Our 2010 Honda CRV had some issue with transmission (ever since we brought from the previous owner 2 years ago we forgot to change transmission fluid), the warning light and D shift kept blinking, it worried us a lot. After took her to Pure Honda, Nicole has been very helpful and the mechanics also helped us. After first time they changed the transmission fluid, all the warning signals were gone with test drive to make sure. But it came back again, when we took it back, this time they adjusted the balance of fluid and test drive again, then no more problem. I go to this location because it's five minutes from my house and the staff is friendly. I have a 2009 Honda Civic with well over 100,000 miles so at this point I find that it's better to have it serviced by people who understand the life cycle of a durable car. I think they run about the same pace as other dealerships (which is of course always slower than we'd all prefer) and their hours are less convenient if I'm trying to get to work on time - service doesn't open until 8 am. I'm not the best at judging prices but I believe that they may run a smidge high. They do good work and don't typically recommend unnecessary maintenance that other dealerships have sometimes tried to push, which combined with the convenient location is the deciding factor for me. read more

I brought my car here after calling them and they said they could fix it. 9 days later, they called me to come pick up my car because it was "too much" to do to fix it and it wasnt worth fixing it. I started coming here years ago and it's changed hands a few times. I've had some good service or at least what I considered fair in the past. Had a broken mirror and called for an appointment for an estimate. I was informed it would be at least one hour for the estimate and to plan accordingly. I arrived for my estimate and left my car with a service advisor. It wasn't the person that's helped me in the past and he was there and said hello. I went inside and barely sat down when the young man came back. He informed me the entire mirror had to be replace and it would be $674 dollars. This would need to be prepaid to order in advance. Next he said that the install was quick - only 15 minutes and would cost $177. I think he sort of expected me to fork over my credit card and I politely told him I'd have to think about it. He would not give me a quote in writing just said "everyone would be able to see on the system". Went to an auto parts store tonight - yes I know it might not be a "Honda" original- however I could get the part unpainted for $175. Bottom line - I will not return here for a car, a part (even though it's conveniently located to me), or even an oil change. read more

I have decided to purchase a Honda Insight hybrid after several hours of search on internet. I went to TROY HONDA looking for a fair deal, they tried screwing me hard. The energy was wrong there too everyone was just a bad person it felt. Just being real.. so me and my pregnant girlfriend go to Dunning Honda expecting to shop them before going to Farmington. As SOON as we walked in I knew we found our dealership. First of all - Roger was our salesman and he was awesome. Was real honest and straight forward "tell me the deal you need to buy a car today, I'll see if I can get it done." The manager James was equally as awesome. Always smiling, was a HUGE help. They gave us better than a fair deal. Too good in fact. I made a appointment for 9:45 bought my car in at that time. Once again there was a noise coming from the front end more pronounced as you accelerated. I finally made a call around two trying to find out what the issue was since I didn't hear from Pure Honda. I was told the technician was just looking at the car, after another two hours I was told they we're still trying to find the problem. The next day I call about 10:30 and was told the the tech just took It out for a drive, fifteen minutes later the tell me it's a wheel bearing. My complaint is two fold I was told a appointment doesn't mean your car will be seen the day you make the scheduled appointment. Two it should not take two days to diagnose a wheel bearing. That's 2 strikes for Pure Honda or Dunning Honda. I question everything I was told by them,when does a appointment time mean, maybe we'll get to you today. read more

