Took our 3 yr old here for PT she is unable to walk sit unassisted etc . She worked with Jessica she was amazing , kind, caring and wonderful PT. my daughter unfortunately got sick at the time and was hospitalized then I had to take her back to NY. This place is wonderful. I take my 1 1/2 yr old there to see Jill and she has done wonders for him. He has been going since he was just 6 months old and has made great strides to reaching his full potential. Our son would not be where he is today without seeing Jill. I HIGHLY recommend them. One other thing that I really like is that they have individual therapy session rooms so there isn't a bunch of chaos so no other distractions during the session. I took my Son for occupational feeding therapy there. My son is a very picky eater and we always struggled to introduce him new food. He is now 14 months and not yet like textured food and we thought we can get help with this place to make meal time more enjoyable for both of us. I will start with appointment. It took us 5 weeks from initial call to get appointment. Finally we got there and met Liz. She started asking me why we are here and getting all the information about my Son's eating behavior. Then she started taking some notes and asked me to give my son a cracker. Of course my son just smashed it in his hands since he hates textured food. My complains: 1: she starts putting smashed crackers in my Son's mouth with out even sanitizing her hand or glove or anything. You just opened the door for me lady and I am assuming your hand is not clean now. 2: after all the story i told her about how we always had problems feeding him, she starts with something that we never tried on my son. Of course my son is going to cry nonstop and demand to get out of high chair when he is getting something that he hates from a stranger with force. 3: she told me she is not worry that my son is still eating purée in front of tv and first she needs to get my son to eat textured food and moving his tongue with textured food. I understood that part since our pediatrician was constantly asking us to offer him that too. The thing that I didn't understand was her comment about " this is the hardest age to work on them and teach them to move their Tongue" and when I asked what do you mean? Is it too late? She is like no. Around 20 months is the age that they understand what we ask. Ok then I asked do you think coming here would help. She is like "I'll let you know if it will be productive or not. for now let's just try to put pieces of crackers or finger food in his mouth and practice with him and bring him in once a week ". I am confused. You tell me this is hard age to teach them and then you ask me to bring him in once a week for what? Charging me and my insurance? 4: My experience tells me that in these kind of situation you at least need to draw a path that you are going in order to meet my expectations for these therapy. We did not receive anything other than my son doesn't know how to move his tongue when textured food gets in to his mouth and that this is the hardest age to work on this. 5: another thing that was really annoyed me was my son was crying and she was like teaching me how to teach him manner and he doesn't have to cry when nothing is going on. My Son was pushing her hand out of the high chair because she forced her hand in to his mouth. And then she kept her hand in front of him while he was crying to teach him there is no reason to cry when She is not feeding him. You are a stranger lady. Didn't they teach you first let them to trust you with playing or what ever and then force manner to them. You are not a pediatrician. I pay for these sessions and you need to take your time to gain their trust first. It's his first time he is seeing you. What do you expect? Well I canceled my appointments of course and FYI, I did tried to give him crackers with washed hands and he is moving his tongue for me because there was no force and crying. read more

I would give Pure Pediatric Therapy and Mrs Nina 10 stars if I could! I first brought my son here in June for help with his fine motor skills. In 7 months he has become a different kid. He's become excited about school, doing artwork and crafts, and is always wanting to try new things. He was once very intimidated by things that were challenging for him and often gave up quickly. Mrs Nina has given my son the tools to work through problems and push his boundaries while still making him feel comfortable. She has raised his confidence in so many ways. If you have non-standard insurance I would avoid this place, they have a terrible accounting department that really do not care that you have to deal with them and the insurance company. They were fairly rude to us even though we did everything in our power to make sure they got their money. I am sure Obamacare will fix all of this. read more

I love this place! My son was referred by his physician about a year and a half ago when he was four due to a developmental delay. He was receiving physical therapy twice a week and OT once a week. His extremely knowledgable PT, Jessica, was so sweet, patient and helpful in getting him caught up on his gross motor movements, he is now caught up and is no longer in need of her services. His OT Susan was also very sweet and patient helping him improve his fine motor movements. The front desk staff, especially Monsurait (total sweetheart) are super responsive and accommodating in booking and changing appointments. I have had nothing but positive experiences in the time I brought my son here and am so happy for their services. They really improved the quality of his life! Thank you ladies!!!! read more

