I've had this company for about 2 years. Before they were bought out, the prices were very reasonable! Now they've raised their prices extremely higher then before, and I'm just learning that in order to have a bee hive attended to, they are charging me approximately $250 to remove the bees. The ONLY positive side is their employees are VERY nice and responsive! So I don't blame this price gouging! If things don't get better we will be looking elsewhere. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY We use these guys for our rental property bug maintenance. The guy came yesterday and obviously didn't know we were back. I watched him from the window walk up the front path, give a couple of squirts out of his spray bottle, and get back in his truck and drive off. He was on our property for about 8 seconds. He didn't knock on the door, walk around the back, nothing else. They are charging us monthly for the service and they have probably been doing this for months. I will check our cameras. We tried to cancel them this morning and the office girl just hung up. We will look for another company. read more

We used Bug Guys for over ten years and I would have given five stars during that time. However they, and almost every pest control company in the area, were bought by some big company in Seattle. They didn't notify us of the change until they sent an invoice for services not yet rendered. The emailed invoice looked just like every other spam/spoof message, but I looked into it. The Bug Guys are no longer a locally owned and operated business. Oh sure, they're managed locally and of course the technicians are local, but instead of keeping the money local, it's sent to another state. To make matters worse, they upped the charges significantly AND decreased service from monthly to quarterly. They claim they're using some new pesticide that lasts three months, requiring fewer applications. In my mind, if I'm only making a fourth of the service calls, I would lower my fees, not raise them. So they get three stars for my previous experiences with them, but lose two for hiking fees, cutting service calls, and for selling out to some out of state company. read more

This appears to be a generic middleman/lead generation pest control service. Just tried to call and cancel my account and was told I'd be charged a $100 penalty for cancelling. The person I originally signed up with was based out of Seattle, Washington so it's definitely not a service based out of La Quinta, California. They're saying I owe them money from past services, but I haven't received a bill. I had them come out a handful of times to tackle our fire ant problem. In spite of three separate visits, my four year old son kept getting ant bites while playing in the back yard. I ultimately bought some ant killer from The Home Depot and it immediately fixed the problem. My advice would be to avoid this company at all costs. read more

The people who sold Gopher Patrol to this outfit owes their loyal clients a hugh apology. Don't expect to hear from them if you have a problem, only if they need something from you. I have had two major issues with them. No matter how many times you set up autopay it often doesn't kick in and they will call you in hysterics fearing one payment might be late. During today's hysterics on that topic where it turned out they had perfectly valid and up to date information for my account I asked about a complaint I reported a few months ago. This brings me to my second big issue with them. When they installed termite bait stations last winter they broke two underground sprinkler pipes. This was not noted for a while because the sprinklers were off due to the rain. When they were turned on again the yard flooded in two separate areas. My gardener fixed the pipes and said they were due to improperly installed termite bait stations. I paid my gardener out of pocket and reported this to Purcor who did absolutely nothing. When the lady (who I must admit was quite nice and helpful) called about the billing issues I asked about the pipe issue. She said there was no record of it (I was not in the slightest surprised). I recounted the incident and a little while later an insufferably arrogant oily sounding man called me with two implausible excuses. 1) they never installed the bait stations, this story fell apart pretty quickly as I brought up the point that they were routinely charging me to have them filled, then he tried on excuse 2) where he tried to convince me he was too stupid to understand that the damage was done when the stations were installed and not the last time they were filled, a scenario that makes no sense and he knew it. He was not, I am convinced, stupid but just willing to play the village idiot to avoid paying the $250.00 bill. I gave up and will foot the bill, but beware, these people are petty and entirely motivated by money and hire incompetent (probably cheaper) employees who do not do proper installations. read more

I initiated services with them on 5/29/24 as a neighbor recommended them. Purecor stated that it was $199 for initial assessment and visit and then $48/month quarterly. Only would do one scheduled visit in the 3 months but we would have unlimited services if need be. But still would have to pay $48 monthly regardless of need. I misunderstood and thought it was $48 quarterly. So, I paid $199 on 5/29 and then was charged $48 for their monthly fee on 6/1. Never was told monthly meant that the charge would be on the first of the month. So within a 3 day spread I was charged $250. Bottom line, they are expensive, not clear in explaining services and terrible customer service when I called to discuss. I ultimately gave up and paid $250 for one visit. Wanted to be done with them and nothing more to do with them. AWFUL. Looking for easy money. I thought initial visit would include a thorough examination of our home. For $199 I thought for sure they would look in attic etc. they did not. They sprayed interior and exterior and were finished. 3 days later I got a charge for $48 for our monthly service. I would NEVER recommend them to ANYONE!!!! read more

My experience with Purcor is very similar to those already written. Bug Guys were great. I always knew when they were coming and knew when they left. Great Service. With Purcor I didn't know if I was receiving service or not so I notified their customer DISSERVICE department to close the account. I was told that I owed for 6 months! I was told that if I didn't pay they would send my account to collections! I asked for proof of service and was told someone would get back to me. That DIDN'T HAPPEN but I did hear from a collection company. I tried reaching them many times. I am ashamed to admit that I went ahead and sent them a check just to be done with this outfit. Did this work? NO! After three weeks of not having my checked deposited I again contacted them to please find out why my account hadn't been cleared. FINALLY I spoke to someone who had the good sense to check with Accounts Payable and guess what? My check was cleared. Since this outfit lost all credibility with me I demand - and received! - an email stating that my account was paid and closed. Save yourself the aggravation and money. Get a reliable and honest company. Purcor doesn't even deserve one star! To save money, I suggest that Purcor get rid of their customer service department since almost no one there has what Customer Service skills. read more

