I was petrified whine I signed up for my first class. I am not built like a ballerina and was not sure how comfortable I would be surrounded by tall skinny girls. From the moment I walked in I felt so welcomed. The young lady at the front desk helped me sign in and told me to get comfy before the start of class. The instructor was so helpful, kind and took the time to make sure that you were in proper form. This workout is hardcore! I was sore for two days afterward, but it was awesome! The studio is immaculate and they ask you wipe your equipment after every class which I really appreciate. I can't wait to come back for another session! read more

I went to PureBarre as stop one on my multi stop tour of gyms starting out with ClassPass. I'm not sure why but I was surprised to walk in and see that there is only one studio. The entrance is nice but I'm not a huge fan of the carpet flooring in the classroom. The teachers at PureBarre are excellent. I've gone to PureBarre three times and so far each class I've had a different teacher and did different exercises at each. All of the teachers have good energy, are motivating and keep the classes seamlessly going from one exercise to the next throughout the class. Years ago, before I got married, had a baby and gained 10 plus pounds, I was a member of Exhale gym. For those who are wondering, the exercises at Exhale and Pure Barre essentially are the same and target the same areas of the body. All of the classes essentially are equivalent to the general CoreFusion classes at Exhale (ie, not CoreFusion yoga or sport or whatever they call the rest of them). I've only noticed a few small differences. First, and one reason I'm really happy with PureBarre, is that it seems that Pure Barre may be tying a little more thigh work into exercises primarily targeting other areas. My thighs definitely are feeling it. Second, I feel like there aren't any students in the class who look like the "expert" students I used to see at Exhale, meaning that there hasn't been anyone who really stood out as a devout PureBarre follower who is in extraordinary shape. Third, and possibly because of the second reason, the teachers do not seem to tell anyone how to do the more difficult level of some of the exercises. For instance, as I recall at Exhale when we did ab work at the bar we could either lift and lower our legs to the floor or, if we were able, keep them up the entire time to continue exercising the core throughout the duration of the exercise. Again, the fact the teachers don't tell us to do that could be completely related to the fact that no one in the class appears able to do the more difficult level of work. That said, sometimes it's nice to try or know what you are striving for. Overall, I'm loving the PureBarre classes. I have a feeling I may be supplementing my ClassPass classes here so that I can go more than three times a month. read more

I took my first class yesterday (through ClassPass) and loved it! The workout was different but amazing; I feel the burn in all the right places after just one class. It was challenging but not intimidatingly daunting since it moves pretty fast. The instructor (Amanda) knew it was my first time so she went out of her way to check in with me throughout the barre exercises. She was patient and great about correcting posture! This work-out is unlike any other that I have tried. The owner, Jessica, is very friendly and makes it a point to get to know you. After my first class, she even stayed with me as well as other beginners to explain some of the moves we were having trouble with. Throughout class the instructors show you the moves and then walk around to provide guidance or correct your form. The instructors also let you know when you're doing a good job which is great especially when your muscles are burning and you just want to stop. The only downside is the cost which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. read more

I am extremely athletic and have always been naturally good at exercising. However, upon experiencing many sports injuries I am not able to lift/run like I used to be able to. Then I heard about Pure Barre. The small, isometric movements sounded perfect for someone like me who had experienced a lot of injuries. I needed a workout the was easy on the joints and Pure Barre was the perfect fit. Upon observing it doesn't look like Pure Barre is too difficult, however during my first class I felt a burn in places I didn't even know existed. After just a few classes I already feel leaner and more toned. I would recommend this Pure Barre location to anyone. Although there is a specific technique, the instructors at Pure Barre Miami are so helpful and really take the time to make you feel comfortable. You can't go wrong with any instructor here, they are all amazing. If you ever feel like you don't understand one of the moves the instructors willingly stay and help you after class until you feel confident. You truly can't go wrong with Pure Barre. read more

After getting bored with my regular exercise routine, I decided to try Pure Barre on a whim. Fast forward to 6 months later, and I'm hooked! Although I've always worked out regularly, and have tried any and all different exercise classes, I've never craved a workout like Pure Barre. It takes a few classes to get the hang of the technique, but the instructors are incredibly helpful and hands on. The music and moves are constantly changing, so you'll never get bored. Although it's low impact, these workouts are no joke! However, if you need to get your cardio fix, they recently added a "platform" class to the mix (think barre meets crazy step aerobics). I love Pure Barre CG so much! I initially signed up during the summer with a one month $99 pass, being new to barre. I went to my first class and hated it, because it was so hard. I figured I was out $99 and knew I hated barre. Well, about a week later, I figured I should give it another shot. It was a different instructor, and felt easier. That class encouraged me to try another one, a few days later, and by the third class I was hooked. Interestingly, I avoided that first instructor for the next few weeks, but ended up in her class about a month in. Guess what, it wasn't her, it was me! I could totally do everything she was asking us to do and I loved it. What an awesome feeling to improve so much, thanks to the instructors. I love them all. They really help you have good form, and the workout is second to none. All my old workouts and classes are a breeze after this - arms and abs, sculpting classes, etc - they feel EASY now that I've been doing barre regularly. With the combination of PB and dieting, I've lost 13 pounds and have muscle definition I've never had in my life. Parking is easy, everyone is friendly, and it's super easy to just swing by and jump into a class. The sign up is easy, whether it's online or sometimes I just call and see if they have an opening if I'm nearby. I love love love Pure Barre Coral Gables! read more

