I love this place! And the classes have definitely improved, I use to think they were a little repetitive when I first tried out this place when they had first opened, but they make a good effort to switch up the routine and the music now and they've added different types of classes. The prices are comparable to other workout studios around and they usually have special deals. I Highly recommend pure barre to everyone! The PureBarre workout can be very meditative, like yoga. The focus is on small movements and holding poses. If you have the correct technique, which is a little tough without a dance background and a Breaking Down the Barre class, it's a good workout for strengthening. PureBarre in general is a little culty, but it's more evident at the Westside location than it is at the Morningside studio, which is why I like this one better. Great music, small classes, convenient times. Because the classes are small, it can be tough to find one that's not full -- you have to plan ahead. And it's not cheap, although this studio does allow you to buy class cards and not just monthly memberships. I'm taking full advantage of a $99 new client special for a month before I decide if I can rationalize $225 per month (doubtful). Give it a try -- this is a great complement to your cardio. And you can pretend you're a badass ballerina for an hour. read more

Pure Barre Virginia Highlands is A-mazing! I love that this is right down the road now. It has such a great neighborhood feel and their always having cute events and specials, which helps with the cost. Although, it's easy to "bite-the bullet" on the unlimited packages when you start seeing such a difference in your body after only a few classes! I decided to try Pure Barre because my mom and sister cannot stop raving about it. Pure Barre Virginia Highlands is the closest location to my home and I absolutely love it. All of the instructors are so knowledgable and take the time to correct my form and encourage me to make it through those last ten movements. I wasn't sure I would like Pure Barre because I am very into CrossFit, but it is a difficult workout in its own right. I have noticed a definite improvement in my flexibility since starting. I highly recommend Pure Barre Virginia Highlands because it is conveniently located and everyone who works there is great. If you go to an evening class during happy hour or a weekend class during brunch, be aware that the studio shares its parking lot with some popular bars and restaurants. This was my first pure barre class and I conveyed this to the instructor before the class began. That said, while she did take the time out to explain and demonstrate some of the terms she would be using throughout the class, I felt that she could've paid more attention to newcomers during the actual class itself. I looked around and saw some dismayed faces as postures were not being corrected or assisted and the pace was fast. I'm not saying I'll never try pure barre again, but it will probably be awhile before I do. read more

This studio has ruined Pure Barre for me. One would think that customer service and maintaining good relationships with everyday customers was a priority over nickel-and-diming every chance they can get. Word of advice to all future or current customers at this studio: Don't sign any contracts without saying upfront that you want to opt out of "auto draft", and don't expect the owner to have your back when it comes between her and her money. They make it clear that all you are is a signature on a contract and money is the motive. read more

Oh Pure Barre Pure Misery. I have done it all and nothing short of paying $600 a month for a personal trainer. Pure barre is BY FAR the best workout I have ever had the misery of dealing with. I enter every class with a knot in my stomach because A) I am not the teacher's pet and B) because I curse myself 10 seconds into the the 90 second plank. I want to quit every time I enter the room, honestly. Well why don't I? Because every time I leave, I can't wait to go back. Prices are nothing short of fair or even better from what I have seen from other studios. The location in the Highlands? The people that greet you when you walk in remember your name, make sure you know how many classes you have left, and have sticky socks for sale ( a must for barre classes.) Most of the instructors keep to a similar 'lesson plan' but I must admit I have my favorite girl and try and take her classes whenever possible! ( if you are like me, at first you are alarmed because she totes has BRF but ends up being a real gem with the best playlist) but that's the best part. If your schedule is flexible... You get to experience different teachers every class. Some you will like and some you will love but I have yet to take a class at this location with an instructor who made me feel uncomfortable or less than. The Owner is not especially friendly or smiley. This is not one of my favorite locations for Pure Barre. It has too serious of vibes. Other locations have more spunk to them & everyone seems to be enjoying themselves a bit more. xo It was a great work out doe. read more

This place is a game changer. I have always longed for a flat stomach and since I started taking Pure Barre my midline has completely changed. I'm even starting to see definition. Honestly I wasn't sure about it before I tried it because it was so female focused, but that ended up being the best part because every second of the class is designed to tone and sculpt my problem areas. Maybe this summer I'll even wear a crop top! A girl can dream. The studio is the perfect size for a personal experience and in a great location. I go to the farmers market after class on the weekends. I have definitely sipped the kool-aid when it comes to Pure Barre and I'm very happy with my results. read more

BEWARE OF THE ONE MONTH TRIAL. I tried Pure Barre in Boston and it was a fantastic workout. I signed up one month ago at Pure Barre Virginia Highlands and only went twice. The first class was terrible as the instructor (Andrew - the brother of the owner) was disinterested in having to instruct a new participant. Overall the vibe was poor because the music was just OK and Andrew had no energy or enthusiasm. The second class was good, but not great, with Katy. FlyBarre Buckhead is a far superior environment. I decided to try PureBarre Virginia Highlands as it is closer to my home and I like to support local businesses, but it was a mistake. I paid $99 for a one month trial and was charged $139 for the next month on exactly the 30th day from my first class. I emailed immediately to cancel and they refused based on the fine print on the contract requiring 10 days advance notice to avoid a second month charge. Given the small number of participants in each class I wondered how they were surviving in a high rent location. Now I know. DO NOT DO THE $99 INTRO TRIAL. Just pay for a class or two so you do not get stuck overpaying to try this location. Better yet, drive to Buckhead for a better barre experience (instructors, music, overall vibe) and better customer service. There are many barre alternatives in Atlanta. While it can be a great workout, this is not a great place. read more
