I called and verified the clinic does the procedure I was asking for and stated the reason I was coming. They scheduled an appt., had me drive 65 miles with my stressed cats in the car on a 110 degree day, to tell me they in fact don't do said procedure. I took a day off work, wasted precious time I usually spend with my kids, and now have stressed cats at home without any answers. There is no reason to lie and treat people so disrespectful. I think doing your job should be simple when it comes to providing good customer service. I think they should pay me for my 3.5 hours off work that I can't get back. read more

We have used this clinic for 12 years since our dog was a puppy. He is now old and inferm and weighs 90 lbs so I can't pick him up. They won't authorize a prescription for an ALLERGY medication which he really needs because he hasn't been seen recently. So what. I will not use this clinic ever again and would encourage you to do the same. This is no way to treat a long term patient. read more

Pusch Ridge Pet Clinic had been our "go-to" clinic for our beloved pets over the past 10 years. We had a recent experience that has pushed us to seek veterinary care elsewhere. The recent experience was a bit unique as our 19 year old had started working there (she is no longer there hence writing this review now) but what I can say is there was lack of communication and dishonesty that prompted our move. I waited 2 weeks for an appointment for my dog that was suffering from skin issues. I was running a few minutes late so I called to let them know that I was on my way. The receptionist stated "you'll have to reschedule because the doctor is leaving for the day." My appointment was at 4pm and the clinic closed at 5. I would absolutely recommend you do not go to this vet - that one statement made it very clear that they do not care about their patients, if the doctor was not even willing to wait just a few minutes as opposed to leaving early. read more

I had a terrible experience with this vet clinic. They were unable to issue a prescription In a timely manner for the meds my dog needs. The vet diagnosed my dogs condition and said she would prescibe and effective medication. It took 5 days and several calls to finally get the prescription. No help at all from the clinic in filling the prescription. 11 days after our visit to the clinic I have still not obtained the meds my pet needs. The front office people were rude an unhelpful. Wow! What a difference! We have a much closer vet business nearby and after several disappointing experiences decided to look for a better place to care for our beloved dog. We were overwhelmed by the business aspects of our previous vets...never really a personal relationship of any kind and we were looking for a doctor we could feel truly knew our pet and actually, us. What a difference. We went in just to meet and greet and to have our geriatric dog's anal glands checked. This vet actually touched our dog. In fact, he was leaning down to her while she was on the floor and he was all over her, checking her from head to toe, literally. Our other experience did not include anything but x rays, ultra sound, bloodwork, but no real physical exam. For each procedure we were presented with a price list and had to sign that we were responsible for whatever charge. We had multiple 'bills'. Yipes, we were worried sick about our dog and it seemed more like a darn factory. Very cold. Today, we finally had the personal touch and felt the Vet was more like a concerned, highly skilled person who actually cared about our old dog. We are so grateful to know we now have her in good hands where a thorough check of her health gives us confidence. The doctor also demonstrated how we could do this particular procedure at home. His tech, Kelsey, was so pleasant, also skilled and added to the caring atmosphere. We can't say enough about Dr. Tim and his entire staff. We are both retired intensive care nurses and know good medicine when we see it and we saw it today. read more

The staff at Pusch Ridge is very friendly and accomodating. I showed up 15 minutes early in the morning before they "opened" and I was let in. The technician was very efficient and Doctor Poage was very through in his yearly wellness exam of our cat. The doc also informed me about the gums and recommended that I use an oral mouthwash or toothpaste. Our kitty is only 2 and I was surprised to see some inflammation. Was very pleased with taking my dog here for surgery. Their prices were reasonable for what he needed to have done, compared to where I took him at NW Pet clinic. The staff was very friendly and knew what they were doing. They will call you and let you know how everything went after surgery. I really like them, so will continue to be a regular customer. I originally chose this vet for my dog Seymour because Dr. Dubash came highly recommended. She was fantastic, low-key, and caught my new dog's heart-worm disease on a hutch, saving him from permanent damage. The treatment was really hard on him, but they were great to deal with and he cane through it. After Dr. Dubash's passing, I kept going there, but the standard of care was never the same. It was alright, but not great. I liked one of the new vets, but couldn't stand the other. My mom and friend both started bringing their dogs to them on my recommendation (from a few years before), but they both had horrible experiences involving their dogs having obviously cancerous tumors (the emergency Vet's words, not mine) being misdiagnosed as non-cancerous. The attitude they described to me was flippant, as if their concerns were not legitimate. My mom's dog almost bled out a couple weeks after his last appointment, but thanks to the Veterinary Specialty Center, he lived. My friend's dog died soon after his appointment at Pusch Ridge. He was clearly already too far gone, but could have been saved from the extra days of suffering. Thankfully my dog has been fairly healthy over the years, but now I don't trust them. I'm sure they are fine for regular shots, but I want a vet who will catch a problem early. I heard they were bought out by a larger company within the last couple years or so, so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, when we got a second dog, we just ended up changing vets and now recently I moved out of the area. read more

