nature. It's bright and sunlight streams in from the windows. Basically, a great setting for a relaxing breakfast. Keeping in mind that both times I was one of only a few people there, service was appropriately attentive - i.e., there when it was necessary and not over bearing. Prices were on the high side, but probably on par with what would be expected in a hotel restaurant. I would come here again if I were staying at the hotel but, truth be told, there are other breakfast/brunch places in Ottawa that are higher on my list of places to go.

I just wish that he spent a little more time working in seasoning foods. None of our food was bad but none of it was standout great. I take that back; the ratatouille Wellington did actually taste good if you don't mind readiness in your ratatouille, which I guess I don't mind but don't prefer. Our server was very into food and did a great job describing the dishes. I was a little put off that he sort of sat/leaned his butt on the table next to us while he did so. It was almost too chilly in the restaurant but bearable. 3 stars: If someone else really wanted to go back, i guess I would, though reluctantly.

I really wish I'd gotten a photo of the little waiting area. They have all these colourful couches and lamps. It's like a little parlour. The spot is just so cozy. I even had to take a picture of the walls where the downstairs washrooms are located. They had gorgeous sunflowers painted all over them. The service is every bit as good as the food. The mimosas are worth it, lots of bubbles (some places really skimp, not Chesterfield's). They have many gluten-free options, which always makes me feel like I can eat like everyone else. I ordered the Bird's Nest Benny. The eggs were the most perfectly poached I've ever had at a restaurant. A side came with the benny, and I got the baked beans. The food was absolutely delicious. Potatoes, eggs, bacon, and maple-lime hollandaise that was to die for. There was so much food. Impossible to walk away hungry. Service was perfect as well.
