What a find! Located off the beaten path, don't let the location scare you off. Smart that the owner figured out how to repurpose a cafeteria that is not in use. I was drawn to try Qilin dumplings since they seemed so authentic. Yes, they definitely are! Opened for lunch only, this is a pick up/take out place but there is cafeteria style seating if you want to eat in. I ordered online which worked out well. Ordered a large selection of dumplings, fried rice, and more. My mom was so happy with the dumplings she keeps asking to go back! Definitely will be back. read more

It's situated in a bussiness building but they have a sign outside of building so once you get in , it's easy enough to find the restaurant. They were very friendly and they even offered to have a coffee or water while waiting. The food were good. Definitely tastes like homemade. But I am probably not used to Taiwanese foods and it has a unique flavors that are different from Japanese or Korean dumplings that I usually have. At least It was a worth a try. read more

This review is based off of the food I tried at their stall at the Kerrytown Asian Night Market hosted by Marupo. They had one of the LONGEST lines (I sweated so much waiting in the hot sun)!! Their shredded chicken noodles were suuuper spicy! A little too oily for me too. But their dumplings were really good! It is a bit dough-y but I like that kind of flavor. Had these at a market fair and was super impressed. I had been wanting to try this place but it not local for me. When I seen them at the market fair I was so excited! The Berkshire pork and onions was my favorite. It had a good amount of filling in it and it read fresh. The dumplings are freshly made as well. They were nice in size. I will have to visit their location to order more from them. Definitely want to be a repeat customer. read more

Absolutely great! I had the Taiwanese braised pork rice and beef & onion dumplings. Both were great, and I easily got two meals out of my order. The dumplings tasted homemade and very fresh. The pork was tender and flavorful. The pork, bok choy, and rice had a great texture. Tucked into an office building between the highway and train tracks, and only open weekdays for lunch. I work nearby and ordered carryout online before running a couple of errands. Food was fresh, hot, and well packed. It's located in the cafeteria of an office building, so they have tables to eat at including a nice outdoor area. I'll definitely be going back. read more

So, so good. All things considered, it's actually in a great location. It's situated at the cafeteria of an office building. The signs leading to the restaurant are kind of small, but still not too hard to find. Their hours are during the weekdays from 11am to 3pm, essentially workday lunch hours, which is great for the owners, even though it's a small menu and short hours, you have a target audience. Genius. As far as the food, I had the braised beef noodle soup and some shrimp triple delight dumplings. The beef was tender, the soup was delicious, the noodles were cooked correctly, and the steamed dumplings were excellent as well. I went with the shrimp triple delight dumplings and definitely had no regrets. I intend on trying the Taiwanese braised pork rice next time, which should be very soon, since I work 5 minutes away. read more

First time here and not too impressed. It is in a cafeteria of a business in a local industrial park. Large glass windows along the west wall with a view that will be more beautiful in the spring and summer. Tables were clean but there were trays of dirty dishes on the counter tops on east wall. You order at cashier and wait for your alarm to go off then pick up food further down line in kitchen. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Chicken Fried rice, and Taiwanese Braised Pork rice. Crab Rangoon was very good. Very crispy with plenty of filling. Taiwanese pork and Chicken Fried rice were less than stellar. Very little flavor. Servings were rather large but just missing something. I think we intend to go back and order some dumplings and the beef soup. Hoping they will be worth the second trip. read more

This place was one of those bizarre experiences I've been thinking about since. It was in a medium-sized office building. It was just me, my kids, and a handful of people eating their packed lunches. I think one other person ordered food the entire lunchtime we were there. We had to walk past a security desk and down a hallways past conference rooms to get to the cafeteria counter where Qilin is located. It felt kind of like we were intruding - almost like we had walked into someone else's living room. But we got crab rangoon and lotus chicken appetizers - both were FIRE! I wished for another order. We got the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, three orders of different dumplings, and some Boba tea. I would place the food on par with some of my other southeast Michigan favorites - Yee Siang, Kungfu Bros - the dumplings were phenomenal. I will be back - I wish the place was in its own storefront that was a bit less awkward / inconvenient to visit, but good food is good food, and the service was quite pleasant, so I'm hoping for success for them. read more

Everything I've had has been phenomenal. Cold sesame noodles are a huge, delicious portion - easily split or yummy leftovers. The dumplings...le sigh...sooo good. I've tried the ones with shrimp and just plain pork, and loved both. Strange location, but once you figure it out the first time you're good for every repeat visit. read more

Would love if Yelp gave me half stars, so assume I gave this place 4.5 stars. This place is tucked away inside of an industrial/office park, so I don't think anyone's going to wander in here unexpectedly. But looking for an out of the way place like this is certainly worth it! For now, their menu is pretty small, but I appreciate that they're doing a few things well before expanding their offerings. We ordered the cold sesame noodles, shrimp and pork dumplings, and boba, and they were all perfectly tasty and authentic. (Though I wish that the boba tea had a smidge more tapioca.) The restaurant itself is situated in a casual cafeteria setting, but the employee working was wonderfully friendly and helpful. We ordered ahead for pick-up, and it was super easy to place our order. Overall, it was a great experience with great food. We'll definitely be back and look forward to when they're able to expand their offerings. (Maybe some hot noodle dishes!) read more

This is not a sit down restaurant, it's in the cafeteria area of an office building. As others have mentioned, you place your order at the cashier and get a beeper to tell you to pick up your food at the counter. As with most cafeterias there were clean tables and dirty tables. I had shrimp triple delight dumplings that were good but not amazing. I've had equivalent quality dumplings from Costco and local Ann Arbor oriental markets. At $12.99 for 12 half dollar size dumplings I expected more. I left wondering why anyone that didn't work in the building would eat there more than once. read more

This place was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered--from pastry pockets to cuke salad to spicy sour noodles to tri shrimp dumplings were amazing. It's in an tech building and there is no outdoor signage, but once you get inside there are welcoming signs. Order at the front, get a buzzer, pick up and savor every bite. I haven't seen others mention the outdoor veranda but it was a delight to eat there. But truthfully, I would happily eat in the nondescript cafeteria if that was my only choice. From today's sampling I suspect there's not a dud dish on the menu. And I intend to return to see! read more
