Instead of doing the oil change properly, their technician chose to vacuum the oil out because removing the undercarriage cover would "take too long." We relied on their expertise and trusted they knew what they were doing. The car was driven a short distance after the service and seemed fine. The next morning, however, it started misfiring immediately and was clearly unsafe to drive. The vehicle remained parked until it could be evaluated, and was eventually towed to a certified mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed a missing camshaft seal and advised that this type of failure is consistent with improper oil extraction using suction equipment and would not occur during a standard oil change. We paid $613.79 in repairs, plus the original $97.95 oil change. We made multiple attempts to contact the shop (calls and email). Eventually, their claims manager called on 3/25/2026 and denied the claim solely because they didn't get to inspect the vehicle first ignoring the fact that the car was unsafe to drive and that we didn't even know they caused the issue until after a professional diagnosis and repair. At this point, it's not just about the damage, it's about accountability. Cutting corners for convenience caused real damage, and they've refused to take responsibility. We are now pursuing this through small claims court. Use caution. An oil change shouldn't result in engine damage.

As a woman, and a senior citizen, taking my 2002 chevy to a repair shop has, at times, been a…read morenightmare. Then I found youngs river auto. I had gone to another repair shop the previous week and left there terrified my car was about to fall apart. I pulled in to youngs river and they took a look at the issue and assured me I was in no danger of a catastrophe any time soon. The next week my check engine light came on and they were able to squeeze me in to see what the issue was. While my care will need some work and further investigation to find the issue I feel confident they will be able to find and fix the problem. Josh is amazing. He is kind, caring and does not talk down to me just because I am an old lady. His wife is also very friendly and kind. While waiting for my car the second time an older couple came in to pick up their car. They were preparing for a road trip and when Josh assured them all issues were fixed and they would have no problems they were so relieved and appreciative that they also had found this repair shop. While my little car will still need more work I feel like I can relax and not worry about being taken advantage of or told I need repairs I dont need. This is a HUGE relief, especially on a fixed income. I would highly reccoment Youngs river auto to anyone who, like me, is always skeptical and not sure who to trust. These people are awesome!

On a whim I drove over to this place and figured that although I didn't really need one, I could get an oil change and hopefully get my air checked before I headed back to Washington State. I showed the guy the oil change reminder sticker and said that it was probably too early to get it changed but that I needed my air checked. He told me to pull into Bay 2 and then after we determined that I didn't need an oil change yet, he filled my tires with air. He didn't charge me at all and although I was worried that I would be inconveniencing whomever pulled up behind me, he just directed me back out and I was able to turn my car around to leave. I really, really appreciated their service and the next time I am due for an oil change and am in the area I will definitely use this location.

Turns out our alternator got shorted out and shortly after leaving Valvoline our truck died and we were stranded 1 1/2 hours from home. We had to have it towed home, but an alternator and repair. We are out money for a tow, and repair and Valvoline has yet to make us whole or contact us. Dawson Cook the manager at this shop has not once contacted us and we have called Valvoline & submitted all receipts and have repeatedly been told a check will be sent, yet with each call we make we get the same story - that Dawson Cook hasn't submitted his part of the paperwork. Do not give this place your business, if anything goes wrong you cannot speak to anyone that actually deals with the problem you are just sent "further up the chain" which gets you nowhere. We submitted our claim with all receipts and need this resolved. Claim # CS2247067. Plan on hiring an attorney if you use Seaside Valvoline.
