Went in there for a full set, French, and some nail art after another place didn't work out. It was near closing and so I asked if it was okay and he assured me that he would stay as long as he needed. I asked if he owned the salon or worked there. He told me he worked there (he was the owner and knew I likely would tip differently.). He finished three minutes before closing. An entire set with nail art in less than an hour. It did not look good. Was already lifting up by evening. I went back to complain and he was talking so loudly to make sure that everyone heard and was it seemed trying to embarrass me (and I am pretty shy so it worked..) he said they were lifting up Bevause that's how French looks. It's not, and it's lifting up before the French starts. Got me to get a different color not be shade it would look better, but because their color selection is terrible. I just can't believe the owner would blatantly lie and be dishonest multiple times send then treat me poorly when I sought to have the problem fixed. Customer service is on spot. I had the gentlemen do a gel pedi for me and he was very kind and kept asking if things were good, the water temp, the chair, the color. My friend had his sister and she was just as nice. Luckily he had asked me if I liked the color once it was on because it was a lot brighter than I expected, so he willingly changed it. He offered tea to us and had friendly conversation. They were great, only thing I didn't like was the shape of my actual nail. I should have asked them to do a round square file, maybe he wouldn't have missed the corners.. see pic. I can go home and file them nicer, so it's not a huge deal but for $45, I'd like better quality. Usually I do my own gel pedis because I'm a perfectionist so I'm probably nickpicking. Customer service is great and when I arrived (with a mask on) the receptionist prompted me to wash my hands with hot water and spray alcohol on them afterwards. My mom and I went there first time and was so impressed from the look, cleanliness, nice decorations and of course the lady's doing the manicure and pedicure by the name of Mimi & Kim, very polite, courteous, and had a good entertaining conversation. I found this salon after my normal nail salon was booked. I'm so glad I did! I love so many things about it. I love that they're located in a business center and not in a grocery store parking lot. It makes the salon feel a lot more upscale. You will be greeted by the sweetest people. I was welcomed so warmly and asked often if I needed anything. They are following COVID safety precautions and asked that I wash my hands which I really liked. I felt safe knowing everyone was required to. I asked for a French tip which always makes me nervous. I actually stopped getting French sets a long time ago because I got tired of not getting exactly what I wanted. But Lani did an amazing job! I went to this nail shop 3x since I move on this side of town. I consistently went to Tip Top nails for 2 years every two weeks to get my nails done. When I arrived here the owner or manager informed me I had an appointment 1hr early after calling and changing the day before. The miscommunication did not bother me as I was still willing to get seen as WALK-INS ARE WELCOME. There for 4 nail techs working. 1 was not busy the other was just finishing. OKAY COOL. I got time! Well... before starting the manager/owner said they would TRY TO TAKE CARE OF ME. I said " if it will be a problem it's no big deal to get it somewhere else." As I was headed out of town. IT WAS REALLY NO BIG DEAL to get them done some place else if they were restricted on time. Like REALLY. I was still willing to come back after. My issue is when 3:59pm hit and 2 4pms walked-in. The nail tech who was available to work on me had a 4pm and stopped my nails to work on the next person leaving me without a pedicure apologizing. Please don't accept walk ins if 1. You don't have enough people working or 2. Just say you're appointment ONLY if you can't handle extra people. I'm more upset about being left hanging and taking my money and not finishing what I wanted. IT WAS VERY MONEY HUNGRY. I understand businesses is struggling through the pandemic but if you cannot do the job all the way then, don't start it and rush it either! Went to another state to go to another shop and change the color on my hands just so my feet could match. Now I've spent more money at this point. just to get the job finished. It was poor service and I did not feel welcomed at all only because y'all didn't finish and KNEW y'all couldn't get it done. I would have definitely came back to this place if they were honest and told me NO flat out. Like I said it was not a big deal because I understand ppl had appointments but there was 2 ppl being worked on and it was not busy at all. I felt played by this place. Just half assed my stuff and no discount and no apology from the owner/ manager himself. Now I will not be coming here again. If you're a walk-in it's likely you're nail tech has an appointment and may not finish you or rush your appointment. Q is so nice AND professional. He was extremely cordial and inviting. The place is very clean. He has a wonderful selection of colors to choose from. Helen did a simple polish change for me on my natural nails. She left a lot of the previous color around my skin and cuticles. She didn't do the best job especially at $10 for a polish (+$5 tip). I still recommend this place. I would come back but ask for a different person to try out. ****UPDATE**** Ok....not even 24hrs later and so many nails chipped! The only reason I gave two stars is Q was so nice and the place is very clean. BUT very unhappy with the quality of top coat the lady used on me. It was chunky and dripping and just looked plain bad. So after being there for 2 hours, and them redoing it - it still looked horrible- she had to leave. She asked for a discount on the toes, after 2 nail technicians said it looked bad and didn't know what was wrong with the polish- and he said no. Said "we did the service, stay and we'll do it again." My wife could not stay for a 3rd hour and his response was "that's your fault you don't have time, I have time, it's your fault." Literally blaming my wife. She ended up paying over $80. AND found out the person who did her toes DOES not have a license yet. read more
