Yesterday (June 7), I bought sushi around 10:00 a.m., and my family and I got food poisoning after eating it. They call it "fresh sushi," but it seemed like they may have sold us leftovers from the previous day. I called the store manager around 5:00 p.m. after we had gone through the food poisoning. The manager's only response was, "OK." There was no apology or expression of concern. I was very disappointed by how the manager handled the situation. I used to like QFC, but after this experience, I will never come back again. So sad. read more

This grocery store is the WORST ON so many levels. First and foremost the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced . The staff at checkout is lazy beyond belief. They act like you are putting them out when you ask about locating a product, no personal communication skills. I asked to have the lid on container of soup be taped down so it would spill in my car. "Don't have any" he said. I asked could you ask next checker or customer service? No, we don't do that. I spoke up and asked the checker in next isle if they had any tape, sure enough they came up with some. The personnel is the worst in most departments (especially the male employees(. You should have your employees trained by Trader Joe's. At Trader Joe's the employees act like they are glad you are there, happy to help and greet you with a smile and kind attention. read more

Today is 12/7/2025 (Sunday) - TWO AND A HALF WEEKS BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. I had the misfortune of shopping at this store in the early afternoon. I spent way too much time trying to find items that my husband had requested, filling my basket as I spent at least 1 hour wandering around looking for obscure items. (BTW, don't expect things they had in the past, like an olive bar - it is gone. And they still carry Boar's Head in major quantities and I will not buy from this company anymore.) Once I finished in produce, I proceeded to look for a cashier. EVERY SINGLE CASHIER WAS CLOSED. ONLY THE SELF CHECKOUT WAS AVAILABLE. It was after 2 pm and EVERY SINGLE CHECKER HAD CLOSED THEIR AISLE! WHAT THE HELL?! I had to run down and up an aisle just to get into the line before everyone else discovered the problem. THIS STORE WAS BUSY DURING THE ENTIRE 1.5 HOURS I WAS THERE, BUT MANAGEMENT AND CASHIERS APPEARED TO HAVE VANISHED. THERE WAS THE ONE CASHIER THAT WAS HAD JUST CLOSED HER AISLE, BUT SHE WAS NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE SITUATION. PEOPLE WERE STILL TRYING TO LINE UP WITH THEIR BASKETS FILLED. EVERY STAFF MEMBER WAS CLUELESS. It took me at least 15 mins to checkout since I was not familiar with their system. Then I discovered the sh!tty bags - every time I tried to put any weight in the bag, the handle broke. Double-bagging worked barely. I will never go to this store again. If I need something from QFC, I will go to the Barnes location. At least they have intelligent staff, and far superior layout. read more

