Chicken Katsu with rice and macaroni salad
    Katelyn B.

Amazing amazing food loved every second of it tasted delicious and a very good price as well My mouth was very happy to taste. The flavors they offered. The service was very helpful and quick and it was a nice clean restaurant and I had no problem finding seating. I will be going back!

Kalua Combo: Kalua pork, chicken katsu, rice, and macaroni salad

Surprisingly good! Portions are large and affordably priced. The kalua pork was tender and moist, and the chicken katsu was a good size, thickness, and except for the very edges, juicy. I'm not much of a macaroni salad person, so I thought that was just fine. Rice was a little dry, but not terrible. It's counter service fast(ish) food, so you're not really there for the ambiance, but the dining room was clean. My only complaint would be the staff behind the counter talking smack to each other, frequently punctuated with mild expletives. Not a huge deal, but it would be more professional to not talk that way in front of customers.

Service is only at the counter at this place and it's not good. The older Asian man behind the counter was rather condescending actually. He will talk to you like you're dumb if you have any questions about their menu. Their restroom had no paper towels, but the dining area seemed pretty clean. Food was just meh and not made to order. Their chicken katsu was cool to touch and their katsu sauce - watery. Short cut to save money it seems. Teriyaki beef wasn't bad but again, room temp. Mac salad tasted like tuna salad for whatever reason and the rice was old dry. We've grown accustomed to getting freshly cooked Hawaiian food from L&L and appreciate hot food cooked to order. Three things they can improve to up their game: customer service, cold food, and that awful watery sauce.

Since I needed to go to Costco, I decided to give this place a try. Clean inside. Ordering is done at the counter. The man at the counter was pleasant and friendly. I asked what I should try. His recommendation was the BBQ plate, BBQ chicken, BBQ beef and beef short rib with cabbage & broccoli, rice and macaroni salad. I asked to sub teriyaki chicken for the BBQ one. Done. The teriyaki chicken was good, the beef (both kinds) was dry and borderline tasteless. One pet peeve I have is food served in takeout containers (at least they weren't styrofoam) and plastic utensils. Servings are generous, I just wish I chose differently. A couple sitting next to me had fried shrimp that looked really good. If I ever go in there again, I will order it. They serve Pepsi products and since I hate Pepsi and want Coke products, I drank water. Prices are okay given portion sizes. My plate was just under $17. For dine-in options, please use real plates, not take-out containers. Same thing with plastic utensils. I don't do take-out as I want my meal fresh from the kitchen. If food is served in styrofoam containers, I won't eat there. These were some kind of plastic/paper recyclable containers and too small for the amount of food stuffed in them. I don't really think this is true Hawaiian BBQ.

Gave this place a try again and wow, highly recommend! Aloha plate is the way to go. Kalua pork- must try. It was 50 cents extra but very worth it. The flavor was just right and the meat is tender and juicy. Plus the portion was super generous. The bbq chicken and katsu pork was also delicious! Overall love the prices here with generous portion portions, fresh veggies and hot soft rice. And this time around the food was ready so fast! Highly recommend and I will be returning!

Close to Costco and a good place to get a low cost Neal for Hawaiian flare. Don't know if there was a problem with the cooling system but the day I was there they had a portable cooler running. The food was hot when I received it and we also had vegetable spring rolls which were also pretty good. The space was small and a bit cramp but many people got their orders to go. Getting out back to the main street was a bit challenging.

Pretty good! You can usually tell if a Hawaiian BBQ spot is solid based on their mac salad and this one did not disappoint. We visited their drive thru and got their Hawaiian Mix plate and Kalbi plate. The meat was tender and seasoned well. Didn't care for the sauce cups but also didn't feel like we needed it. Definitely would come back!

When looking for some stuff-your-face, downright irresistible Hawaiian bbq to fix your craving, you can find me at Kahu. This spot gives you everything you need and more, from the juicy golden brown chicken to the sweet and succulent glazed beef rib everything you can stab with a fork from this restaurant is mouth watering, with huge portions that made even someone like me wonder if I bit off more than I could chew. Inside you'll find a simple fast-casual style cashier with friendly staff who promptly take your order and give you your order number. My one critique would be the hard to grasp menu layout. Seating is limited but oddly cozy, and the tables are always kept clean. The condiment situation can get cramped when busy but this BBQ is worth any struggle. Will be coming back for years to come

Great fast food. Always busy. Short ribs are very tasty and cooked perfectly. Fire chicken is a hint of spice. You'll be ok. They go a little light with the Mac salad. Shrimp was over cooked. Will be back.

Great Hawaiian BBQ with the great plate options. They also do family plates. They have lots of room and it is kind of cafe setting. busy with average noise. In a busy part of the Tucson Marketplace, so be careful driving. Pricing is decent. Order at the counter and they call your number to pickup, softdrinks station.

