Theodore was having his first sleepover with Freddy. I made the boys Ribeyes and Freddy's mama bought the boys Tailwagger Veggie Blonde. They thought it was absolutely slurpilicious! I even threw in a few ice cubes for funzies. We've driven by this shop many times. Will definitely pop in the near future!
I recently had my first visit to Pure Pawsh after seeing a music bingo event being held there on social media. I'll preface my review by saying that the only unfavorable thing I have to say is about the parking, which is understandable because it's in North Park. It can be difficult to find street parking although there are pay lots scattered around. This is such a cute cozy place that offers many different services, including a store, grooming, event space and nice place to hang out with your furry friend. The outdoor and indoor seating is a plus and is great for people/dog watching since it's right on 30th st. Comfy couches and other areas to sit along with a bar with both humans and dog beverages really adds. It's also nice that they allow outside food and there's a lot of restaurants to choose from within a few blocks. The music bingo event itself was unique and fun and everyone had a great time (not to mention some pretty cool prizes!) I also met the owner who was so nice and helpful and love that she brings her own dogs to the shop. I will definitely be back!

Okay, the fact that I'm just now reviewing my weekly hangout spot is wild. Pure Pawsh is truly one of a kind, and I hope it never leaves. It's more than a bar, doggy day care, or a pet shop -- it's a full-on community hub that supports some of the best local rescues. The staff is so fun and chill that every visit feels like catching up with friends. Yes, San Diego has plenty of dog‑friendly bars, but this is a dog place. The bar is literally made for dogs. Your pups can be off‑leash, mingle, and even enjoy their own brew and snacks right alongside you. My partner and our dog Enzo are here weekly, sipping on a bevy, watching sports, and of course, petting dogs. I leave with a serotonin boost every single time from being around so many happy pups and their people. And lastly -- Ashley, the owner, is awesome. She created a dream space I didn't even know we needed in our community. We love it here, and so does our pup Enzo, who loves trotting in like he owns the place and giving the staff his signature tail‑wag welcome.
Pure Pawsh is one of my favorite neighborhood spots! Every visit is a good time. The staff is always friendly, fun, and incredibly helpful, which makes the atmosphere so welcoming. I love their Hazy IPA and kombucha selection, and it's great that they allow outside food so you can grab a bite and hang out while enjoying a drink. They always seem to have something fun going on from bingo and trivia nights to holiday celebrations with adorable free pet photo ops. It's the perfect place to stop during a neighborhood walk with your pup, meet other dog lovers, and enjoy the community vibe. Pure Pawsh consistently creates a fun, pet friendly experience, and I always look forward to my next visit! Highly recommend for both humans and their furry friends!
It was Amelia's Gotcha Day... the closest thing any little adopted dog has to a birthday... and truthfully even more important. Anyone who knows me, knows that my life revolves around that little spaniel mix. We had a weekend-long celebration with her doggy group, cake and presents at home, and we wanted another outing... so we checked out Pure Pawsh. Pure Pawsh is sort of an all-around doggie playground. They have a gate when you walk in, so it is fully off-leash if you would like. When we walked in, we were asked if we were there for trivia. Apparently there was dog-themed trivia from the French Bulldog rescue. Despite having no idea there was dog trivia, we contributed to the rescue and decided to participate. Amelia tried a dog beer (chicken broth with a few treats on top), but it wasn't her favorite. Luckily, they also had peanut banana doggy ice cream which she devoured. I enjoyed a hard kombucha to start.. Later, my husband and I both enjoyed some local Bivouac Cider. They also serve some beer and wine, and very light snacks. You are welcome to bring your own food. I saw several people had ordered Sister's Pizza from across the street. We had fun playing along with the dog trivia. I thought I knew a ton about dogs, but I guess not so much compared to the rescue people, as we didn't even place in the top three teams. However, it was fun and it was to raise money for the rescue. Amelia enjoyed socializing with other dogs, but, even more, getting lots of attention and treats. It's always great to see her so happy! If I lived in the neighborhood, I would be there each week. I'm sure we will return to Pure Pawsh.
Came here a couple weeks ago just to hang out with my fur baby and loved the atmosphere. Besides the staff being great, people inside were really kind. Even though my baby is still getting used to other dogs, the environment felt safe for socialization. I had the cali creamin fall flavor and my partner had a hard cider. They have a bunch of goodies to buy for dogs and even have grooming and day care services as well. Looking forward to coming back soon
We had an amazing birthday celebration for our best girl, and we are so glad we chose Pure Pawsh! From the beginning, Ashley was so communicative and helpful with planning every detail. We had plenty of space for our group (including some furry friends!) and loved the amount of seating and how open the whole space is. Plenty of drink options at the bar, and lots of treats for the dogs too! If you are a dog lover you will love this space. We will definitely be back. Also shoutout to the amazing person who was working the bar/closing when we were there, sooo sweet and helpful! Thank you Pure Pawsh!