The stores in the higher end parts of town, especially the ones that charge excessive money for things, have some of the worst service imaginable. My favorite are the staff who get into your face insisting to help you and every answer is that they don't know anything or how to find out but then keep saying things like did I help you? This store really leveled up on the "WE ARE NOT HERE TO HELP YOU" though. Usually the high end stores have one single ADA scooter and I need to learn to just not bother since it is always broken. Shop here so that they can mark up anything you buy double any other store (I dread when I have to shop things for other people at stores like this). It is VERY clear that they do not want my disabled kind having the nerve to come here - but I am sorry I cannot afford to buy my own grocery store motorized cart. I will share my "journey" with you... Their cart is parked in between two moveable display things. I mean moveable, as in these are unnecessary to be where they chose to put them but why wouldn't you put them to surround and blockade your ADA cart so that you can say you are providing it but no one should have the nerve to use it. Most ADA people are already exhausted and just walk on in giving up so they are not subjected to what I stupidly decided to embark on. It is plugged into the wall behind another machine (I have photos attached and in the picture is when I left it but if you look at the wall you can see the outlet where it was plugged in to know the mess at the location they expect a disabled person to launch themselves to get the ONE MOTORIZED CART THEY ARE KIND ENOUGH TO PROVIDE BECAUSE THEY CARE). You, the disabled person, have to stretch behind the entire thing to unplug it to use it. I am halfway through near falling behind it (for my THIRD attempt at this maneuver) when someone from the store FINALLY comes over saying something almost an accusatory. I commented that I was not sure how to get the plug out because after three tries I did not want to just grab it like a rope. She then starts saying all the reasons they have to plug it in like I don't know how a battery works. I do love it when people treat me like I am ruining their day by being disabled though - so fun when I genuinely wish I didn't need to be mindful of my feet. Having detached tendons means less cushion on the bottom of my feet so standing long period on hard floors can lead to a world of pain and bruising later. After the lecture on how batteries and energy works... imagine my delight after scooting to the other end of the produce section (which was the section where the scooter was), it starts beeping loudly to let me know that the battery was about to die. So I drove it right back so grateful that I spent a solid ten minutes "chatting" with the person from the store to get to use the one single cart that they provide so that us disabled folks can pretend to be normal and grocery shop. I grabbed a cart and did discover some gorgeous flowers which I hung out with for some time to give my right side a break. They had some very well priced lilies. Too bad you can't eat those since you will pay far less than just about any grocery item you will buy there. I chose to use the self check since I had really enough of the customer service and loved that the person who "greeted" me on my first time even to come into this store basically stood by glaring me down without another word to me, not even a exit greeting...middle finger...nothing... And I thought we had something. I was in an ADA spot and to make it just perfect - their delivery truck blocked me in when I was one of two cars in the lot... At that point I really wondered if I was on a sitcom and no one gave me the heads up. But if you have the money to pay people to shop for you at stores with substantial markup, please tip well for the hazard and abuse pay. read more

This is my favorite QFC in the Portland area! Just wish it was closer to my house as it would be my primary grocery store, along with Trader Joe's. When I moved to Portland in 2000, I had never heard of QFC or Fred Meyer. There was a QFC on NE 33rd, walking distance from my home, and I shopped there several days a week. People say the prices are high, and for some items it is, but for others it's competitive and I find the quality higher. When I moved downtown, I no longer have a QFC close by; I have to drive several miles to get to any of the locations - E Burnside, SE Milwaukee, NW Barnes or Bethany. IMHO, the Bethany location is by far the best! The produce is gorgeous, high quality, and lots of organic in abundance, too. They also have lots of delicious cheese and baked goods. Well stocked wine and hard cider area. Easy to find items in dairy area. The store is clean, well organized, always well stocked. I never find food past it's expiration date. I'm shocked at the 1 and 2 star reviews. Try living downtown with the closest grocery store being the UnSafeway on SW Jefferson, you would then give this QFC 10 stars! To enter a store without having to step over street people, to find everything clean, neatly organized and well stocked - it's a "you are not in Kansas anymore moment" for this City Girl. Wish the store was closer; it's not practical for my weekly shopping but if I am ever in this area visiting friends, for appointments or running errands, I make a specific stop here to do my grocery shopping. We didn't get the groceries we paid for since Nick, the night crew manager running the store at night, tried to start a physical fight with my partner and I as we were leaving. Now I should have called 911 and got the groceries I paid for immediately, but I knew the store managers to some degree and expected them to handle it competently. The next morning, I went into the store and talked to Alex, the assistant store manager and Sahit from HR, got my groceries, and expected them to reprimand the employee for being violent and an obvious liability. They seemed receptive at the time. A few days later, Danielle the store manager with her massive brain concluded that Nick did nothing wrong, now me personally, I think customers should be able to walk out the store with the things they pay for. To say I was surprised at what she said be an understatement, this is the store manager. It happened underneath multiple security cameras and Dannielle got the whole Cinemax experience of her employee attempting a fight from any angle she wanted. We shopped and checked out maybe another 30 something times, no problems, friendly conversations with cashiers. One night, and then low and behold, I hear Nick screaming an aisle away for my partner to come and catch him after work for a fight. Now for bonus points, Nick after walking away and trying to schedule a fight, called the cops and I see them after making my purchase leaving the store. He's sobbing to the police about me, actual tears, mind you I haven't said anything mean to him or done anything besides shop at this store. We were cuffed, then uncuffed, and got an apology from the store manager's boss, Chad the district manager, a week later. Oh boy, if only there was someone who warned store management about a bad employee, what if store managers actually managed their store, last I heard he still didn't get reprimanded ( I could not tell why they simp so hard for this employee, I know other employees that were terminated here for much less ). I guess getting cuffed without warning and not getting groceries you pay for is defacto night crew customer service This happened a while ago but, since Nick's friend ( another night crew worker here or former ), has been wishing death on my partner through texts and sending homophobic slurs. I thought hey maybe people should know about the great managers here, their friends, and please don't give your number to these psychos even if they seem normal enough Now the actual store itself is fine, it gets plenty of revenue for its good location and good service from daytime cashiers, courtesy clerks, dairy clerks, and deli clerks. The actual properly functioning staff unlike its store management or night crew, is good. One of the few places open up late ( obviously don't recommend night time shopping here and the night crew employees aren't any better then the crack heads that show up late at night there ) If an incident happens immediately get a lawyer and request security footage because they don't want to be liable for any mishaps. Trust me they have those cameras everywhere, if something happens it's probably on it, wether they wanna give it to you or not. Don't hesitate to report crimes, go to the nearby sheriff department a street away or call 911 read more

