The food here was absolutely delicious. We stumbled across this treasure because it was so close to our hotel and enjoyed it immensely. Usually we enjoy visiting several different local places in every town we visit but we returned to this gem every morning. I had the veggie breakfast burrito and it was scrumptious. Popped in for a sweet treat. I wasn't expecting a little cafe and was pleasantly surprised. I got a peanut butter cookie and it has that traditional peanut butter cookie flavor with the sugar roll. Another outstanding experience from Slice of Heaven. We were, however, bummed out because they weren't selling individual cinnamon rolls, only in a four pack. We went with a Vanilla Raspberry Cupcake and the Mint Chocolate Lasagna. Both were incredibly delicious and satisfied our sweet tooth, although we did find the portions to be very small on both, especially the Mint Chocolate Lasagna. Drove to the shop today because these pictures looked amazing. From the outside we didn't really know what to expect but once we got inside it was bright and welcoming. So do you know this strawberry crunch ice cream pops you would get as a kid at the local ice cream truck? They have these flavors in a cake! I tried the Strawberry Crunch Cake and the lemon bar because well, I'm a sucker for a lemon bar, and both were delicious. I am not even a buttercream fan but this was well done. The people were super sweet, and oh my goodness they have orange creamsicle cookies I am going to have to try soon. And for our vegan friends they have options there too! They also advertised a baked lasagna, so savory is also available. If Buddy is the Cake Boss, Marci is the Cake CAPO. The cakes are stunning, and they're almost too good to eat. ALMOST. For my birthday, there was no other place I wanted to go to treat myself to a slice. She has a fantastic variety: chocolate, berry, fruit, vanilla...and even though I dislike most frosting, I can't get enough of her buttercream. The cakes are very tall, but hold together and look like they belong in a magazine spread. My birthday slice was a lemon raspberry - lemon cake with raspberry puree between each layer, and a light lemon buttercream frosting. My "Just because I want it" slice a few weeks ago was a blackberry cake with blackberry puree in Bavarian cream. Both were thick and very moist, and the flavor was consistent throughout. There are other pastries and savory food options for breakfast and lunch, which I'll try at some point, but for me, right now it's all about the cakes. Some day I will order a whole one for an event, but no promises that I won't eat it all myself. read more

Everyone here was so friendly and helpful even though we came in 20 minutes before they close on Christmas Eve. The feel is welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. I ordered a cake for my mom's birthday with rather short notice. Marci was extremely flexible and lovely, and so quick to respond to emails. I sent inspo pix but asked her to just be creative. I ordered the Blackberry Bavarian Cream cake and it did NOT disappoint. Not only was it gorgeously decorated, but it was the best cake any of us had ever had. Sweet, moist, the cream was rich and delicious, and the icing was smooth and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was visiting Bellingham for a conference this past weekend and went to Slice of Heaven for breakfast. I got the standard eggs/bacon/toast, and it was all perfect! Eggs perfectly over-easy, bacon perfectly crisped, toast perfectly toasted. The eclairs looked amazing, so I picked one up to share with some buddies and oh. my. goodness it was amazing. The pastry was flaky, the chocolate had some tooth to it, and the fillings (Chantilly & Bavarian Cream) were out of this world. Then I decided to go back after the conference for some more treats for the road. I picked up the "Snickers Bar" and it is really over the top. Brownie or something on the bottom, a layer of peanuts and caramel, I guess house-made nougat? It was and creamy and firm yet also fluffy, and then a layer of chocolate on top. My only regret is I ate it all myself; I really should have found someone to share it with! Everyone that helped us was really kind, and I found the prices very reasonable. (Though that may be a regional thing; I'm used to Portland prices.) I'm going back to B-ham for a week this summer and I will definitely be stopping back by here! read more

