Pure Bliss is simply amazing. I've been coming here for quite a while, but recently had a great experience ordering a custom birthday cake for my boyfriend and wanted to share my years of positive experiences with this shop! The staff and the service they provide is always amazing. They are very knowledgeable about all of the desserts in the case and have been very helpful anytime I had a special order, typically for birthdays. The process for getting a custom cake was very simple and I found them very easy to work with and worth what we paid. Their Belgian Chocolate Torte is some of the best dessert I've ever had, along with their Peanut Butter Wedge and New York Cheesecake. Ever since their incredible remodel, we've never had an issue finding a place to sit - it's a great place to hang out. We love that they're open late because it's the perfect place to grab a sweet treat and hang out! If you haven't been to Pure Bliss yet, you've got to check it out. Whenever I have friends or family visiting me in Bellingham, I make a point to take them here and they've all loved it and noted it as a highlight of their visit. The two stars are for the great service from the brunette server. She was kind and professional and helpful. I found the cupcakes ( two flavors ) very dry and both tasted just like they were from a grocery store cake mix. The buttercream frosting was great, however. The vanilla was denser than a cake mix so clearly they are doing something different but so dry and that cake mix flavor is distinct. I would put money on it that they were just doctoring Duncan Hines or similar and decorating with flair. The cakes are priced very high 37-48 plus extras for colors in writing on top which all seems criminal for a cake mix quality cake. I canceled my $50 cake order after tasting the cupcakes . I also had a latte. I felt bad about canceling the cake and having to explain why that I told them I liked the latte - but truth be told- that sucked too. read more

We went here for a special after dinner birthday treat and loved it! Ended up with a piece of the Earl Grey cake and a piece of the Chocolate bliss for the birthday boy. We went to Pure Bliss for the first time: Excellent dessert, coffee and friendly service! We weren't sure hat to expect downtown, but found parking relatively easily. The selection of deserts is truly mouth-watering, the coffee is great, and the service top notch. When you first walk in, it smells like lovely chocolate and fresh baked cakes. The decor inside is beautiful with black leather booths and a pink couch with pink accents around the bakery that compliment everything else. Their huge selection of rotating dessert will never disappoint and their selection of sweets ensures that there's something for everyone. Located on 1424 Cornwall Ave, Pure Bliss shares the building without another cafe so be sure you're going inside the right store. Once inside, the air smells sweet like vanilla and chocolate (one of the best parts of going here!) I have a few favorites I highly recommend, like their salted caramel chocolate cake, the earl grey cake, and the chocolate peanut butter cake. Their cakes are sold by the slice, but you could always buy a whole one too if you really wanted. In a separate display they have cookies, brownies, coconut macaroons, and other bite sized (they're actuslly all pretty big) morsels. I was craving something sweet while traveling for work. I always love to check out local bakeries, and let's be honest, any excuse to eat cake really... Let them eat cake. And I did. And it was wonderful. Moist and not too sweet, which is actually more difficult to do than you might think. I wish I could have tried everything in the display case, but alas, my wallet would not permit. Though I did try and go back a different day for round two, and found that it was sadly closed. One morning my sister and I were walking around downtown and happened to notice a big pink retro refrigerator in the window. We used Pure Bliss for our wedding desserts this past August. We looked around Bellingham at a few other shops that had been recommended by our wedding planner but none even came close to the deliciousness, friendliness and professionalism we found at Pure Bliss. Andi was so sweet and helpful at our meeting and we got to try so many delicious things. We literally loved all of them. So good! We actually chose quite a few items, including cupcakes, dessert bars and a petite mini cake to cut! Everything was perfect. Throughout our planning process I had quite a few questions just about how many platters and trays we might need and were there any gluten-free or vegan options, etc. etc. I simply emailed Ann and she answered all of my questions and in a very timely manner. She was really kind and so great! My wedding planner's assistant came up with an awesome design for our dessert display and the desserts from Pure Bliss looked AMAZING on it and tasted so good!! Rudest customer service in the Northwest! We went in attempting to buy a large wedding cake with Over an hour and a half to spare. There were approximately 5 employees on site. After tasting several cupcakes we decided on a flavor and were told to start over in line again. After waiting 10 minutes, we finally made it to the front of the line for a second time (the last several minutes were spent waiting for the employees to bus the tables). Anyway, we were then told they don't accept wedding cake orders and we would have to contact their corporate office. We attempted to do so by dialing the given number and left a message. Several hours later they returned the call and told us we were once again speaking with the same store. Unfortunately they were unwilling to take an order displayed exactly as is in their books. They refused to use coloring and would only use white frosting. Very very rude staff and lots of wasted time. Don't bother with this bakery. Buyer beware! read more
