I'm still in complete awe of my refreshed color and style -- I can't help but double-take and light up each time I pass my reflection. She took her time with an in-depth consultation and heard me out on my hair history, my concerns, my ideal vision, etc. She applied her expertise and executed on every note. I have quite a bit of gray at the top so I wanted to go lighter than the typical "caramel" tones I would ask for in a regular highlight. Robin referred me to Johnny and he did an amazing job! I showed him a couple pictures of the tones I wanted and he nailed it. Asian hair is a bit tricky to lift without it going brassy so I was pleased that Johnny was able to give me more taupe/beige tones using the balayage technique that would enable me to grow out the color gracefully. A couple notes: Unless your hair has never been dyed, going dramatically lighter is going to take time. I wasn't expecting Johnny to be able to get the lightness right away so I was shocked that he was able to produce the tones I wanted. I'll probably add more light pieces as my grays grow out but this is exactly the starting point I wanted. Also, not sure what the previous reviewer was expecting but balayage actually translates to "sweep" so it's meant to look like the lights were painted on in a natural way. I think balayage is a more modern look but if you're looking for super even then I would stick to traditional highlights. Anyway, having worked with Robin, Rebecca and now Johnny, I think this salon has a great eye for talent!

The salon is located inside the PV Mall, right next to the PV Ice Rink. I think the space itself is a bit dated...with some worn-out seats that could use an update. The overall experience was great. The friendly staff and kid-friendly setup made it a smooth and enjoyable first haircut for our daughter.

I called two days in a row during their operating hours and got no answer. I decided to go in person and saw a sign that said they were closed for a personal issue. It would've been nice if the voicemail box claimed so but perhaps it was a last minute emergency. The interesting: They want you to pay in cash. This store is located inside an area with the ice skating rink and Ruby's Diner. They do adult haircuts too!

When it was done, I was offered a mirror to look at the back of my hair. It looked too much like a bowl cut for my taste, so I let her know. She told me that's how she thought I wanted it. No big deal! She spent a couple minutes cutting the back of my hair and then basically sent me on my way. Didn't offer to show me the back again, or ask if I liked it. I ended up being disappointed when I got home and it was still giving bowl cut a little. And the haircut was $30 for just a trim, no wash! Tl;dr I didn't feel like my wants were taken into account, I felt like they wanted me to get in and out as fast as possible so they could take my money. Wouldn't go there again. I rented a space here at The Social Salon Suites for about 2 years and the experience my business…read morepartner and I had was amazing. Nourbert and Rosie are the owners of the suites. I can't even explain how helpful and kind they both are. Every time I had a question or an issue they resolved it right away. For example, I left my keys home one day and came to work I couldn't get inside my suite so I contacted Nourbert and he immediately sent someone to open my place. I never had a problem or anything bad to say about this place. The place is always clean, bathrooms clean, lunch room clean and they also decorate for all holidays. They leave you alone to do your own thing but when you need them they are there to help you. I easily rented the place and easily left with no problems. Honestly I would never have left this place but I needed to expand my business. A big thank you to both Nourbert and his wife Rosie. Both of you are beyond amazing!!!!
