Well spoken and energized. The portion size at first was eh but I didn't finish my bowl so now I am happy with the portion haha! I ordered half rice half noodles ! It was bomb!!! Spicy shrimp and cream cheese crab. I didnt do veggies. There was people sitting outside and eating which was nice , me and my ruca woulda stayed but we had the kids and aint no way in the tucson hot sun i will pay that price for them to not like it . Haha. So we grabbed it to go and came home it was still fresh and very good. Looked like the manager was out wiping things down cleaning up so the building was clean and nice as well. I came here today to pick up some food for takeout. I got a Poke Bowl with salmon and tuna ($18), a Poke Bowl with salmon, shrimp and sweet potato ($18.50), a large Spicy Miso soup ($6), and a side of Seaweed Salad ($7). Service was fast since no one was ahead of me. I took it to a friend's house and we both enjoyed everything. There are plenty of leftovers, too. I tried Pure Poke and Prep as a little splurge on my lunch break. I had it delivered, which was nice. It was really delicious and I opted for the Kahuku Salmon and the Haole Salmon (I think) as my proteins. I opted out of the rice and just got avocado and cucumber salad. I got the wasabi cream, and the Pure Delicious Sauce (which is their House Made Ponzu). Let me tell you-everything was superb! I will absolutely be ordering from Pure Poke and Prep again! It was just enough and very satisfying. The only thing that I will mention is this: do your research online as far as choosing what to order-my selections were full of juicy and delicious sliced onions. They were amazing, but if I had done my research I would have chosen a selection minus the onions, due to me being at work! Oh, the sacrifice! So, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants delicious, and satisfying poke, with LOT of selections and options. I will be ordering from them again and recommend you do too! Place is clean, they have a few tables inside and a patio dining is also available. They have different flavors of tuna and salmon, squid is also available. They're not skimpy on their serving portions. And lots of choices for sauces as well. The girls at the counter are very friendly and accommodating. First time here and I agree with the other reviews that the serving size is very skimpy for the price. I got 2 scoops but the tuna I ordered was almost out so I was shorted on my 2nd scoop and I asked the worker to put in another flavor to make up for it. The amount of toppings they put on top is small and you have to keep asking them to put more on like at Chipotle or Subway. 1 scoop of protein is definitely for a child size bowl and would not be filling for the average adult. I debated on this review but since it's been 3 months and it's still on my mind I guess I should let fellow yelpers know my experience. I use to go to the tanqueverde location when I lived near there. However I work closer to the Oracle location. I was so excited to see this place come to the north side of town. I go in and it's just me and one girl working. I tried to order and she just looks at me blankly and says "I can't hear you" so I say my order louder, again blank stares and says it's loud back here I can't hear you, in a condescending tone like I know it's loud back there? They have glass that is way too high so I can only imagine it's like a fish bowl. So now I'm like yelling my order and she's just tossing stuff around like I ruined her day by being there. Once she gets to the cashier area where there isn't any glass. I tried to ask her is this location the same as the Tanqueverde location and she rolled her eyes and said yes it's the same name so it's the same company. Like damn girl who shit in your Cheerios! Anyway poke is good but I prefer Jimmys poke over this place and I promise I won't be back to this location again. The customer service experience was awful. New place, first time and may be the last as one of the two staff members was either having a bad day or just didn't like me‍ ...I got a two protein bowl with white rice, hoole salmon (I think) & shrimp with: red cabbage, green onions spinach, carrots, half avocado ($1.25), seaweed salad, ginger, cucumber salad sesame seeds and wontons with the ginger garlic sauce. I didn't taste a bit of garlic from the sauce. It was a bit too oily. The ingredients were delicious, all fresh, the avocado was too fresh, not ready to eat imo. I recently moved to Tucson and I've been dying to find places similar to the things I loved in SLC, so I've been following a lot of Foodie accounts on Instagram--I keep getting ads about this poke place, so I thought I'd check it out! I know that I shouldn't set my standards too high about the freshness of the fish, considering