I was pleasantly surprised to find a black barber in San Pedro. Of course, he doesn't only cut black folks hair; however, I am a black female with a teenie weenie afro (twa) so I need a barber that knows how to cut black hair and can cut a black female's hair without making me look like a boy... success! Devon did a great job, especially since he was helping me by fixing a cut I had recently gotten but was not thrilled with (thought I wanted to start growing a frohawk... not!). The shop was clean, everyone wore masks, and there was ample room for social distancing. I appreciate good customer service and Devon acknowledged me as soon as I walked in. He let me know right away that he was running about 20 minutes behind. This wasn't an issue for me because stuff happens and I was appreciative of the fact he let me know that as soon as I arrived rather than just letting me sit there wondering what was up. Once he started my head he was pretty quick but not rushed. During my time in the chair, he was very pleasant engaging. Oh yeah, the prices are very reasonable too! I definitely plan to return to keep my new cut fresh. read more

If u couldn't tell by the images provided, this isn't a very good black barber shop. I've seen a lot of people leave this shop with pushed back hairlines and uneven sides. Fades and designs aren't they're strong suit. Wouldn't recommend to any younger people who care about what their hair looks like. Edit 10/4/19: The owner says I haven't been there and that I'm just leaving a bad review because I felt like it or something but I went there regularly for at least a month. The old guy that cut my hair didn't take his time. I was in and out of the chair in 10 mins. and got a sloppy haircut. There was hair behind my ears and uneven. I asked for a low fade and got something totally different. I even brought a picture and he still couldn't get it right. He was more interested in giving his other customers respect. If you are gay and need a cut, don't come here. The ignorance and intolerance is unbearable. He then had the nerve to have his hand stuck out for more money after I gave him $30.00.