What a journey it has been at Pure Pediatrics. A few years ago my son would not eat anything but milk (in a bottle), crackers, chips, and one kind of chicken nugget. He had texture issues with gagging and would break down in tears if we ever tried to ask him to try to take a bite of something new. Now my six year old will openly try anything we ask him to, he eats quesadillas, any kind of chicken, pizza, pasta, yogurt, cucumbers, carrots, the list could go on!! I never ever thought I would see this day happening. Thanks to Miss. Amanda who has gone above and beyond encouraging our boy to feel comfortable with trying new foods, building his confidence knowing he can do it and he actually enjoys it. She has always been great at communicating with us at appointments and even through out the week continuing to give us insight on different ways of helping our son. Therapists are great, however, my daughter's progress was jeopardized for the internal billing issues that the accounting department created for months and expected quick resolution from the parents. I really liked our therapist, Susie, as she was very nurturing and encouraging, and I liked talking with her during my visits with my son. But I'm left feeling unsure as to whether or not my son actually NEEDED the therapy, or whether this kind of service is just a money-making scheme. Regardless, I was a new mother, and I did what I thought was right at the time. My real issue is with their billing department. Granted, my horrible insurance--Cigna--didn't cover a lot, but I was blown away that they would send me a bill for over $250 for expenses that they couldn't recover from Cigna OVER TWO YEARS LATER. Can you say witch hunt? Looking for more money by pulling old files to wring them out and bleed them dry much? Technically, they are correct in that they can bill for most of these charges, however, one charge was for a co-pay that I had already paid, and I had to read them their own transaction number on their own receipt before they'd reverse it. Then, without my asking, Josh, their "bill collector", informs me that they have every right to come after me two years later, and that there's no statute of limitations on such billing. Talk about strong-arming your clients. I wasn't even rude or threatening not to pay, just asking for explanations, as their invoice was such an incomprehensible mess. It really irritates me, not only that they're digging this stuff out two years later, when I'm only three short months away from giving birth to my second child, but because I left that office with an understanding that I was squared away money-wise. Susie had spoke to Cigna on my behalf numerous times (probably as much for her company's benefit as much as my son's), and not once did she tell me that I would owe anything further. In fact, I paid for numerous visits out-of-pocket on a sliding scale. Just be careful if you decide to use their services. Get a couple of doctor's opinions, if possible, to see if you really do need these kinds of services, and talk to your insurance company to see exactly what they will cover. Stay on top of all of your bills and get everything from this office in writing. read more

My daughter has been receiving PT at Pure Pediatric Therapy for the last two years under the care of Jessica, and we are extremely satisfied with the overall experience. Jessica is a kind, compassionate, knowledgable, and experienced therapist who has that special magic ability to work with even the most reticent children. At the initial appointment, when I first brought my then 18-month daughter for an evaluation, I was skeptical that my very shy, very skittish little girl would let anyone work with her. However, within five minutes with Jessica, she was happy and laughing and excited to progress to the next activity. Jessica makes therapy fun and finds endless ways to entertain and stimulate kids while also providing excellent therapeutic services. My daughter looks forward to attending her twice-a-week sessions, and even tells me that she "loves Jessica". Even more importantly, she has made significant progress through treatment. All the staff at Pure Pediatric Therapy are just as kind and welcoming -- especially Carla and V at the front desk, who make us feel comfortable, are always available for any questions, and work tirelessly to navigate the sometimes overwhelmingly frustrating world of insurance approval. My review is long overdue because my son, now 8.5 years old has been coming here since he was 11 months. Obviously, we wouldn't be coming to a therapy place for 7+ years now that wasn't fantastic and helping my son overcome his challenges. We were originally referred by our pediatrician and I believe his own kids went here at one point as well. I think that means a lot because doctors tend to know the best providers around. Before we ever had an actual diagnosis on what was causing my sons challenges, it was Liz at pure pediatric who recognized some of his unusual symptoms and urged us to go for additional testing which eventually resulted in a diagnosis. Aside from providing feeding and OT therapy, I found Liz to be even more relevant and knowledgeable than some of the Drs we were seeing at CHOC. We started with feeding therapy and over the years have progressed to various forms of OT. My son loves coming here and we have always had a consistently awesome experience. I love how pure pediatric has taught my son over the years how to do so many things he was never able to learn through his special education classes, or even OT provided by the school district. It was also Liz at pure pediatric Who has been able to help my son with his various sensory problems. She has recommended so many useful gadgets and exercises for us to use at home. I noticed som people had some not very nice things to say about canceling appointments or arriving late. I find this very frustrating because we are all busy families and it's one thing if your kid is sick but when you cancel for convenience or arrive late because you didn't allow enough time to get there for whatever reason, it's ridiculous and completely unfair to the rest of us who respect our appointment times. Pure pediatrics, like most really good places, is booked solid all day long so when people are not courteous about keeping their appointments, it adversely affects everyone else as well. Most places require a 24 hour cancellation notice to avoid a charge and I feel like pure pediatric is more than fair with their policy. In 7 years, we have never had a problem with them and I fully expect to pay $50 if we cancel last minute. If someone doesn't like this policy, they should seriously go elsewhere because it will make room for the rest of us who would like to have their appointment time! Sure, it's tough to get a weekly appointment time and you will absolutely lose part of your session if you're late. Why? Because this place is awesome and they are busy - that is the way it should be! I certainly want my kid going to the best place out there for therapy and not a place that isn't busy because they aren't any good. If you come across a place that allows you to cancel last minute without a penalty, or they offer you tons of great appointment times - or they never have anyone booked before or after you so they can accommodate if you're running late, you probably should go to a different place because that would all be a sign to me it's not a high quality provider in the first place! read more

