In this day and age I know I'm not the only one that is used to shopping online for almost everything. I went with someone who had a shopping list to fulfill, and as a thank you gift (He gave me a vegan whip). The place is nicely hidden, not out there, and gaudy like Ricky's or other sex toy shops; It doesn't scream come look at me I'm here and I'm naked, Even the two mannequins on the display window was tasteful. Anna was amazing. She helped me find new shoes and outfits 10/10 recommend going there just to see her. However, the manager whose name was Karen I think....was VERY rude. I walked in with my 6 month old in a stroller as I was unaware it was 21+ (he's a baby didn't think anything of it). She borderline yelled at me while I was trying to get an explanation as to why I can't come in and look and if they can make an exception this one time. Again, he's 6 months. She seemed to be escalating as I was asking questions, which is very unprofessional in my opinion and a shame that she's a manager of such a fine establishment. Anna offered to help me outside or in the little front entrance way away from everything and everyone. The manager then said "you really need to get out of the store NOW!" Again raising her voice at me when I'm with my baby... I then was helped by Anna (love her) outside, in the 90 degree weather with my baby. If I had a baby sitter or a partner, I would've came back. But as a single mom with a budget this was my ONLY time to get things before I have to go back to work. I mean not to be entitled, I just wish I wasn't yelled at... I was referred to Purple Passion and had one of the most pleasant shopping experiences ever. I was helped by Santos who took me to a room filled with all kinds of shoes. He could see I was overwhelmed and nervous and was patient, he taught me to put on the more elaborate options. He even gave me pointers on how to walk in them since it's new to me. Drove 2 hours to get here, ended up spending 668 dollars. The manager Lolita with the blue hair is impossibly rude. She's also obviously aware of it due to the slew of bad reviews she has! She is the problem. She was explaining to me about the latex that if "i rip it, i buy it" which is like, Obviously lady. I just read a few reviews of other customers that also didn't feel welcomed here and that found the staff's behavior to be rude. I was there a few weeks ago, arrived half an hour before closing time, so I was well aware that I only had half an hour to shop and to pick out some things quickly. And that's exactly what I did. I purchased $300 worth of items very fast since I don't like to make people wait for me. While I was there, I also didn't feel welcomed, thought they were rude, but I figured this was maybe because I was their last customer and maybe they thought I would try to stay or linger in their shop till pass closing time. I purchased one top which I loved, along with some other items. I also saw some cool corsets that I wanted to come back to try on, but I didn't know what their COVID policies were or if they even allowed you to try things on now due to Covid. I simply asked the girl, "Can you try on" and that was all I was able to say because she IMMEDIATELY cut me off and with the worst attitude, a really nasty tone of voice and even rolling her eyes replied, "NO, you can NOT try a corset on when we're about to close!" Which I replied, "I KNOW that you guys are closing. That's NOT what I was going to ask you. I wanted to know if you even allow people to try things on to come back another day with more time. I just don't know what your COVID policies are, or if you allowed people to try things on now." Although I thought they had cool items and I definitely need to shop for more toys and outfits....I can now tell from other peoples reviews that this wasn't just something that happened with me because I arrived half an hour before closing. Do not order online, they are awful! I ordered birthday gifts for a GF. I gave two weeks lead time, they took three and I was late. To add insult to injury, they sent the wrong item. One was correct, the other wrong. Instead of shipping the correct item to me with a label to send the wrong one back, I was told to mail it to them and they would send the right one when they received the wrong one. Why do they think I should pay for it and also stand in line at the post office. Then wait another three weeks, if it came at all. I paid in good faith and waited forever for the items. Now I have to play this game when they screwed up. They won't make things right at least not easily when there is a screw up. Just don't trust them, maybe if you're in the store but you won't get what you ordered if you do it online, maybe not at all. They made it right today (3/11), ordered on (2/3). Because of the Yelp review, I got a call. That's slightly more than 5-weeks. I think it will depend on who you get stuck dealing with. Shouldn't have happened the way it went down. Now it is essentially focused on rubber and latex, but you will find your basic leather pieces and in any case, you can always get things from them, as they are very nice people. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in anything you may need, and there is never pressure to buy. You may try things on and over again, and receive assistance all the way. Nice selection, one oddly rude employee, open on Sundays. I was wandering around midtown on a Sunday and remembered that I needed a vibrator. Didn't have a high star rating, but it was close and I figured it couldn't be so bad for a quick, simple purchase. When I walked through the door, I immediately saw a sign that says all bags must be left at the counter. I was carrying a small tote and wasn't sure if it was big enough to count, so I asked the lady behind the counter if I had to leave my bag. She said something to the effect of "That's what the sign says. You have to leave your bag. Everyone has to leave their bag. It's what everyone complains about online. Have visited here four times over the last four years, and had poor experiences the times I was there to go shopping. The clothing/shoes/costuming selection is varied and reasonably priced (for a sex shop), but the service is definitely mixed. Staff is helpful when trying on corsets, fitted, or unwieldy items, but both times my husband and I visited for clothing, we witnessed customers being fat-shamed, which is really inexcusable (and disappointing in a kink store, where you would think boundaries and acceptance are de rigueur). We've also attended 2 instructional courses (held downstairs), and they were fun, relaxed, and informative. The first time I came to this store, I was completely levitated and ultimately won over by the informative staff. That particular cold evening, I ended up buying a smoked latex top with chain clasps in the back -- absolutely divine.
