I am on well water and prefilter it down to 5 microns (Huemann recommended 50 microns which would foul in about a day)and it still fouls the mechanism that runs the system. The internals are far too small to pass even 5 micron, dissolved solids. It makes one wonder what it was designed for. All wells have dissolved solids! The idea is great, the design sucks. Not at all practical This system is not good for well water and the manufacturer does not stand behind it nor do they answer technical questions. Lots of money for this boat anchor of a system. Do yourself a favor, go to Costco or somewhere and buy a much less expensive and more reliable "cheap" system. Just like an Audi is elegantly engineered, it won't cross the dessert but a cheap Jeep will. Total crap and disgusted.
