Eclectic eats, its fun, casually divey decor, a spacious backyard with a craft cocktail back bar, comfy outdoor seating, and a place for live music and dancing make this a very chill hipster homesteader hang for the Northwood nouveau. My Banh mi burger was really good, and the rest of the menu, while limited to the smaller kitchen, also had stuff that I'd like to try. Service is excellent. The bartenders are top drawer, and just as eclectic as their often ersatz cocktails. When you arrive, you'll often see the small front bar empty. Drift through the door to the back and you'll hit Pétanque Central. Definitely a reason to drop into Northwood's growing restaurant Renaissance.

    Love the outdoor ambiance here!!

I live in Old Historic Northwood so I'm partial to the businesses here, but Pentanque stands out as one of my favorites. The staff are always friendly, as well as helpful with cocktail or food suggestions. I always sit outside, in the back, because the atmosphere is casual and inviting. I've been here on nights they have trivia, as well as when they have small jazz combos. It's always a fun time! The menu isn't complicated, burgers, salads, charcuterie, kebabs...but it is ALL delicious. Of course I'll be going back, often. If you don't speak French, don't worry, they'll teach you, one word at a time.

I learned that the name comes down a game similar to bowling / shuffle board. I'd say this is one of he coolest little places I've been to in downtown WPB. It has a huge back yard with a ton of fans. The vegetable tray was amazing and the absinthe drink is really cool!

Great get away place if you want to unplug from Downtown WPB .. Northwood .. " Worth checking out" ... live music every night .. food is solid ... great burgers ... signature fries ... excellent service ...

The place is tucked away and low key on purpose, but once you step inside, it's like entering another world. A magical land where cocktails reign supreme and Vincent is the all-powerful sorcerer behind the bar. There's no menu here... and there doesn't need to be. You simply tell Vincent what you're craving, and he conjures it with a flick of the wrist, a dash of bitters, and probably some ancient incantation whispered under his breath. I had three... maybe four drinks (time works differently in magical places), and each one was flawless. Complex yet balanced, bold yet smooth... true potions of happiness. If you're lucky enough to find yourself in this enchanted hideaway on the one night a week it's open, let Vincent work his craft. Just know you'll leave spellbound... and in my case, headed straight to bed, because even wizards can't save a 40-year-old from an early bedtime after a few too many old fashioneds.

The wait was pretty long but the bar was first come first serve so we hoped to snag a spot there instead. The restaurant itself is tight. It's long but thin and the waiting area is like nonexistent so you're basically all huddling around people's tables. Luckily we were able to get drinks while we waited and the drinks were delicious. I ordered "The Crush" which had green grapes in it. It was so refreshing and delicious!! It's been a couple of weeks since we went and I'm still thinking about how good that drink was. I forgot what my bf got to drink but he enjoyed it as well. Finally some seats opened up at the bar and we were able to sit there and I'm so glad we did. Our bartender, I believe his name was Sam, was on point. Just exceptional service from him. He was great at his job and we also really enjoyed our conversation with him. To eat we ordered the deviled eggs, the tuna tartare and the Emerald Kale Salad with Rotisserie Chicken. The salad was just so incredible we ordered one to go as well. The food is absolutely worth coming back here for, the tuna tartare was also fantastic. The deviled eggs were okay, but I'm not a good judge for them as I'm not a huge deviled eggs person. Next time we're in the area I need to come back here. So good!!!

My favorite items were the chicken meatballs (perfect texture, with the right amount of spicy mustard) and the prime rib sandwich (the bread was soft, steak was juicy and tender, horseradish was creamy). ALL of our dishes, however, were soooo good, and I'd order any of them a second time! Small seating area inside (just a few tables and bar seats), and they don't accept reservations, so expect to wait a little bit. The inside is dark, with warm lighting and big leather booths; you don't feel like you're in south Florida anymore, it's a northern cozy vibe. Service was nice, but didn't check in often enough (often times having to flag someone down for utensils, plates, etc). I would definitely return here for dinner!!

There's extra vegetables in the dishes. The macaroni salad was to die for. The herbs were right on. The peas and rice were so tasty. I had to hold back from eating more and filling up. Complementary fried plantains were added to the order. The jerk chicken was incredibly tender and there was spicy sauce on the side, added to the chicken. We had not eaten oxtails before. Go figure! They were so Tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was excellent with added carrots and butter beans. So good. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes they offer. Service: Very friendly and attentive. Most people seem to order and carry out. We chose to eat in and they went out out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Ambience: Again, it's more of a carryout restaurant, but the restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. When I go back, I would like to sit down and eat in the restaurant with its colorful decor and reggae playing on the speakers again. Really enjoyed eating there and watching people go in and out with their takeout orders.

It quickly became clear why the drinks receive high praise! They were indeed delightful and well crafted. However, my experience with the food left much to be desired. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, which were topped with a creamy sauce. Unfortunately, the dish did not meet expectations, falling short in flavor and presentation. I would rate them a mere two out of ten. Additionally, we tried the oysters, which were disappointingly bland. Even with various toppings, they lacked the fresh vibrant taste one hopes for when enjoying oysters. Regrettably, both dishes missed the mark for me so I decided not to order more food and go somewhere else. On a positive note, our server was exceptional friendly, attentive, and accommodating, which helped enhance our overall experience. The restaurant's ambiance was mature and inviting and its location is indeed impressive. Despite the high ratings and popularity, I found the food lacking, which makes me hesitant to return. While I appreciate the quality of the drinks and the warmth of the service, the culinary offerings did not live up to the hype considering the basic dishes I ordered. Go for drinks only!
