This review is for their terrible customer service. I went twice for hair and loved the non toxic color and quality, which I gave them 5 stars. Today, I choose to cut my relationship and not give one dime to this salon. I own multiple businesses and I am kind, loving accommodating with my clients and always provide the utmost level of service. Today I had a hair appt at 1230. My company is going through some big changes so I was called to an important Meeting at the same exact time. I called first thing at 8 am today to reschedule to tomorrow, Sat or Sun, with full awareness it's the holidays. The partner Debbie answered the phone. When I asked if there was anything available she was rude, unkind and definitely not even trying to accommodate. She instead decided I needed to receive a sermon about how they send text messages to confirm, and I should've known better. By the way, I never received a text confirming any of the last two appts, so I don't appreciate the lack of integrity in something they said they do, but never did. By the way, I finally received a text confirming the appt, half hour after I called to reschedule today, but that wasn't the point; she went on to tell me that she can't fill my spot and it's the holidays to which I was incredibly kind and asked for some grace as this was a work related thing. She didn't even try to look and said there was no way to reschedule. Everything she said was rude and with zero customer service skills. Finally I asked for grace and said if I could at least be 15 mins late as I was going to try to rush the meeting. Again, it was a hard no, and another speech about how they make a living and can't lose the spot but that she may not be available 15 mins late (note she just told me they can't give my spot to anyone else cause it's too late to fill it but is now saying they may be too busy for me to be 15 mins late ) and that if I want, I can drive by but that's it with no promises. I run three separate million dollar businesses and customer service is number 1. If you can't at least treat someone with kindness and respect but give them a sermon instead and not even try, I'm taking my business somewhere else. Even with my business, I shared with her, I give grace to people specially around the holidays. All she did was complain about my call. No wonder this business is not growing or thriving. I hope they get wonderful competition who offers great customer service. I choose not to give any business to anyone who lacks people skills while trying to take money from people for services. I went in for a balayage and left with a full head of microlights reminiscent of Hillary Duff circa 2001. On top of that my hair was so dry I thought it would snap off at the slightest touch, whatever chemical free product they're claiming to use is just as damaging or even more damaging than the normal stuff. It looked awful. The cut and color were $178, after the foil came out I thought the "balayage" looked odd but just thought it was the way it was styled. I left, and called the next day to voice my concerns. They wanted to charge me full price to get it redone. The manager screamed at me, and I've had a few heated talks before but this lady went off like a rabid animal. She kept screaming (while I was talking), "YOU'RE GOING TO COME IN HERE, GET IT COLORED AND LEAVE WITH IT WET". Which I'm sure translates roughly to "F**** you". Honestly, if Satan himself did my hair while yelling obscenities and cursing my family, I'd still be a happy camper as long as it looked presentable. If that were the case I wouldn't be writing this review. I'm writing because my hair looks bad, really really bad, so bad I bought a hat to cover the mistake I made by going to Pure Salon. Summary: The products they use are not good for your hair, if you're trying to avoid severe damage-go someplace else. I'm almost $200 poorer and look like a little girl who just got her first color from Cost Cutters. They are not experienced colorists, their techniques are outdated and it really shows in your color. The manager is possibly the least qualified human alive to have a customer oriented job, and from other reviews I can see I'm not the only person to be graced by her uhm...unique personality. I've been going to Jacquie for cuts and colors for over a year now. I don't go anywhere else. She provides professional, personalized care, taking plenty of time to figure out what works best for me. The color is rich and I'm so happy that it's non-irritating and smells good. My son got married a few weeks ago. Jacquie gave me great new color and a trim (I'm trying to grow my hair out) and Debra made time to style my hair the morning of the wedding. It looked fantastic! She didn't have much to work with, as I'm in that in-between length, but by the time she was done, my hair looked beautiful. They've moved downstairs to their new salon. It's roomier and comfortable. I went to Pure because I wanted an alternative to the Brazilian Blowout since it had been proven to cause cancer. I was so excited to find an organic process that could straighten my hair the way the BB had done. The stylist did the organic process and within a few days my hair was so dry and damaged that I had to go to another stylist to have at least two inches trimmed off the bottom of my hair. I would not go back to Pure. The straightening product was a huge disappointment! Below is a comment from the owner saying she has no record of my visit. I heard about this salon after hearing about their "clean air" concept. I used to be a platinum high maintenance blond and had drastically cut back on coloring my hair because I was concerned about the chemicals and my health. I had about two inch roots and a lot of breakage. I wanted to start highlighting and lowlighting and get away from base color all together. I saw Debra who is super cute and suggested using non ammonia haircolor which is the type they use. She informed me that I could still do basecolor with the non ammonia to keep the look I had before, but we decided to just highlight and lowlight since it's going into fall and salavage my hair into a bob. I was still trying to understand how haircolor doesn't have ammonia! She used a Yarouk (sp?) treatment and I loooved the smell and the head massage was killer. I finally relaxed for the first time in two weeks. I look like Charlize Theron's little sister! I'm sooo happy with my hair, it's soft and air dries with my curl (I hate blow dryers). Horrible! Disgraceful! Sickening! DO NOT waste your time or $$ here. My mother went to pick up a gift certificate for my dad for his birthday. There was a customer YELLING on their cell phone(the person working even said something about how loud the person was speaking). My mother politely asked if the person behind the desk if they would ever ask a customer who was being disruptive to the "spa like" environment to lower their voice or go to a different area. The woman who was working said "no. I'm not going to say anything because I don't want to offend anyone(I guess my mom doesn't count as anyone). I also refuse to sell you a gift certificate because I don't want any problem from you in the future." This is AFTER she tried to purchase the certificate over the phone but was unable to because of the general incompetence of the people working there. They just said we can't figure out how to charge you, so we can't issue you a certificate. So my mom was inconvenienced not once, but twice by having to make a special trip to pick up the certificate because the people working there couldn't complete a basic task. And then they throw HER out because she asked a question??? It is an embarrassment not only to women in business, but to women in general. Way to go PURE! Thanks for keeping the rude, catty, brainless and certainly not suited for business female stereotype alive and well, and taking it to an unheard of level of ineptitude. I should also mention that my mom is a 69 year old grandma and one of the kindest people the world has ever known. These women should be MORTIFIED that they conducted themselves in such an unprofessional manner, but I'm certain they will feel quite justified in their actions. I have been going to Pure Salon for over a year now and would not consider going anywhere else. I am a breast cancer survivor and have worked to reduce my toxin load since my diagnosis, which included looking for less toxic skin and hair care. I tried another salon that used organic dyes/products and although it was better than a typical salon, it was loud, busy and everyone was just a number. I found Jacquie and Deb over a year ago and have never looked back. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing and the conversation intelligent and often humorous. Most importantly, these ladies know their stuff! They understand the needs of their clients and the importance of healthier options - to the extent that they have even developed their own product line!! The dyes used have no caustic reaction or smell. and Jacquie spent a great deal of time finding a color that made me happy. I never understood why some women looked forward to their salon appointments until I became a Pure Salon client. These women are intelligent, down to earth and now, like family.