I leased a Honda CR-V October 13th 2014. I traded my 2008 escape with less than 54000. The dealership gave me a little over $5000. As a trade/down payment for the CR-V. My payment is just less than 220,/month for 36 months I will pay about $7920. (Plus the $5000) I was to get free oil changes for 3 years---I paid extra. I get 12000/year 36000 miles total. Everyone was so nice and kind and encourage me to fill out "how happy I was with them" survey within days of leasing the Honda. 1) within the first month of driving the Honda I started having a light come on. I took it to the dealership and was informed IF it was an engine issue I would be charge $95 JUST to look at the engine! On a lease car less than a month old!!!it turned out to be the tire. Had it been the engine I would have been charged. 2) my escape was an all wheel. Both the salesman and the financial guy said all wheel and front wheel are the same. NO it's not! I can't tell you how many times when it snowed over an inch I was late for work even leaving extra extra early, or how you slip and slide while making turns on snowy roads;( my poor neighbor had help me the first year because I blocked his driveway and he couldn't leave for work! 3) I want to end my lease early because my son bought me a brand new 4x4 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and since I have to renew the plates (my birthday) this month on the Honda I wanted to make a deal. A) Ferndale claims Carfax said the airbags deployed I was rear ended and NO air bags have ever deployed during the time I have had the car. B) the car is only worth $11000 so they want $4000 plus my 3 remaining payments C) I have less than 25000 miles on the honda due back October 2017. 4.) I am waiting for Honda Financial to come out and inspect the Honda tomorrow. They MIGHT take the Honda back early IF I make the 3 remaining payments PLUS $350 for detailing apparently they said it was in the contract I signed So be warned if you deal with Ferndale Honda do it at your own risk! I went in...and bought it. My experience was excellent. Chris Chapman is an over the top sales consultant. Friendly, helpful, and supportive but in a non aggressive way. I had an appointment at Pure Honda for an oil change, tire rotation and windshield wiper replacement. After 3 hours, I was told my car was ready and paid my bill. When I went to my car, I checked the tires, one of which was marked when I previously parallel parked, and I noticed the tire was in the same position. I told the service person that I was charged for a tire rotation which was not done. He shrugged, didn't even check the tire, and told me he would take he charge off the bill. I complained to the service manager who told me the same thing. No excuse or apology was offered. How can I trust that the oil was even changed? I bought a car and then had regrets. I asked to return it the very next day and got the "run-around", primarily from employee, Nathan. I asked to speak with the owner and was refused but transferred to Nathan who told me to "drive the car for 30 days and you will be losing a lot on this now". Nathan advised they will 'try to look for a car at the auction' but NOBODY followed up with me despite NUMEROUS phone calls to them. So let me start by saying, I normally don't even bother to write a review. I'll just never return to the place of business. BUT, in this case, I had to take the time due to the fact that I am extremely upset for not only the service I received, but the way it was handled. So my mother took her car honda. ito be serviced, not knowing what the issue is. When we arrived, the service engine light was on and it was smoking. It eventually started making a noise. they ended up contacting my 75-year-old mother and telling her what the problem was as far as the oil not getting to the lifters. They proceeded to contact her and let her know that the price of the car would be $1800 including the $150 that was paid for the diagnostic to determine the issue. When we arrived to pick up the car, we noticed the service engine light was still on. We went back in to ask about the service engine light. The response was" we have no idea why your service engine light is on" That wasn't the problem that we fixed. Well, any wise person would assume if you just did work on my engine wouldn't you want to make sure the engine light goes off , before you charge me or released my car, why would I let you do work on my engine and leave with my service engine light still on. When we called to complain, we asked for a manager. We were then put on a hold to only speak to the person who serviced our car, I proceeded to ask where is the manager? I asked for that I never talked to after spending 30 minutes on the phone with the person that's not the manager. I asked for 1-800 number to call corporate. The response was we are privately owned we don't have a 1- 800 number. I said to them so who do you call that's over the building. The response was the manager of the property. Not really sure how things work at dealerships but please be aware of dealerships that scam you with diagnostic test I would not pay $1800 to have work done on my engine and leave with my engine light still on. I ended up canceling all of my other appointments because Dunning Honda was agreeable regarding price, timing, negotiating regarding my trade-in vehicle price and all over very helpful. I would suggest to anyone to do your research regarding vehicle prices, looking over all of the forms carefully at the dealership and ultimately purchasing from Dunning Honda. Please save yourself the frustration and do not go to this dealership for anything at all. Earlier this year I brought my 2020 Pilot in for something covered under warranty. Since then I have been having random problems. My side mirrors don't work. The navigation screen/radio completely stop working. This is the closest Honda dealership to my house so a few weeks ago I made an appointment for them to check it out. I dropped off my car after hours and let them know I would need the car back that same day because I was leaving to go out of town. At 4pm I called for an update and was told my car had not been looked at. Not even looked at. I was told I would need to leave the car for at least a week for them to diagnose the problem. Needless to say I retrieved my vehicle. The service representative was very rude and condescending. Telling me that no other dealership would be able to help me for weeks. Now to today. Last night I dropped my car off at Lafontaine Honda in Dearborn which is quite a distance but where I purchased the vehicle new. The service rep called me first thing this morning to tell me they had figured it out. Mind you, I did not have an appointment because I have been out of town for a month working. It seems Ferndale Honda (pure Honda) destroyed several components within my dashboard when they did the initial "repair". So much then hen they removed the dash parts literally fell to the floor. Many wires where completely bent or severed. The parts that controlled the mirrors were totally broken off and just placed in the dashboard. I was told they do "repairs" on the repairs from ferndale frequently. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time going to this place. read more

Unprofessional dealership, purchases parts and provides services without telling you!! Even one star seems unfair. I took my car in due to it acting funny and abnormal. Turns out that the turbo on the engine was bad and had to be replaced. While they were able to diagnose this issue, during the timeline of my car being there (Thursday to Tuesday) I had to be the one calling for any kind of update on my car. They never contacted me about what they were doing, which includes purchasing parts and providing service to my car without my approval and knowledge. I was always told things after the fact. They ordered a new turbo without my permission, when I found out and asked if it would be covered by warranty, they said "most likely" How do you not know? and if it's not covered, I would be the one covering the expense, which they said would have been $8-9k. They said they needed my car through the weekend but that I could have a rental car. I went in to retrieve said rental car, but half way through filling out the information, they lady told me to stop. Turns out their policy for rental cars is that you have to have Full Coverage Rental Insurance, rather the insurance I have, which is No Fault. More than half the people in Michigan have no fault, thus, they must turn away people all the time. How do they ever have returning customers?! I ended up having to rent a car from Enterprise and it costed me $400+ dollars. They called me when my car was ready to be picked up, and SURPRISE SURPRISE, told me they went ahead and changed the engine filter and my key fob, again WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I told them I wasn't going to pay for that. Cliff, who is the gentleman I was working with, said he would "waive" it. I go to pick up my car and he informs me that they uninstalled the engine filter and key fob since I declined the service. I will never be back. read more

