He examined the interior of the ductwork and was able to show me the condition on his camera. It was clear that we needed our ducts cleaned. We called several other companies before deciding on Jase. One of the companies gave me a quote over the phone (I am certain they would have added on costs if I had hired them since they did not ask any questions). The second company was well known. They came quickly as well, but they did not ask many questions. I felt like we were just another number. The estimator was in and out very quickly and on to the next appointment. I advised that my dryer had been inspected by an appliance repair service and another dryer vent company within the month -- both said my dryer was fine...I just needed my vent cleaned. DVW told me that they would provide vent cleaning without their standard inspection. They said their normal vent cleaning fee was between $169 and $285 unless something else was discovered. I agreed to proceed. The DVW representative showed me and estimate of $254 for vent cleaning, $59 dollar inspection fee, and $49 to clean my already clean lint trap. I objected to the inspection fee and showed the technician my communication from DVW and he agreed to only discount the inspection fee by $36. I paid the DVW $326 which I believe was price gouging. If money is no object to you...DVW may be your best choice. As far as I can tell their cleaning service was good. Personally, I was not happy with their business practices.

I was given a 3-hour window when they would show up, and they arrived within the first hour (and were done in just over 2 hours). The crew (2 guys) was very efficient. They explained the process and answered any questions. Then they proceeded through the house, connecting the large vacuum hose via the furnace and using a compressed air hose to blow off the dirt and dust for removal. The final phase was the additional dryer vent clean-out. This was complicated slightly due to the piping layout in our walls, but they managed it.