I love this studio! i went to a pure barre back in college and decided to sign up upon moving back to miami! the unlimited pass is definitely worth it if you use it frequently! i now have the class pack and getting to go to class is such a gift when i'm able to. Love Pure Barre-Miami! Every single instructor is fabulous and brings their own twist to the 55-minute session while still maintaining consistency. They do a great job of supporting each student and keeping you motivated throughout the workout. The studio itself is beautiful and centrally located in the Gables. You will use muscles you never even knew you had and notice results quickly. As someone who has been a runner, it was really challenging (in the best way) to focus on individual muscles with the isometric, small movements. I've seen my legs that were once a bulky kind of muscular really lean out while maintaining muscle tone and the rest of my body following suit. Try it! read more

I only completed a week at this location and then moved to the other closer to my house but I loved it! Rebeca was an amazing instructor and she made me feel so comfortable even though I had never done a barre class before. I arrived about 15 minutes before class started and she took the time to explain the lingo and movements. She was so helpful and overall a great instructor. These classes are mostly low-intensity but they make you sweat and you definitely feel the burn. Can't wait to see how the other location compares. I would definitely recommend Pure Barre. read more

I just did my first class yesterday. IT KICKED MY A**! I do Insanity, and I have done p90X. This is tough in a different way. I sweat like crazy! What I like best is that I tend to get bored with pilates like classes because of the tempo, but this is A.D.D. proof. You'll work one part of the body, but the moves will change up frequently. My instructor Jessica was great and ensured that everyone in the class had proper form. Facility is clean, staff is very nice (shout out to Alex at the front desk), and they even called me this morning to see what my experience was like. It's not cheap, for sure, but I nabbed a Groupon - 10 classes for $95, and since I am doing mostly Insanity, this is my weekly toning session. If you want to go more frequently or don't have a Groupon, it will be a little pricier, but this is the kind of stuff you can't do on your own. Might be worth the investment. read more

After being very excited to attend a class today I quickly realized that I should have turned around and walked out. I stood in front of the receptionist forever - like I was invisible. She was standing there talking to one of her co-worker and not me! Only after I finally interrupted her and asked how she would like for me to proceed I was acknowledged. After I paid my $23, I was told I had to buy socks. Why didn't they tell me first? I run a multimillion dollar business and I know how to treat people. One of the apparent owners muttered under her breath, in the rudest tone, "you have to have socks!" Ok, not a problem , just let me know the reasoning, since the other barre classes I have taken do not require them . This was the start to a total downright letdown. During the class which totaled 3 people including myself, the apparent business owner was messaging and laughing with the instructor while taking photos of us and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. read more

In love with Pure Barre! The studio is nice and clean. The workout is awesome for ladies who are looking to tone. This class is definitely hard and different for those who have not taken any barre classes. As a beginner, it was confusing to understand their terms such as tuck, freeze, hold, and circle. Pure Barre usually offers a free class once a month to newbies to understand these terms. The good part for beginners is that the instructor will guide you throught out the class. All of the instructors are really sweet and full of energy. Now as a regular, I have noticed my legs are really toned and I became more flexible. No workout is ever exactly the same, which makes it exciting. The classes usually focus on legs, glutes, and abs. The last part of the class is focused on abs, and its pretty intense but still fun. You do a lot of different excerises that you would not normally do. I highly recommend this workout to others. read more

I have been coming to Pure Barre in Coral Gables for over a year now and absolutely love it. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are always making sure you are in the correct position. It took me a couple classes in the beginning to get a hold of the workout and understand the flow of the class, but after that I was hooked. They are always doing fun events and contests at the studio to keep your workouts interesting so it is not the same thing every time you go there. I had never tried barre classes before. My cousin invited me to come with her one day to Pure Barre, that was 1 year ago. I loved it so much. I haven't stop going ever since. This studio is amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful. I have met amazing people and the teachers are fantastic. The teachers are always available after class to answer any questions and to help you perfect the technique. It gets more challenging every time as they are constantly changing up the routing. Their schedule is very flexible, and I love that they have classes as early as 6:15 am and as late as 8:00pm. Once a month they have a breaking down the barre class, which is free, and they go through all the steps in detail. My body has changed so much, people have noticed too, they will ask me, what are you doing? Your body looks different. I see definition in my arms that I never in my life have seen. I try to make at least 4 classes a week. This place makes me so happy, I am so glad I was introduced to this studio I love Pure Barre Miami. read more