QFC is determined to make grocery shopping as difficult as can be. You need to get out your iphone to take photos of digital coupons and keep a count in your head of how many mix/match items in your cart to get to 5 or 10 total. Doing this with a kid in the cart, while trying to menu plan in your head, or after a long day at work makes this particularly enjoyable. Would it be so crazy to just post a price for each item and leave it at that? The people here at Bethany QFC are great; it's corporate who thinks customers welcome complicated grocery shopping. read more

When I first moved to Oregon (Eugene) I had no idea what QFC stood for. I thought maybe it was Quick! Find Chocolate! So I did that. You know. Follow instructions and all. I'm a good girl. Do what I'm told. Well, mostly. After I'd been here a while and changed up my addiction patterns ( ie met my nemesis and new bestie, the espresso bean), that morphed into: Quick! Find Coffee! Which I have done too. I buy dark Italian Roast beans and grind at home. When I moved to Portland, there it was again. Only it was: Quick! Feed Child! I kept moving to places where qfc was the nearest -ish store. In Tabor it was the one on Burnside, then.we moved close to the one in Sellwood, now I am just a few blocks away in Bethany. It tends to be more expensive than say, Winco. With less stuff than a Safeway. But I like it Better than Albertsons. I've never really been near a Thriftway to check that out. They're a Kroger underling and so have a rewards card ( mine is on my keyring) for discounts and earning points that translate to money off gas. I didn't used to care but now I do. What do we buy here? Organic milk and cream, gala apples, organic eggs, ice cream, cheese pretzels, birthday cupcakes on the cheap, quick runs for lettuce or the mini whole wheat bagels my kid eats every day. There is a decent selection of beer and wine. This one has a Starbucks and a liquor store inside. Parking is usually fine but not between 5-7pm.Just don't try that. I'm serious as a heart attack. I like the cashiers here they're friendly, the bakery lady is really nice, and I'm happy they have u scan or when you run your cart to the regular line they unload it. If I didn't have to avoid my ex boyfriend predating my marriage or kid's nasty former teacher it'd be nearly perfect. I try to go on off hours. Theyre open pretty early and late so that works out fine. read more

This was my first time in a long while shopping at QFC. I was at Fred Meyer trying to put in an order for a sale item they were out of. After being directed to 4 different people, they told me they cannot take orders. I remember a friend telling me QFC had done an order for them and kept the sale price so I called. I was transferred once to a manager who said no problem and took my order over the phone. He said it might be a couple days but they would call back. Sure enough in three days they called back saying it was ready to pickup. I went to the store and was once again promptly directed to the manager on duty. He knew where my order was, got it and helped me check out. Everyone involved with this was super friendly. Even though both QFC and Fred Meyer are owned by Kroger, the care/knowledge level of QFC is night and day! I may have just found my new favorite grocery store! read more