I tried out Pure Pawsh for dog grooming as I had visited during a North Park event and they looked cool. Making an appointment was easy and the services were clear and fairly priced. I was most excited about the single dog grooming happening at a time (my guy is anxious and needs someone's full attention) and the awesome space to hang out and be cozy. The groomer was amazing with him and even let me stand with him at the end when we got to the dreaded nail trim. He did super well and it was a great space - such cool and unique items and a truly dog and people friendly hang. I hope to go back I just don't live super close! Thanks for making such a great space and they host events too- check it out! Your pup will beg to go back. :)
Pure Pawsh is hands-down one of the most fun and unique spots I've ever visited! I first went to their puppy sound healing class, and it was absolutely amazing -- adorable pups everywhere and such a positive, relaxing vibe. They really know how to create experiences that make you smile! My friends & I also attended their Halloween trivia night and costume contest, which was a total blast. The trivia was challenging but fun, the costumes were so creative, and the energy in the room was incredible. It was the perfect way to get into the spooky spirit! Most recently, I went to their Pomeranian meetup, and it was everything a dog lover could hope for! So many cute, fluffy Poms running around, and it was such a great way to connect with other pet owners. Pure Pawsh is not just a place -- it's a community that celebrates dogs and brings people together. I can't wait to see what events they host next because every single one has been unforgettable. Highly recommend checking them out!
Okay getting this out of the way, parking sucks and is not part of the 5 star rating. The dogs are well mannered and the people are acceptable. Showed up after a good run at Grape St dog park. Harper and Scooby loved it, from the patio with dog games to the back area that is off leash albeit a bit small. But hey it's northpark and you can't afford land here either. Stephanie and Sophie were amazing. One took a chicken treat and the other helped us with all the flavors of adult beverage. Will come again. Wish they had dog paw valet service.

LOVE this dog friendly bar! it's such a good concept for dog owners! You can bring your dog and let them free roam and socialize with other dogs while you enjoy a beer and can bring your own food in! They even have "dog beers" you can get for your dog that are different types of broths w little treats plopped in so you can enjoy a "beer" w your pup! They also host lots of super cute events! From Watch parties for different sports to treat making classes to happy hour to name a few! It seems like they have an event/special everyday that they're open and they post events on their social media and website to sign up! I went to the one they had with oorahbayart where she was hand drawing pet portraits for a fee! She got so busy that she wasn't able to complete them all at the event but was able to mail them to us after! My corgi is a big fan of their homemade treat station where you can get treats in a bag by the pound! They have some super interesting ones like this one with mussels in it I think? That I've never heard of! Then they have more traditional ones like peanut butter etc! All ingredients are listed on each one so if you're on the lookout for allergies that makes it easy! There's a rawhide section priced by the piece and she's a huge fan of the chicken feet! For birthdays they have pup-cakes and ice cream in their fridge near the front and I saw a flyer that you could even host a dog birthday here which would be super cute!! If you're looking for a bar to bring your pup with you to then I would definitely recommend this one! read more
DOG THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY (4.5 stars) Like I've said in the previous review... this is a dog place that's human-friendly. My dog and I and our dog friend group love coming here to just hang out, attend random human/dog events, and now have birthday parties here. PARTY-TIME My fur.baby turned 2 (but her first bday with me). I wanted it to be memorable. My previous pom wasn't very social. My newest fur.baby Pom is extremely social and all the things I wanted to do for my previous Pom I can do for this dog. So, I went all out. Reserved space here for the party - it's a 2 hr window (they have different tier packages to select from). I went with reserving the outdoor patio, will bring my own decor, my own everything,, and order catering food. If you want, they can provide decor, good bags, etc. THINGS TO KNOW: - No provided parking so keep that in mind when lugging all your belongings and during the event. - Bring fly fans. I brought 1 but should have brought 2-3 for the table. So many flies around. - Be quick when setting up and breaking down. There could be a party before you and or after you. BUY LOCAL I like to encourage my guest to buy from the place. While I brought in catered food, we couldn't bring outside drinks and you can purchase non alcoholic beverages, beer, etc. when you are there. My dog's party I had gift bags with party favors and I bought a lot of treats from the dog bar and served them at the party for the dogs. Also, while we ate the catered food, the dogs had dog cupcakes (bought elsewhere) and dog margaritas (bought a bottle there) and poured it into little cups I brought for the party. This place is so cool to have a dog menu, dog treat bar, and a dog bar serving dog beer and dog margaritas. My dog and her fur.friends and their human companions had a great time. read more
I think this might be the only dog bar/grooming salon/community space in San Diego!? It's such a unique concept, owned and staffed by the nicest dog lovers you'll ever meet! I love that they have a regular rotation of fun events for dog owners and their fur babies. I took my girl Flora to their "ice cream social" and she had a blast! They offered delicious frozen treats and beverages for both dogs and humans. Flora also had her first photoshoot here during their Mother's Day event. It was exactly as cute as you imagine. We will definitely be back for future doggie dates! read more