With Dr. Lee retired, we were apprehensive about the new doctor who would replace him, as finding a caring pet doctor can be difficult to find. We are elated do have found Dr. Poage, he is responsive and as caring as Dr. Lee is. The final bills sometimes give a bit of stage fright, but so can any medical bill - for our pets or otherwise. Our pets are worth the time and expense. We find the billing to be acceptable, as much as bills can be. And, the service is hands down, still the best. The staff are caring, and have never tried to push unnecessary charges onto us. read more

I struggle with this vet's office because while yes they seem competent & fairly priced, there doesn't seem to be much love for the animals. Everything is very clinical, not a good bedside manner at all in our opinion from Dr. Dubesh. Feels like it's time to go elsewhere regardless of the price, I'd prefer to pay a little bit extra and feel like the person caring for my pet (my friend!) cares a might bit more about them and will show it by not being so clinical during examinations. I wish the drive to Dr. Michael Samuels on Speedway in Tucson wasn't so far, he knew how to treat animals and their owners like nobody else! read more

As far as the veterinarians are concerned, they are great! Dr. Lee offers so much care, compassion and expertise. The vet techs are also very sweet and helpful. I have had great experience with the care that they have given my pets; they've received care for a rattlesnake bite, orthopedic surgery, and the various other visits. We have only had one bad experience with the clinic, but it only involved the lack of honesty of their office manager. That issue was handled and if it weren't for the great care that they provide, that incident would have led us to look elsewhere for a vet. read more

Dr. Pogue is the greatest vet. He saw our cat on our last visit. He seems to be a cat whisperer and put my kitty to ease. He has a great way of distracting the cat when giving shots. My kitty is usually a trouble maker but was super well behaved with him. He is very positive, funny, and has a great calming energy about him. He took his time with us and did not seem rushed at all. He definitely has a passion for what he does. He is way better than the vet we had in Scottsdale, and less expensive as well! Also the vet assistant was nice! Dr. Lee is also great! read more

I have deliberately waited 3 yrs to review this clinic. It is my sincere opinion that-but for their lack of integrity and vet expertise-my happy rescue would still be alive. One week after Ziggy's "well check", he began having pain in jumping on my lap, on couch & bed. He was seen at this clinic again (by a different vet there) and I was told it was likely Valley Fever, that tho expensive the tests would determine for sure the cause for my pet's pain. She told me specifically that Valley Fever can lodge in bones and joints once it's advanced which most likely caused my boy's pain. This is a blatant lie. Fact. After moving heaven and earth to acquire correct dosage of meds locally and in Phoenix and beginning treatment, my precious Ziggy literally bled out one week later. Over the weekend, he began vomiting blood and then had bloody diarrhea. That day, Saturday, I sought ER care from Veterinarian Specialists at River Rd & Oracle. These folks are true vets. My boy died two days later as a result of a growth in his abdomen which had ruptured. A valley fever expert told me his result was borderline, at best And that valley fever DOES NOT settle in bones. Please. If you love your pet, do not go there. You will not find any expert animal care. You will not find any care there at all. Telling a pet owner a blatant lie about how a disease manifests should result in an instantaneous revocation of their personal license and that of the "clinic's". For the record, I was an original client when this place had one vet, then two vets. At that time, both vets were awesome. This place is indeed a clinic now, in all the terrible ways that humans suffer managed health care -- although us pet owners pay the onerous price. That is the worst. They. That clinic. This clinic puts fraudulent charges on customers' credit cards. Had a very unpleasant surprise when I took my dog in for her annual rabies vaccination: I gave my credit card to the assistant and couldn't look at the invoice because my dog was a little out of control. I noticed that the clinic had charged me $50 for a "wellness exam" -- something I didn't ask for, didn't need, and wasn't told I would have to pay for. The "exam", as far as I can tell, consisted of a few minutes of taking the dog's temperature and shining a light into her ears. A rabies vaccination costs $15-20, so I expected to be charged for that, but then got a bill closer to $100. When I asked the clinic to reverse the charge, they said they couldn't because "it's our policy" (to rip off customers, I suppose). I am opening a dispute with my credit card company and will never come to this clinic again. read more