The customer service has gone down here every year. I moved here 10 years ago and I usually shopped at Albertson's. I switched to QFC because of the great customer service. I have a few incidents that just made me go somewhere else. A few weeks ago a cashier named Chase was condescending and rude to me. I asked if he was still open, he looked up at the light and said "the light is on". I only asked because there was a register open next to him with the light on and there was nobody there. A few months ago an older heavy set, short lady with long gray hair was also condescending and rude. Since I shop here all the time, you guys send me coupons in the mail. I went to redeem them and handed them to her and she responded with "all of these?", I said "yes" and she proceeded to say "okay, we'll see what happens" very rudely. Then seem upset that she has to input them. I shop here for the great customer service but that seems to be no longer the case. I can shop at Winco's for the same or better customer service with much lower prices. For excellent customer service I can go back to Albertson's or go to Safeway. I will no longer shop here which is a shame because you guys are about 2-3 blocks away. Your customer service is horrible! read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to Lorenzo and Sierra today. I had a huge order, and a baby. Lorenzo was great with my son, (my son loved him) and was super kind and patient with us. In December 2015, the FDA wrote a letter to Sun Pharmaceutical: "Your quality system does not ensure the quality, safety, and effectiveness of your drug products." When I asked the pharmacist if he would give Sun Pharmaceuticals to his family, he simply didn't respond.One might conclude that next quarter's profit is more important than patient safety. read more

The only knock on QFC is that it has higher prices then most grocery stores. Although, there are times where you can find a great deal on things you need. The QFC store has a liquor store inside it and it's pretty fancy and you can find really good wines in their wine department. The store is very clean has 4 u-scan areas so you can bag your own groceries. The store also updated it's look and rearranged where some things are which made it even more organized. The most important thing it's very close to where I live and it also has a Starbucks built inside of it. read more

QFC is the only grocery in Bethany Village, so I find myself here at times when I am in that neighborhood. It's OK, but it's not up to the level of New Seasons. Pros: Fresh produce Good meats Excellent wine selection Bright aisles Decent prices on most things Cons: Selections are limited Lack of local products Lack of specialty products Poorly configured check-outs (nowhere to put your goods) Parking can be tough Aisles can be hard to navigate with all the cell-phone users and Soccer Mom's with uncontrolled kids I definitely prefer the local products and food stations of New Seasons and the prices at Albertsons or Costco are usually better for ubiquitous items. However, for convenience in the Bethany Village area, QFC is better than expected. read more

got good bargains. Beware of their bakery.. if you're ordering a character birthday cake on the smallest size (6-inch?). Ours came with a solid plastic plate on the top to put the characters (and some chocolate deco) on, so no room for candles! We ended up sticking the candles on the side. not sure if it's true for all character cakes but you'd want to double-check if you are ordering one. read more

The produce at QFC is consistently high quality. I love that they put out free fruit for your child while shopping. The liquor store inside is convenient and well-stocked. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Only things that could make it better are faster lines/more staff at checkout and if the prices were a bit lower. read more

I am new to the area and decided to check out this QFC store to see if it is a good regular weekly grocery stop. The sales flyer featured a couple of good deals... so it looked positive. The merits: attached liquor store (convenient - since we needed a bottle of rum!) Lots of microbrews and a good wine selection. The downside: the smell. I can't stand a smelly grocery store! This one smelled like fish and rotting meat. Another downside: The sale items were either our of stock or limited variety - for example sliced tillamook cheeses were 2 for $4.00 - but there was only sharp cheddar and mild cheddar to choose from. I don't think I'll be shopping here again. My regular staple groceries (I did not buy any meats or cleaning products) came out to more than I usually spend at Fred Meyer. read more

If you like to get good fresh produce and meat without paying an arm and a leg ... But do not get to make it to farmers market on weekends nor do you like to navigate thru the massive Fred Meyers then QFC is your next best bet. I consistently surprised by their produce section as well as their meat and seafood section. It always seems so well stocked for such a small store. On top of all that , they carry local dairy and produce so you can always by local here. Unless I need to buy a certain brand of Bagels that they just doesn't carry, I make this store my go to spot for buying groceries week to week . read more

