    Build a Poke Bowl

Will not be going back. Unfortunately I disagree with a lot of people that love this place. It isn't as fresh as one would hope. I love poke and have been to all poke places in town. This place just isn't good.

Love this location! Always fast friendly service with a smile. Delicious poke bowls! So many options for toppings.. like sweet potato ! Love that they give you a ton of avocado when you add it. Always filling and reasonably priced. Know they have a second location on oracle. Also easy to order on line and lobby is always clean and cool inside .

If you love poke you should try this place! Prices were pretty reasonable and servings large. The workers were very friendly. And the food we yummy. Plenty of option to make it your own if you didn't wanna to a standard bowl.

Solid poke place for being landlocked in Tucson - you can build your bowl, choosing your base, proteins, and toppings. They offer a good amount of salmon and tuna options with different sauces - my favorites are the momo salmon (mayo based dressing with a kick) and the kahuku salmon and tuna (traditional style with base of soy sauce, sesame oil, and fresh ginger). There's a nice variety of toppings with mix of fresh vegetables, salads, and crunchy items. The bowls can be pricey overall but are definitely filling.

I have written a review before. I have grown to enjoy this place. Fresh fish! Nice selection. I like the momo. A little spicy ... I like the smoke squid and shrimp. They offer more than just poke bowls. I would suggest checking out the menu in advance. There are many choices for toppings too! They have drinks. Beers. Island beers etc. Seating area is boring and nothing fancy at all. Too bad but hey.

Poke has healthy ingredients but, face it, it's pure caloric decadence. I'm decadent so poke aligns with my moral values. I have never had bad poke and I hope I never will. The assembly line ordering method here means I can up the goodness even more. Tuna or salmon? Or? How about both, please! Load up on a noodle base, vegetables, and various layers of spicy heat: I'm good to go and will be back soon.

Price and portion was not bad for poke. Various marinades to choose from for the salmon and tuna; there were other proteins as well (I believe crab mix, shrimp, and maybe squid were all options). Lots of toppings to choose from and sauces as well, including cucumber! I paid an extra dollar for seaweed salad.

Clean and good place to dine-in with all that happening nowadays. Generous portion with enough selection of toppings and sauces. Nice and friendly service. For sure will come back again.

Nice variety of fish and toppings. You can add more fish to your preference. The sweet potatoes topping was delicious! Lots of sauces to choose from. Very fast and efficient service. Restaurant was clean and employee was sanitizing tables.

I've been looking for a good poke place in Tucson. I'm glad I came across Pure Poke and Prep! When you walk in, you order Chipotle-style, where you select your toppings behind the counter as they build it for you. There are various fish options, plain or without marinades. I opted for the plain tuna, a Kahuku tuna, and plain salmon in my three scoop bowl. All of the fish were excellent. Additionally, I loved their variety of toppings. Although they charge for avocado, I enjoyed the maple-soy roasted sweet potatoes and cucumber salad, which are free toppings. I had two downsides to my experience. First, I had some confusion about the sauces. I did not get enough sauce and only got a small plastic sauce container. I requested my sauce on the side but was told they charge per sauce container. I'm still confused by the sauce prices since the sauces seem to be unlimited if you get it in the bowl. Second, I thought the quantity of fish I received was small for what I paid. Although the three scoop poke bowl was enough fish to satisfy me, it was quite pricey. In poke places in California, I could be happy with a one or two scoop poke bowl due to more generous portions. Overall, Pure Poke and Prep is a decent place for poke in Tucson. I plan to return!

Great build your own poke bowls! Highly recommend the Dragon bowl too! Service was fast, and they explained everything to us first timers.

The portions are amazing and will last me for more than one meal every time. Although I just found out about the new mini sizes which are great for smaller budgets and smaller stomachs if you're not looking to have leftovers. All of the options are so great, it can be hard to choose. But you can't go wrong with any of them. I haven't tried the pita items yet because I just can't break away from the poke bowls! I usually get my meals to go so I can't comment on the experience of dining in. I will say that just last week when I was there ordering a mini bowl to go, I was really appreciative of the staff who were happy to answer all of my questions about the different options for those, since I was used to just ordering bigger bowls with toppings that I chose. The main gate location is centrally located and convenient even if you're just in the area for an event.

Zero guilt eating here it's fresh, filling, and somehow still feels like a "good decision" meal. And let's talk portions... these bowls are massive. Easily shareable if you're trying to be budget-conscious, but fair warning, you probably won't want to share. This time we ordered the Jimmy's Bowl, we skipped the pineapple, but everything else? Incredible. The spicy salmon and tuna were insanely fresh, the kind where you can actually taste the quality. It just melts in your mouth. Every layer adds something: crisp cucumber, jalapeños, green onions, crispy onions, chili, avocado... it's like a perfectly built flavor stack. I also got the Munson gyro with greens (I went with romaine) and extra tzatziki and wow. Between the feta, the freshness, and that sauce, it hit every note. Pro tip: order an extra pita. I did, and turned it into two meals without even trying. Don't sleep on this spot!

The daughter got a sushi burrito, filled with crab, avocado, cream cheese and again, other items I can't remember. Everything nicely distributed. Both were huge, giving us dinner and lunch tomorrow. It is counter service, get your own water, but they brought the food to us and there are signs saying to leave trays on table, so not total self service. The cashier was very helpful, and gave a great description of the drink the daughter asked about. Thr daughter has a goal of working way through drink menu so we will be back.