We were patients of Dr. Dubash, and when Dr. Dubash lost her life we didn't know what to do. We decided to stay and take our chances because we love the clinic. We went in and saw Dr. Casper who was just amazing!!!!!! I have always had a positive visit with the Vets. at Pusch Ridge Clinic. I especially like Dr. Halstead. He does an extremely through physical ( hands on exam ) I have always viewed a doctor, whether it is a people doctor or a Vet, as an excellently trained doctor if they know how an animals body should feel as opposed to a doctor who may depend on instruments or technology alone. I have had mistakes on my bill however once I point a mistake out to someone in the office I have never had any trouble getting a mistake (which we all make) removed from my bill. I have had poodles for 50 + years and have been to Vet. Clinics all across the country for many problems in my life with dogs. I can honestly say Pusch Ridge Pet Clinic ranks in the top two out of all the clinics I have dealt with thought out my life. The other Vet. Clinic in my top two is in Pennsylvania which is a heck of a commute from Arizona. So from here Pusch Ridge is #1. read more

We have been going to Dr. Gregory Lee for almost 20 years. He was at Northwest Pet on Oracle and Ina some years back. He has seen our family of pets for all these years. We are on second dog since moving to Tucson and he is going on 12 years old. Dr. Lee has situated himself at this location for a few years. We lost contact because Northwest never told us where Dr. Lee went. Somehow, we were able to reconnect at this location. So glad we did. Dr. Lee is the most caring intelligent vet we have encountered. His staff is delightful. We saw Dr. Dubash on one our visits and she was just as competent as Dr. Lee. The fees here are very fair and they do not push anything on you that is not necessary. So glad to have Pusch Ridge care for our Arlo (rat terrier) who is the light of our lives. read more