I'm not Hawaiian nor am i from Tucson. Just passing through. Keeping that in mind, my husband's and my experience was very good! I think Americans tend to be accustomed to a lot of food per serving but for us, we could've done with one plate between the two of us. It was very generous portions ! Lots of protein, too much rice and tons of salad on my plate. I got the barbecue chicken with salad. My hubby got barbecue pork with one helping of rice(the mini plate). It was all delicious. Ambience. Very relaxing with the baby blue and voiceless music. I even sound hounded it, i liked it so much lol! I'm not sure about the review that didn't like the aloha sign and surf board but again, we're not Hawaiian. I personally like it. Space wise, there's a main room and if they run out of room, there's a whole other room next to it. Plenty large ! We would definitely come back!

Popped through the drive thru and ordered the kahu fire chicken. The rice was cooked well but the Mac salad wasn't it for me. The chicken was juicy but didn't care for the flavor, it wasn't spicy to me at all. The musubi was good, I'm glad they actually browned the spam cause most places don't. Service was quick in the drive thru but didn't go inside. Overall the food is okay, but I've had better Hawaiian in the city.

First time visit and it was delicious! The service was quick and they were very friendly. The ambiance is pretty fast paced and very chill. I got Teriyaki Chicken with no macaroni salad and instead I got extra rice, amazing!!!! They have tubs of teriyaki sauce and katsu sauce by the soda fountain that you're able to serve yourself extra of and I really liked that!! I usually ask for extra teriyaki sauce so I was able to get it myself. I also got an order of Spam Masubi which comes with two and they were so so so good!!!! I would definitely come back just for these!! I'm craving them right now... Overall, I'll be back!! I'd like to try more things from the menu and also get another order of that Spam

Out of the Hawai'ian restaurants in Tucson, this is by far my favorite and the taste and flavors…read moreremind me the most of when I lived in Oahu. This was our first time here and we had an excellent lunch on a Friday afternoon. It started with an employee, Savannah who greeted us when we came inside with a warm welcome and discussed at length of every product they had. It seemed like she spoke in detail about everything for over 10 minutes. It was surprising to me that we had superior service at an establishment that I would consider fast casual than many of the finer dining options in Tucson and the surrounding areas. I do not know how much Savannah earns, but her professionalism would make one think she is the owner (she is not as I asked), but she is well deserving of a raise! Customers have the option of ordering everything on a touchscreen (kiosk). We ordered the Big - Mixed Molokai Luau Pork, Rice, and Mac plate; the luau Pork, Rice, and Mac plate; and the Molokai Mac Wrap Honolulu with pineapple. Everything was flavorful and the place was extremely clean including their restrooms. They have a solid business going based on my observation as there is a hospital close by. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Since they had just opened, I understood they were likely still working through feedback and making adjustments. I like to try everything at least twice before I form my thoughts about it.. I understand off days happen so I recently decided to revisit Hawaiian Bros. On my first visit, I dined in and found the interior bright, clean and well kept. For my recent visit, I ordered takeout on the app and picked it up at the drive thru. We ordered two Mixed Plate Classics ($12.99 each), which come with white rice, macaroni salad, and your choice of meats. One plate included Huli Huli Chicken (Teriyaki) and Luau Pork, while the other came with Huli Huli Chicken and Honolulu Chicken (garlicky sauce w/ green onions). They also included teriyaki sauce and pineapple BBQ sauce on the side. I hate to leave a critical review but I still have some critiques about the flavors. The macaroni salad tasted very bland and was a bit disappointing. The Luau Pork was overly salted.. and the Huli Huli & Honolulu Chicken were just okay. They didn't particularly stand out. I also felt that the portions were smaller than what I've received at other Hawaiian BBQ restaurants, especially considering the price. That said, the service was very friendly and fast, and they're one of the few restaurants open late, which makes them a convenient option. For the quality, portion sizes and price, I'd probably opt for other Hawaiian BBQ restaurants in town. Visited 5/11/26

Okay... I'm officially obsessed with Jimmy's Pita & Poke…read more This was my second time back, and honestly? Zero guilt eating here it's fresh, filling, and somehow still feels like a "good decision" meal. And let's talk portions... these bowls are massive. Easily shareable if you're trying to be budget-conscious, but fair warning, you probably won't want to share. This time we ordered the Jimmy's Bowl, we skipped the pineapple, but everything else? Incredible. The spicy salmon and tuna were insanely fresh, the kind where you can actually taste the quality. It just melts in your mouth. Every layer adds something: crisp cucumber, jalapeños, green onions, crispy onions, chili, avocado... it's like a perfectly built flavor stack. I also got the Munson gyro with greens (I went with romaine) and extra tzatziki and wow. Between the feta, the freshness, and that sauce, it hit every note. Pro tip: order an extra pita. I did, and turned it into two meals without even trying. Don't sleep on this spot!

The pitas are delicious and so are the poke bowls. While the prices have increased over time, it's overall worth what you pay for. I loved the Philly pita and I also love doing a poke bowl with salmon, tuna, rice and greens. With so many toppings to choose from and other good stuff it's the best. Also the breakfast items here are also delicious as they're also fresh and cooked to perfection. No complaints from me and always leave a generous tip here.