I mean it was a pug meetup so it doesn't get much better than that. This place is cute though and has beer so u can hang with your pup. Normally the pups don't run around and u have them on leash but this was a special event so they had everything closed up so they could run. I bought some treats and things were really reasonably priced. Didn't try to gouge you. They have an indoor and outdoor area and u can do some shopping if u want. They also do grooming. I would go back to buy more treats, have a beer or for another pug event! read more

Pure Pawsh just opened and it's such a cute place to bring and shop for your dog! The gated area is really nice so your dog can be off leash while you relax in the beautiful San Diego weather. Theres also a cute photo opportunity for your dog in the outside area (take a look at my pup!). They have a cute selection of dog accessories and unique treats that I can't wait for my pup to try once he's a little older. I chatted a bit with the owner and she was very friendly. Her excitement when telling me all about what they offer and the special events they host (dog/puppy yoga, speed dating, etc) was very genuine and makes me want to come back and support their business as much as possible. This is a great new addition to the neighborhood and I'm excited to have it soo close to me! read more

OMG, this place was amazing! We just had our dogs' birthday party there, and everything was perfect. The decorations were incredible, the theme was soooo cute, and the beer tasted great. We all had an amazing time! This is a place where not only humans but dogs can truly enjoy together. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to all my fellow fur parents. DO NOT BEING YOUR PETS HERE. BE CAREFUL. I brought my moms mini toy poodle to get groomed. I asked for recommendations on Facebook & Samantha the groomer said she colors dogs for $20 additional to grooming of $50. Which is the cheapest I've heard in San Diego. Penny looked so cute once done, bows in her ears and paws purple and black. She walked out of the place looking super excited. Within hours she looked very sad, I didn't know why. The following day, she had a limp, confused but nothing was visibly wrong. 3 days later her paw is completely swollen and red from her biting it, I panic. Finally took her to the vet and they found a rubber band on her leg!!! Right on the line where the groomer had dyed it black. Her circulation was being cut off!!! It was so tight we couldn't see it, it wasn't until the vet had to shave her entire leg to see it. Then the back left leg also had a rubber band but this one actually cut through to a ligament! She required stitches and a cone. It's been weeks and she still has a limp, the vet said it may or may not ever heal again. Spoke to the owner & she denied the whole thing. Refunded us the money & said maybe one of our kids put a rubber band on her??? We have no kids.... The EXACT RUBBER BAND THAT WAS ON HER EARS. This dog may be hurt for the rest of her life due to the incompetence of the dog groomer who used to be a hair dresser. Probably has little to no experience with dogs. I do not recommend anyone to support this business in any form. read more

Hands down best dog groomer I've ever been to. Shawnie took the best care of Mollie, and I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her. Mollie looks and smells amazing, came home happy and got a bandana she loves. The store has the best atmosphere, and dog shopping as well! read more
Well, what a new and clean facility. Very friendly staff, felt very invited in. They also had a bar which is super fun, especially when there's two people and only one needs to wash the dog. Looks like a really cool place to chill has a lot of different accessories and treats for the dogs. The bath wash area has everything you absolutely need and more. We really enjoyed ease of access and cost. It was very open area, and the sun was shining through, definitely coming back here! read more

Came in for a wash because the little guy was starting smell like old socks. Cute little store with all sorts of doggie goodies and apparel for doggie parents. And they have pup ice cream! A must for these hot days. They also offer grooming and pet sitting services. The pen is a good size and is viewable from the street. If you're walking down 30th - it's worth the stop! read more

Great customer service and super cute products for pets. I love this store. It's really fun to browse for your pets or for gifts. They have a great patio space for visiting with friends and even partner with rescue organizations to help get animals adopted. Stop by for cuddles and find a furever friend. read more

Brought my dog here a week ago and I had the best experience. $22 for a wash including everything I might need. I particularly loved that the wash stations are all enclosed and give a good bit of privacy and wasn't a huge sensory overload for my dog. It was clean and well organized. Everything was very clean.