This company was fantastic when we first started using them in 2019. Then they became PURCOR and the office staff is Horrible!! They are constantly claiming they never got my checks then they bill me for 2 months even though I only owe for 1 month. I have Always given my check to my service guy when he comes. I have always paid on time every month!! It felt good to cancel my service today. I'm pretty sure I just paid for a month I didn't owe for though but I will have peace of mind not having to deal with them anymore!! Don't use them!! We had a rat move in for a while - we tried everything. I mean everything. It's embarrassing how much and what we tried. $50 in sticky traps that everyone swore would work. The big plastic jaw ones? I nearly lost a finger but it didn't bother Gus Gus. TikTok said do the bucket and oil. Nope. Essentially we were just feeding him. Even tried poison - barely slept thinking dogs might get it. Finally called Purcor - they're my outdoor bug guys. 6 hours after Jason left ... population decreased by one annoying rat. Unfortunately, like many recent reviews...this company has been bought out by a larger company. They are not local!! There is a middleman who runs this new company out of the area and all previous service providers like manny are long gone. We don't get notices of arrival and even missed a month of providing service. If you call, it will go to a national call center, not the actual business. I called to cancel service and no surprise....went to the "national call line " and now waiting for a "local call to cancel," seriously? Don't waste your time and effort with this company. read more

We started using them when we first moved here in June 2020 and were very happy. All of a sudden some new company took over a few months ago and they raised our bill without notice! I paid it considering it was only $5 more but now this month they sent me TWO invoices! Also, a couple months ago my old service provider wasn't the one calling on me anymore, it's someone new. I'm sure he's fine, but another reason I had stayed is at least the old guy Manny knew our house and was very nice. I just called to find out why I have two invoices and I stayed on hold for a while only to find out that the gal who answered is just a service - she can't help me with anything, she can only tell them to call me. I called a local number so apparently there is NO WAY to get ahold of the office directly. We'll see if they call me back but when they do I'll be cancelling my service. read more

I have used Bug Guys in the past and was pleased with their service at that time. I reached out again because I can hear scratching in the attic. The technician showed up with a card from different company. Apparently a big company from east coast has come to town and is buying "the little guys". He donned full gas mask and treated the handful of droppings as if my attic was an episode of Hoarders. He was full of dramatic stories of infestations and diseases. He wanted to remove all existing insulation, "sanitize" the attic, and reinstall anti rodent insulation. His proposed charges: $128 for initial service, $600 to trap/ remove rat(s), and $3325 to sanitize. Total $4,053. His proposed charges were declined. I now have a different pest company, Newman Pest Control. We had a good laugh. read more

He shouted "pest control" and again motion me to the door. He was trying to sell me a service. He had no business and I was not looking for any new pest control. He must've researched and found that my house is sold and was looking for the new owners. He was unprofessional and he was degrading towards me and the way he acted to get a sale. I hired them to put screens on my vents and they performed sloppy work, had attitude and broke 15 tiles on my roof and would not pay for the damages. We have had this company for over 4 years and have always loved them. Our technician Manny was amazing and so thorough. He would always respond within a few hours if not right away. Now this company has been bought out by some corporation that treats everyone like a number. You can NEVER get through to speak to anyone, and all the old technicians are apparently gone. Our new one is nice enough but far from doing a good job. Since they have taken over we have had an influx of bugs in the house and the crickets that were eradicated by Manny have also now come back (new tech has been spraying for about 4/5 months now) and I'm guessing not doing a very good job. We also had some bees last month making a nest in our roof and when I contacted our tech he responded asking where the bees were located on our property and then nothing. He finally messaged us back two days later to see if 5 DAYS later he could come out to LOOK and see what needed to be done. Needless to say we called another company and they came out that afternoon. Then on the next scheduled appointment for spray the tech asked me if we still needed help with the bees...THIS WAS 2 WEEKS LATER! We are extremely unhappy and are unfortunately going to be going with a different pest company from now on. read more

VERY UNHAPPY with this company. We have been customers for several years and had been pleased with their service and the technician that had been servicing our home. Yesterday (March 3,2022) we received a call from a new individual that he had taken over Eric's route and would be our new pest control technician. Today (March 4, 2022) the new technician arrived, provided service, and after about 3 minutes, left our home. Shortly thereafter I received an invoice via email for $95! Previously, our quarterly bill was $75 and we really enjoyed the services Eric provided. Shocked by receiving the $95 bill (a 27% increase from our last bill), I called Bug Guys to find out what was going on. The woman who answered the phone was extremely dismissive and NOT polite at all. All she would say is "we notified you via written letter and email of our new charges." THIS IS PATENTLY FALSE. I informed her that we had no advance warning whatsoever and I asked her to email me a copy of the letter they sent or better yet, to forward the email they claimed they previously sent. Obviously, she was unable to do this because it was a complete fabrication. I own several businesses and would never treat one of my customers like this. If you need to raise your prices, just be honest about it and give the consumer an opportunity to decide if they want to continue with your services. In the past we had referred many friends to Bug Guys as they provided great service at a fair value. Now, I will be encouraging everyone I know to watch out and look elsewhere. read more