I really like this QFC because they have great deals on items that I actually shop for. This week they had Tilamook Ice Cream for 2.86 and Winco had it for 3.50 or something like that. Last week they had Ahi Tuna on Special. Before I found out about the special I went to Safeway, Winco, and Whole Foods, and none of them even had Ahi at all. It is also a plus to have the liqour store inside the grocery store. They also have a nice selection of wines in their back wine cellar, as well as cold beer selection. The produce is fresh, and while some items are more expensive than other places, I always come here when I see the deals in the paper. Also, its in a great location next to a bunch of neighborhoods in a nice area. I also like the other restaurants and shops in the same shopping center so I can take care of several things at the same time. Bliss Cupcakes is right across the parking lot, and I can't help but go there after getting my groceries at QFC. Finally, I wanted to mention that I just moved here to Beaverton area, and when I asked to get a QFC card the cashier was super nice, asked if we had a number of other company's cards which I guess are the same as a QFC card. I didn't have one, so he gave me a form to fill out and bring next time. When I left he said welcome to the neighborhood. That really made me feel welcome, and I'm so glad to be living in such a nice area. read more

Just went into this store to pick up a few things. Cassie the clerk at register was a doll and was only asking for a code check in coconut shaving that we forgot to write down. An older lady came over with a red vest yelling about how the code should be in her booklet. The older lady then went to the other register to help pack bags instead of getting the coconut shaving code like Cassie needed. Instead me the customer ran over to dry goods and got her the code. Needless to say, I was shocked at how rude this woman was to not only a fellow employee but to customers as well. read more

This review is for QFC in Bethany, but first I want to give out a shout out to Market of Choice. They always make you feel welcome by greeting you when you walk in, and it is actually an enjoyable experience shopping there. This is about 3 miles away, and where I usually do my shopping. However, yesterday about 8:30 pm, I needed a few groceries so decided to try QFC. The meat department was closed and everything behind the counter had been pulled, making it feel much later than it actually was! The employees that were there made no eye contact, no smiles, nothing. I went to check out and there were no checkers. It was all self check; the person who was there at the self check counter made no eye contact and was just looking at her phone. Once I was done checking myself out, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I've had this experience before many times at this QFC over the years, but I thought I would give it another shot. Their customer service has not changed at all. Won't be going back there any time soon. They need to take some customer service pointers from MOC. read more

I love how small this is, I don't want a one stop shop but it happens to have everything like auto and gardening, etc. I want to get in and get out with just my groceries. It may not have the selection that Fred Meyers offers but I enjoy doing my weekly grocery shopping here. The Fred Meyers rewards card works here too and it takes the price down on most items - you essentially get your rebate up front instead of in the mail. I also get gas rewards for Fred Meyers with each purchase. Staff is very friendly too. Love it! read more

Ok, normally I love this store, it's right by the bus stop and walking distance to home. I get 3 items, get in a checker's line, 2 people in front of me. Then the checker puts up the lane closed sign and I tell a guy trying to get behind me, the guy is trying to close the line, to help him out. A young woman comes, grabs my cart says she will help me at the next one over. Register is locked, says nothing to me, takes off, a minute goes by. The manager comes, try's to unlock, can't takes my cart to the original line I was in that is now closed. He fiddled wither the key to unlock, says nothing else to me, splits and I think, ok, that little chick is coming back to check my stuff in the original line I was sent back to. She says nothing to me, goes back to the other line that I was sent over to to begin with, then two blonde chicks just happen into that line. All the while I'm ignored. I say, Hey! You got to be effing kidding me!?! Don't you remember I was next?!?! Not a effing I'm sorry, not an effing word to me. She just starts checking the blonde chicks. I feel I'm being generous giving 3 stars considering how pissed I am. I don't care how effing busy you are, I'm a regular customer, don't ignore me and treat me like that! I should give 1 star but this is the first time they dropped the ball on me. If they ever drop the ball a 2nd time, there will never be a 3rd because I'll never go back! read more