we're not near the ocean, and I can't compare it to Hawaiian poke, but Arizona is similar to Utah, so I think I've got a pretty good idea of what poke should taste like in the western states. Prologue aside, I would say that this poke is pretty good if you've got a hankering for poke, but I definitely would not pay for a bowl. The amount of poke you get per scoop is abysmal. It's actually incredibly disappointing comparing the price of the bowl and the size of the scoop. The star of your poke bowl is supposed to be the fish, but they hardly give you a palm sized scoop. Flavor wise, it's actually well seasoned and the freshness of the fish is pretty good. But in all honesty, I would recommend just buying a pound or half a pound of the poke and taking it home to eat with your own rice and toppings because their selection of toppings isn't that astounding either. I probably would come back because I'm not familiar with other poke options in Tucson, but if I can't see myself being a regular here. The service was good and the restaurant was spotless, but I just think it's super expensive for a tiny amount of poke and a small selection of unique toppings. read more

Fiancé and I stopped in for a quick and light meal after a week of some heavy eating. Staff are really friendly and patient. I ordered a bowl with half and half greens and rice. WOW! What a helping of rice! I asked for a single serving of kahuka salmon with carrots, cucumber salad, edamame, sushi ginger, seaweed salad, and wasabi. I topped it off with kahuka sauce, momo sauce, and furikake. So fresh and delicious! I really loved the fattiness of the salmon! Overall, very good! The great things first! Great protein options-fresh, plain or marinated, all delicious. A nice array of toppings, both savory and sweet, with a good variety of interesting veggies. Sauces are unique and tasty. Clean, well-lit, pleasant store. Okay, onto the not so great. The biggest drawback is the increase in price. The scoops of protein are pretty small so you really need two if you want a a taste of protein with every bite. Add on a tip, and you are paying $20 for a take out that doesn't include avocado. Even some outdoors. Food is fresh. I got the pure poke Tuna with white rice and noodles and the. Lots of veggies. Everything was fresh and tested good. This is one of the newer poke spots around town. It's a welcome addition to northwest Tucson. It's quite small inside with limited seating but it wasn't crowded when I went at lunchtime during the week. Typical modern clean look. Staff were all very friendly. The process of ordering is like Subway. You pick size, then protein like salmon, tuna and others including pre seasoned options. You can choose base of noodles, salad, rice or even half of one and half of another. You have multiple vegetable options and crunchy toppings as well as several different sauces. Beverages are the usual except for a few unusual ones like Thai iced tea( in a can). The poke was good but it's not the best I have had. It's a good place for a quick and healthy lunch. I never post bad reviews and I always give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. I am honestly pretty hurt and disappointed in the meal I received. We come from Alaska where the poke restaurants we are used to give plenty of fish meat and flavor for your dollar..we spent almost $20 on this poke bowl and received 6 small pieces of poke that was buried in an overwhelming amount of greens. They skimped on avocado too. I was expecting a little more than that for the price and can't help but think it's because we chose not to tip on the app. So sad. We were very excited for this place. The fish is good, the salmon had really good fresh taste to it. But other than that, would not Recommend this place. Really pricey for what u get, you can expect very small amount of fish and if u want the imitation crab it cost the same price as any other fish.. the sauce I had was flavorless and ruined the rice, the atmosphere was dark and the 2 employees just looked annoyed that there was a customer. And there's no picking up a number one special for a friend. The protein spoons are small, as are all the additional veg and fruit is on top of your white or brown sticky rice. This place is just not what poke is in the true form...may be cheap if you pick one scoop of tuna which is pretty skimpy but if you pay for added scoops it becomes too expensive because the tuna is just not that seasoned...the extra spicy is not spicy at all... a complete let down ....if you don't know what good poke tastes like then you might like this place....serving staff seems afraid to give you a good portion of fish under the watchful eye of the manager.....don't be fooled by all the free add-ons like spinach, onion, etc...
