Kindest people around. Great prices. Been going here for years, even at their old location

I like that I can find exotic fruit and vegetables that aren't in my neighborhood Kroger. The…read moreoptions change with the season. I'm also happy they carry Sukary dates. They have a better taste (to me) than Medjool dates. I can eat they plain or add them to a smoothie. They're also delicious when chopped and added to salads. The prices are fair and they have an abundance of whatever is in stock. Recently, I've noticed that they put ice on some of their produce. I suppose that helps keep it fresh longer. One improvement I'd like to see is fewer gnats and removing produce that's obviously over ripe. Checking out is relatively quick. I like going early, before the crowd.

Marginal produce at the best prices around. Great selection of general groceries too. On a recent…read morevisit much of the produce went rotten pretty fast. So sharpen your eye and pick out the good stuff (or eat it quick). PROS: The veggies are pretty good here. Love the selection of fresh lettuces, peppers, potatoes, and cukes. Lots of unique Asian and African vegetables too. Love the roasted peanuts in a paper bag. Delicious bread straight from a bakery in Windsor, Canada (check the dates! It goes stale fast). Flowers, plants and other nursery items are sold at great prices outside the front entrance. CONS: I've had terrible luck with the fruit here. Pithy nectarines, hard plums, dry oranges, and forever-green bananas. They specialize in large melons. Roll the dice and pray you get a good one. Watch out for the nasty onions, rancid radishes, and squishy eggplants. Ambience is pure East side, open stalls overflowing with product, kinda tight, ramshackle and clunky but full of character. Very diverse crowd and staff. Service has always been efficient. They give senior discounts on certain days of the week.

I didn't have particularly high expectations going into this Kroger, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was about what I expected. The store is extremely dated and rundown and is badly in need of renovations and upgrades. It wasn't necessarily dirty--you can tell they make an effort to keep it clean--but the building and interior are so old that it still feels grungy and worn. It was fairly busy, and the selection was decent with most of the shelves reasonably well stocked. The bigger issue for me was the overall operation and level of service. Compared with other Kroger locations I've visited, the employees here seemed undertrained and disengaged. My cashier was slow and not particularly friendly, and my groceries were bagged very poorly. The frustrating thing is that this location has a lot of potential. It clearly gets plenty of customers and has a decent product selection, but the entire operation feels like it has been on autopilot for years. A strong operator who focused on hiring, training, customer service, cleanliness standards and modernization could make a massive difference here. With some investment and better leadership, this could be a much better Kroger.

They were great with accommodating our large group and our server was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their meal and everything was served quickly. They even gave us separate checks, which was super accommodating. I was never the biggest fan of gnocchi until coming here where the owner is making fresh ricotta gnocchi daily. He even came over to the table and checked in with us, which made the experience feel so much more personable! I ordered the eggplant parm and subbed for palomino sauce... it was incredible! Be sure to try the chicken gnocchi soup- SO good. The ambiance is dim-lit and romantic, but comforting and decorated like an intimate restaurant in Italy. They also have a great wine selection. I cannot wait to come back!

There was a little hiccup -- no website or photos of the menu that I could find anywhere online. I realize I might be spoiled since the pandemic but not being able to even pull up an online menu (or quickly place a to go order online via Toast) feels like a missed opportunity, especially when they offer a full to go menu. When I called the business, the woman on the phone seemed confused about our dietary restrictions (vegetarian) and when I asked what she could recommend she didn't offer all the veg options on the menu to us, even after I clarified what I meant. She seemed annoyed that I didn't know what I wanted to order without having a menu. After going on yelp and looking for recommendations I was excited to try the mushroom soup... but it was sold out (another surprise since it was barely 5pm). Ultimately what we did order - palomino gnocchi - was very tasty and generous portion size so the food gets 5 stars but the attitude was a turn off. I did get a copy of the menu to post here so others don't have to relive my pain :)