We tried a chocolate chip cookie, mint brownie, double chocolate brownie, and "sin" namon roll blonde. For drinks we ordered a hot chocolate and an iced oatmilk vanilla chai tea latte. All of the treats were delicious, the mint brownie was out of this world. Many GF options (seriously a whole shelf!) if you are looking for GF. The lady who waited on us was attentive and quick to assist us. As I prepare for my sugar nap, I am a happy camper! Slice of Heaven is just that. Strawberry crunch cake, are you kidding me?? Cake, mousse, cream cheese, mousse, and cake, covered in some really well made butter cream, and strawberry and dough crunchies. The cakes are cold so there's time to get it home, and adds a nice mouth feel, that is just looking for some of their pretty good coffee. I also tasted the lemon bars, and those tart scrumptious noms are way way on point! The crust does a nice job of mellowing the lemon of you don't want "puckerliciousness", but I am all in for some yummy puckerliciousness!. They have samplers so I tried the pecan bar and I may never love another. This Texas boy felt like he was at Thanksgiving dessert, that is "return soon" level good! Also sampled the macadamia white chocolate cookies, where were they when elementary school sold cookies at lunch!?! I'll take 12 thank you very much! Wow. Talk about a sweet treat. Slice of Heaven does not lie. I had lunch there and could not resist taking a couple of treats home. The sliders (turkey cheddar) were great and surprisingly filling. They also have soups, sandwiches and Lasagne among other delights. But the main attraction is the sweets. There is Ice Cream (sandwiches, cones and cups),baked goods(brownies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, and cakes) look at the photo of the display as I may have forgotten something. Terrible customer service and mediocre product. We bought a full cake which they charged us for 14 slices at $9.95, a normal price would have been under 100. There were at least 6 partial cakes in the case so buying really benefited the shop. The cake was decorated very simple but elegant. The outer shell of the cake is very clay like, hard and way too sweet. The inner part of the cake literally ran out of the middle upon cutting. Not after sitting but upon first cut. On a positive note we picked up a $24 ice cream cake at edaleen on the way home. read more

This is my first visit to Slice of Heaven and I thought it was great! When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly lady who was happy to answer all my questions. The other staff I saw were also friendly when I said hi. I got to try a sample of a Nanaimo bar and it was delicious! There were some other options to sample also. I loved the signs around with fun sayings! There's also some seating to hang out with friends. They also have gift cards, soup, ice cream, and ice cream sandwiches. They have games on each table for you to enjoy while your eating and enjoying your desserts. I had the BLT on sour dough bread and it was the perfect sandwich lightly toasted and delicious fresh veggies and crunchy smoked bacon. Went after seeing good reviews & it's definitely worth it. It seems to be a treasure not enough people know about. They make custom cakes and have breakfast lunch coffee game night and more. The family that owns it is very kind & there's gluten free options and they are open minded to accommodate if possible. It's next to boomers & is open. Could easily be a spot for a nice morning coffee or a quick lunch. It's clean and the staff constantly change their gloves & wash their hands and I've not even had to ask. It's refreshing to be honest to see people handle food with care. And to take food allergies seriously. It's so rare in the food industry to see eateries actually care. I chose the raspberry-lemon cake with layers of lemon cake with bright red raspberries between each layer. I perused the many tasty treats...everything from chocolate peanut butter cookies to pecan pie bars, cinnamon crunch bars and blueberry delights. I couldn't resist purchasing a few. I met the owners who are truly passionate about making everything from scratch using the finest possible ingredients. Slice of Heaven is the perfect name for this much needed addition to the Samish neighborhood because the cakes are to die for! We stopped by after dinner at around closing time and although their offerings were limited, we still found numerous delectable options to choose from: several chocolate cookies infused with different chilies, lemon bars, snickerdoodles...too many cookies to name and cakes- Lavender Lemon, Cookies & Cream to name a few. We grabbed a couple lemon bars and took them home although we could have stayed there because they have a cute little dine-in area, as well as a lovely dining patio. The bars were puckerlious- tangy lemon curd atop tender pastry, perfectly balanced and great with our coffee. I hope they do well in this growing area. I'm happy to see how they've kept the classic desserts while also having rotating products throughout the season that follow holidays and such! The workers there have been so helpful when explaining what certain, special desserts are and what is in them! The place feels so nice, a definite step up from captain Bellingham. It's classy. We came in here today accidentally! We were looking for another place and I'm so glad that place wasn't open yet. The variety was incredible and the man who took care of us was so kind and welcoming.