Kind, friendly staff. They became our clinic a few years ago when our Maddie got sick. We saw the late Dr.Dubash. Maddie was worked in same day and treated. Just took her for exam and shots. Same great service despite their recent tragic loss. They are dedicated to the care of the patients and owners. I've recommend them several times and have gotten back wonderful feed back. Dr Halstead's care of our 16 year old italian greyhound, Rhapsody, went beyond my expectations. Not only was the dental performed very well ( I know because Rhapsody will now let me brush his teeth a little again) he removed a largish tumor from his little leg and you would never even know it was there. The technician and staff are great too. We really loved Dr Lee when he was there but we are very grateful that Dr Halstead has taken his place. He really knows his stuff and competently fixed up our old baby boy. If you want excellent care and a caring staff for your precious pets this is the place to go. Thank you!! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Utterly disgusted with the way our poor senior kitty was treated here. She is an 18 year old cat with a large fluid filled mass on her shoulder. My mom had brought our kitty in several times to have it drained. The last time she was taken in, the doctor said it didn't need to be drained , despite my mom insisting that it was growing and needed to be done. So I took her in to see "Dr." Poage. Duchess is old, sensitive and frail given her age. She's also uncomfortable because of the mass on her shoulder. Dr. Poage made no effort to introduce himself to Duchess or to try to make her comfortable, seeing that she was already in distress and scared. Zero bedside manner and incredibly unfriendly. He just reached in to the carrier so she hissed and tried to bite him. He said he would need to muzzle her, but when he tried he said he couldn't because she was too angry, when in reality, he didn't put the muzzle on properly and she ended up biting him. He got very aggressive with her, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck and dangling her into the air! I realize that this is how you're supposed to grab cats, but she's very old and fragile and he was probably hurting the mass on her shoulder by grabbing her the way he did. I have NEVER heard my cat cry and scream the way she did as he was hanging her in the air. I wanted to cry myself because the sounds coming out of her were so horrific. She was clearly extremely terrified and in pain. She was SO scared that she peed herself as she was hanging in the air. He made a comment about her peeing as if he was annoyed that she peed! He aggressively put her back into the carrier and said he would not be able to drain her mass because she was too worked up. He then asked me if I would want to leave her. UM, NO! There's no way in hell I would ever consider leaving her there. My comment back to him was that she's old, fragile, and doesn't like to be poked and grabbed! If he treats animals that way when I'm in the room I hate to know how he treats them when owners aren't in the room. I understand that my cat was hissing and acting aggressive (which she usually is not), but he acted like he'd never dealt with an animal in distress before. Isn't that his job? He seemed as though he had no idea how to handle this situation. Even the vet tech who was also in the room seemed confused and unsure what the doc was doing. Duchess has had this procedure done before without any problems, so there is most definitely a problem with this guy. Completely incompetent and unprofessional. Poor Duchess was limping when we got home due to the aggressive nature in which she was handled. Noticing other similar negative comments about this doctor from even several years back, it's obvious that this is a pattern with this guy. My poor baby was terrified and totally traumatized by this incident and I strongly encourage others to take their fur babies elsewhere. We will be bringing our babies elsewhere going forward. read more

WARNING! The most incompetent, careless pet clinic. My dog was unfortunately diagnosed with diabetes. We were told to come into the clinic first thing on a Monday morning since we received results on the weekend. When we arrived, we were denied and told to come back that Tuesday. This we very depressing news since her levels were four times what they should be and we wanted to get her on insulin immediately. Then, during a follow up appointment, we were told by the tech that she needed to speak with the vet because her insulin levels have decreased. WE NEVER HEARD BACK. This was incredibly frustrating since you never want to give too much insulin to your pet. We called the office to follow up. We were promised to get a call back. Never got one. We followed up again the next day expressing our concerns and STILL no call back. We just decided to schedule an appointment and no one could get us in. Further, we needed new syringes and they were out of stock. Then again, we had to follow up. We were promised a call back. Still nothing. The lack of care the vets and staff have are major red flags! I would look elsewhere!! read more

Pusch was able to get us in quickly and made the visit very easy. Front desk staff, vet tech's and the vet were all friendly, caring and happy. Unfortunately, every single visit to this clinic has left our cat traumatized and full of anxiety. Although the front desk staff is friendly and caring, the Vets and Techs do not seem interested in animals at all. The want you in they want your money and they want you out as quickly as possible. If you are looking for a Vet and Techs who actually care about their patients, DO NOT go to this clinic. I recently began using Pusch Ridge Pet Clinic because my vet made a change and began working there. In a previous review I mentioned her, Dr. Michele Estheimer, and the compassion and concern she demonstrates when caring for my kids, as well as the level of patience she demonstrates dealing with me. I'm the kind of parent that freaks out and wants blood work and xrays whenever my dog sneezes or doesn't want to eat. Dr. Estheimer is as good a vet as you will ever find. She's intelligent, responsive, and caring. She is the reason I now drive almost 30 minutes to get to her new location and will not consider taking my kids to anyone else. However, I have been equally impressed with the staff and vet techs at Pusch Ridge Pet Clinic. Over the past week my dog was in their care almost every other day while she fought an extreme case of pancreatitis. Everyone I came in contact with was so helpful, supportive and professional I was immediately reassured that my little girl was in good hands. My dog is almost 14 years old and this illness was the worst I've ever seen in any of my 11 rescued dogs over the years. There were some days when I feared the worst. Thankfully, she has recovered and is back home. Words cannot express my gratitude for the treatment prescribed by Dr. Estheimer and the execution of that treatment by her and the entire Pusch Ridge team. They delivered veterinary care at the highest level and I will never, ever complain again about that 30-minute drive! read more
