First I just want make something clear, I love Qdoba. This is a review for my most recent experience only. This visit was unlike most, as I was extremely hungover on a work day. I ask for a bowl, loaded to the brim. The guy making the bowl wasn't the reg. He was quite careless in the art of bowl making. Just the way he scooped the beans made my stomach curdle. Probably just the hangover, but regardless, that's on him. I sat down to eat and could not get over the music that was playing. It wasn't the regular Beiber marathon that they normally pump out, but full fledged Mexican music. I know, I was at a Mexican restaurant, I get it. But, a women screeching in a language I can't understand while being hungover, not ideal. This all could have been avoided if I didn't stay up watching the Celtics with a bottle of brandy stuck to my hand. Credit me for admitting that, but a restaurant should be prepared for all types of customers. All in all, I love Qdoba. Hopefully my next experience will be less hungovery with more Beiber in my ears. I love the food and staff here and come about once a month (give of take). I am writing my review because of one particular visit I had this week. It was in the middle of the snow storm and many people were griping about being out, having to work, the lack of plowing etc. etc. I walked into Qdoba and received smiles from all the staff there. They were fully staffed, professional and efficient. I ordered 12 tacos for a group. That amount of tacos is sort of unexpected. They could have told me to take a hike (or at least made me feel that way), but they were super accommodating. Three of them teamed up to make it happen and I was in and and out in about 10 minutes and they were also working on other people's orders. The food was awesome as always, it was prepared efficiently and with care (had to make some modifications). They were awesome. One of the guys even offered to label them all for me! I work in the food industry so it pains me to write this type of review but here it goes. First time to the Braintree location and one word: horrendous. Didn't have steak for our burritos so we got chicken, which they were clearly running very low on yet still made two burritos with what little they had. The other ingredients that were out did not look fresh also. The only reason we didn't walk out was because one of the two men behind the counter was extremely friendly. When we went to sit down there were no clean tables. The place was filthy. The trash was also overflowing. Safe to say my burrito was not edible. Don't stay open until 10pm if you aren't going to keep freshly stocked ingredients even up until 9pm when we were there. read more

This place was awesome when it opened. The employees were great, I remember they were very friendly, could speak English, and made great burritos. The service has gone downhill big time. The last time I went in, it was slow, no one in line. The two employees behind the counter were having a deep conversation and couldn't be bothered with having to actually do their job. The woman kept glancing at me, but continued to ignore. I was standing there for 5 minutes before I finally got pissed and said something. She then made the skimpiest burrito ever. No thanks....if I'm spending 10 bucks on a burrito it better be good. Unfortunately you see this a lot with these chains, they're great at first, but then go downhill fast. read more

I don't go here often and typically don't bitch about my fast found experience since you get what you pay for but this place is a little pricey and stingy on food portions. The staff was very pleasant. The food average at best. I got some tacos with my burrito and I have to say I propped them up on an angle on the dish and just let the grease from the meat run out for a while before attempting to eat them and regret it later. The burrito was ok usual stuffed with rice and add ins light on meat or poultry. He taco shells were very stale and an unpleasant experience. I don't know if they were left out from the night before I was there at noon and expected a little more freshness. The cookie for desert was the best part of the meal. Couldn't wait to get out of there with the family two booths behind With two ungodly loud obnoxious uncontrolled brats. Generally I've always been a big fan of Qdoba and was really happy to see one open here. We order here a lot for work lunches and have always been pleased with ease of ordering, food and price. The last two times left me Really questioning if I'll return as often. We ordered 5 meals this last week for a lunch meeting and when my coworker arrived to get the food to pickup, she said the person at register was confused, rude and short. They said to the customer in front of her "sorry, I don't know how to do what you're talking about so...." and just looked at the person. Get our order and one quesadilla has not a single topping on it that was requested. Plain meat and cheese, thanks for the dryness! The time before this I decided to try the tacos which were dryer than anything I've ever tried. I requested NO guacamole and still got guacamole on 2 out of 3 tacos, I'm allergic. There is no where to place an allergy request on the ordering page online so maybe I could've called ahead; but clearly my capital request of NO GUACAMOLE wasn't enough for them to follow. So if you want to get food in a reasonable amount of time I would suggest talking the extra time to go the well known Mexican chain in the mall across the street. Stopped in many times before and it was decent but not tonight. After craving a certain dish( burrito bowl with half chicken half steak) ALL EVENING...I make the order and the server says "we are no longer allowed to serve half chicken and half steak". His reasoning was "it messes with the inventory". o_O. Obviously you have the ingredients staring me in the face...but As a customer I can't have what I want because of "chicken inventory"??!!Give me a break. I wanted to walk out but settled on the steak alone instead. It was ok, but not what I wanted. Chipotle in the mall across the street would have given me what I wanted... but I left there first because there were literally about 29 people in line ahead of me there. Now I know why. Qdoba's beans tasted pretty darn cold and I don't know if it is a coincidence, but something in that bowl likely messed my stomach up. (I kid you not, I'm typing this from my bathroom right now) :-(. By far one of the worst customer services I had ever received from a qdoba restaurant. The guy assembling our food was by far rude for no apparent reason. Don't go an hour before they close or you won't get steak. My buddy and I came here at 8:50pm. I asked if they had steak and Nicole very rudely responded with "nope that's what happens when you show up 30 minutes before we close" I responded with "oh shoot I'm sorry, I thought you closed at 10 its only 8:53 isn't it?" And she then continued to say "well then an hour". I asked if they had veggies and nope they didn't have those either. I then asked for cheese because at this point I was a little irritated and made a remark of "if you don't have cheese I'm walking out" and she responded with "that wouldn't be a problem!" I'm sorry but this is not how you should treat people. Good luck with your business. I didn't even care that you were out of steak and veggies, it is how your team member responded and rudely treated us. I gave it 2 stars because the food was actually good and your location was clean. This is my third review on yelp and yours is the only bad one I've ever made. read more

Good food but the horrible customer service makes this place last on my list. Went there today during a slow time and ordered a burrito bowl. The line (which consisted of myself and a friend) was being served by two separate people- one serving rice, beans, and meat and the other serving toppings. The man serving the toppings (who I later noticed is the GENERAL MANAGER) was not paying attention while my friend and I ordered the first part of our burrito bowls. As soon as he got his hands on them, he began scooping tomatoes into them without even asking what we wanted on our bowls. After kindly letting him know that neither of us wanted tomatoes, he rudely told us that we "should've specified." However, it's in his job description to ASK the customer what they want, not expect that they would know to "specify" when you start throwing random toppings on the meal without asking. As a GENERAL MANAGER, you'd think he would be concerned about the general satisfaction and safety of the customer. Those with food allergies might want to avoid this store because this guy obviously isn't too concerned about what the customer wants. After remaking our two bowls (which shouldn't have been too tough considering we only had rice and meat in them at that point) he condescendingly made it a point to ask us what we wanted. I'm not sure what type of establishment gets off on belittling their paying customers but it was without a doubt the worst customer service I've ever seen/received. I work in the food service industry and I completely understand not being in the mood to serve people. However, if I'M the one who makes a mistake, I usually make it a point to apologize to the customer and offer to fix it, not yell at them for "not being specific." If you're so miserable about being the GM of a Q'Doba and dealing with the general public, maybe you should consider an office job. Ridiculous. read more