A sales agent from Pure Honda Ferndale responded to my Craigslist posting for 2020 Hyundaii SantaFe and offered to give 32.5K. Based on the google reviews I trusted them and visited the dealer. I even canceled my appointment that I had setup with Cargurus. Only after visiting in person and talking to the agents and the owner, I realized they are doing shady business of falsefully promising to pay an amount, but then try to buy for less. In my case, the promised amount was 32.5K, but they changed it to $29K when I visited personally. They test drove my vehicle and found everything as I had described, and only could come up with an excuse that prices change every day and they couldn't honor our initial agreement. Surprisingly the price they quoted was just one day before I visited them (how can car value go down in one day?). I had a long argument with Nate Taylor (General Sales Manager) and Sheldon Taylor (General Manager) explaining how unethical and unprofessional they were. Surprisingly the General Manager had argued that my time was not a waste saying that it is similar to visiting a dealer to purchase a car and ending up not buying one (LOL). He offered to pay 16cents/mile to compensate for my inconvenience (LOL). This is clearly an incident of shady effort from the dealer to lure people to visit them and then hoping they sell it cheap. read more

I went to pure Honda and had my rear breaks replaced I left the dealership and my breaks were squeaking I took my car back to the dealership twice for the same squeaking breaks Jim went a test drive with me and everytime I would ask him if her heard the squeaking breaks he would say that he didnt hear the breaks squeaking so I took that as an indication that pure Honda didn't want to resolve my squaking break issue at the end of the conversation Jim tells me to bring the car back if I continue to hear the noise as I explained to Jim that I drive this car ever day if there are any issues I address immediately why should I bring it back when its here today whatever your going to do when I bring it back you can do now at this point I can only say that I will never do business with pure Honda again read more

He is been at this Honda dealership for the entire time I have been bringing my car in for service. He is the most competent service representative I have worked with. Tried trading in my car because I need a long term/bigger and a car that is capable of driving my mother around due to her back problem. The sales person was very friendly. However, the sales manager, totally unprofessional. Offered me 5700$ less than Carvana would, (Carvana being if I needed to sell the car asap and my car is a brand new car). He looked at me and offered me the price like it's some sort of a joke. I get it it's winter time, so the sports car sales would be harder. However, he could've rejected the trade without treating it like a joke and throwing the offer out sarcastically. I don't need to sell the car, I decided to keep it. I was upfront with John about what had happened and he was straightforward with me. After having battery issues for two days back to back, I finally decided to have my 2020 Honda Civic towed to this location. Before the tow arrived, I called around 12:30 to make sure I didn't need an appointment to have my car checked. I was told that they were not busy and mechanics should get my car done today. My car arrived around 1pm on Thursday and I received a call letting me know that my car would be checked and someone would be giving me a callback. Around 6pm I still hadn't heard anything so I decided to call myself. I was told that my car would have to stay overnight because they didn't get a chance to check it. Friday morning I called around 9:50am and my car still hadn't been checked. I was called back around 11:30am to check on the status on my vehicle and was told that my car was ready for pick up. I was told that my battery was the issue and everything was taken care of. By Saturday afternoon, my car was having the same issue again. I went back to read the paperwork and it stated that the battery passed the test and was all set after being jump started. The issue I have is the fact that my car is still under warranty. I had been having since Wednesday morning with my car not starting even after being jump started multiple times by battery wouldn't hold a charge. What I don't understand is why after the test determined my battery was "ok" why didn't they run further test to determine why my car was having these issues. On Monday I decided to take my car to Troy Honda and my car was completed within an hour of having it. They determined there were bad cells and replaced the battery. read more

I went to Pure Honda Ferndale last Monday to get my car serviced. I also noticed that there was a slow leak in one of my tires. The car also needed realignment. They let me know that my filters also needed changing which was fine. While I understand that tire realignment takes a lot of time I was still there for 4 1/2 hours nearly 5 and it took them an hour and a half almost 2 just to fix the slow leak. When I got in the car the maintenance light was on meaning that they had not changed the oil at all during the service. When they called me the next day to ask me how my service went, I let them know exactly what went wrong, and they said they would get back to me, and they never did. I have driven this car for about a week now, and the low tire pressure light went off just now, and it's the same tire that had a slow leak before. It makes me wonder if they even changed out my tire at all. It makes me wonder if they did anything at all. I do not recommend going to Pure Honda Ferndale. While they do come off as friendly and understanding face to face, it seems like they take shortcuts, and waste your time at the same time. Very disappointed and I will be taking my car elsewhere for the next time it needs service. read more