I have been taking my daughter to Pure Pediatrics for 18 months now and I have to say they have exceeded my expectations. Amanda, my daughters speech therapist is amazing and she LOVES HER! She has done a huge improvement with her speech. When I first started taking her I was a little bit hesitant about speech therapy since I had a horrible experience with her previous speech therapy (the place felt like a factory of probably normal kids that were misdiagnosed but they will just milk their parents, it was so sad to just be around that, so I ended up taking her out of there). Amanda took the time to get to know Mimi before she started to make judgements like everyone else in this industry does, this a small place where you can see they REALLY CARE. That makes a huge difference because I want my little girl to get the correct treatment and at the same time she can have fun, she LOVES coming in and most times she doesn't even look back, she just goes with her friend Amanda or plays with both receptionists which by the way are AWESOME too. I feel like this place really cares about kids and their families, you can tell the difference of a place like Pure Pediatrics where the kids are more important than the money. Most places just care about putting kids into non stop therapies so they can get as much money as they can. I will highly recommend Pure Pediatrics!!!!!! You will feel like family here. read more

My 4 1/2 year old son has been in occupational therapy at Pure Pediatric since he was 3 years old. Not only do I love his therapist and the facility, so does he. It is one of his favorite weekly activities. I love the private sessions. There are no group gyms, so my son is not distracted by other students and therapists. They have an abundance of materials and our therapist is fabulous at always making the work new and exciting. My only complaint is that our therapist is not willing to work 12 hour days to help more children :)! read more

Dr. Liz Koren and her staff are barre none. We didn't even know what OT was until we sent our son there for a referral from his primary physician. Dr. Koren went above and beyond to explain to us his condition and fit us into his busy schedule. She emailed us with helpful links and we could call her anytime and she provided constant communication. She worked hand in hand with his school to make sure that his needs were being met. It took a few short months and we saw so much improvement from our son it made us cry. If this review was only about Jessica and my experiences with her, it would be a five star review. Jessica worked with my daughter for a period of a few months and is very friendly, calming, accomodating and takes the time to answer questions and concerns. My daughter was a late walker, but you wouldn't be able to tell now as she is running all over the place and we can barely keep up. Jessica really helped to educate me and was very good about giving me excercises to work on her with at home. Thank you Jessica! The reason I am writing this review and giving only three stars as the overall experience of coming here was quite stressful for me at times. Scheduling at convenient times was often difficult and if you are even a few minutes late, your appointment time is cut. I understand the need to be timely and deal with other patients, but there were times when there were major accidents on the freeway which caused me to be late or my baby falling asleep and needing to be woken up before taking her out of the car and I found myself stressing on the way to get there. Ultimately, it felt that I was being treated just like a number. If you are a working mom like me, you will need to find help for someone else to take your child to the appointments as finding convenient times is very difficult and forget any last minute schedule changes. Ultimately, the experience of coming here was more stressful than it needed to be. Others who helped me with appointments felt the same way. read more

Unethical business practices. Not upfront with fee's and will not honor fee's quoted over the phone. You come in thinking you are getting a service for a certain fee and then when the bill comes it is completely different. Their attitude is tough luck, we made a mistake but there is nothing you can do about it. The front office workers walk on eggshells around the therapist, afraid to upset her. The therapist is uncomfortable around children even though children are the core of her business. Just a weird vibe in that office all around. Something is just off. read more

They not only wasted my time and money, but the therapist there was very awkward and did not seem to work or interact well with kids. I was referred by my daughter's pediatrician and called to make an appointment the office asked for my insurance information so i did and they told they were going to call me back once the coverage was verified (lt took them 1 week) they are lazy the could have gotten all of that in 1 day! Then I was givin an appointment 2 weeks from that day when they called to verify the apponiment (so I thought) it was to cancel the appointment because the dr was sick. Pure Pediatric Therapy is as good as it gets! I give them 5 stars because I HIGHLY recommend them. I take my 2 year old son here for food therapy with Liz and physical therapy with Karina. They are both very patient and very encouraging and make each therapy session a success! They both offer wonderful advice and go above and beyond. Liz Koren makes up diagnosis to overcharge insurance and patient. Charged for eating disorder consultation because my daughter did not eat a sandwich she offered her. First we don't eat sandwiches in my house. Second my daughter was well. Third, why would you expect a 2 year old to eat from a stranger at 10 in the morning? But sh got to charge the insurance and that's all that mattered to her. When this proved a dead end, she then made up a different disorder, which was also bogus (proof: healthy, thriving kid). After the last session, during which she showed up late and left early, we canceled all future appointments in person. Out of spite or incompetence, the insist on charging a no show fee for a canceled appointment. They refuse to acknowledge repeated requests to reverse charge and have now engaged a collection agency and threatened my credit report. This is the biggest money-grubbing business I've ever seen. Use at your own peril. read more
