I give this place 2.5 stars. they are accommodating if you want to try multiple flavors or have half steamed and half fried as long as you set willing to pay the upcharge ($1.50) I tried the mystery dumplings, and specifically asked if they could remove the lamb as I don't eat lamb. Waitress said no problem. My dumplings came and 4 out of 15 dumplings were lamb. This left me so disappointed with my meal. The other dumplings were ok. I got one seafood, 2 curry, 2 chicken w corn, and a mix of other chicken and pork. The rest of the family were not impressed with their orders of steam and fried dumplings but it held us over as a quick lunch.
Dumplings are my ultimate comfort food! I just love those little dough balls of deliciousness! So after much walking through Old Montreal, we needed something quick on our walk back to our hotel without having to wait for a full wine and dine experience. The cute dumpling pictures on the window and outside sign caught our eye and drew us in. We were immediately seated despite a growing crowd at 5:30 pm. After being seated for only about 5 minutes, a server asked us if we would mind moving to accommodate a large party. We didn't mind and in appreciation, our server brought us some of their homemade pickles with a sesame sauce as a thank you! They were so refreshing and the perfect compliment to the somewhat heavy little dumplings. We had an order of steamed pork and cabbage dumplings and an order of chicken curry fried dumplings. Both were delicious. Although I do think the fries were a bit tastier but isn't that always the case with fried? Be forewarned that each serving contains 15 dumplings! That's a lot of love to go around! We left very satisfied!!
I really liked Qing Hua. Affordable and tasty. Good for our little group and we didn't wait long on a Saturday around 8pm. As much as we loved the steamed dumplings, we also thought our apps stole the show. The peanut noodles and spring rolls were delish. The steamed dumplings far outshined the fried dumplings in my opinion. I will say these were more like traditional filled dumplings than the soup dumplings I've had the past as there wasn't broth inside. China town in Montreal is bustling so def stop be Qing Hua or any neighboring restaurants to explore again!

I've honestly not seen so many filling options even in the SF bay area. I ordered pork with cilantro, pork with onion and lamb with cilantro. The food came out in about 15min and we took 2 steamed and 1 fried. Strange, they don't boil them. Each portion is 15 dumplings for about 12cad, which is super cheap (considering the exchange rate) The dumplings were great, the outside was thin and ripe and the inside has the juice (benefit of not boiling). Great place overall, not sure why we were the only Asian people in there, but glad to see locals enjoying Chinese food.

Service is very smart with less worker but super clever waiter. Portion of food is pretty big so after we have soup and salad we start to fill up and have little room for dumpling.
THIS PLACE SERVES MOSTLY DIMSUM varieties on their menu. I guess place is famous, people lined up during peak hours while we were dining. They have a high chair. Space is tight. Spacing between tables are close. No parking, find a parking area yourself. Serving time is fair but servers looks like have a communication problem so you need to clarify first your order to avoid any headache. We arrived after 9pm to our hotel nearby and discovered that the kitchen was closed at many nearby restaurants. We luckily caught this place before the kitchen closed, and we are so glad we did! We tried pork and green onion pan fried and chicken and coriander and chicken and cabbage steamed and all were delicious. Fresh, juicy, and really well priced. We're here for a week and my kids are already asking if we can eat there again!
Unfortunately rain crashed my last day of vacation in Montréal. After visiting the Biodome and freezing in the Uber, this was within walking of the hotel for lunch. I tried the chicken curry dumplings, hot and sour soup, and marinated cucumbers. Everything was so warming to the soul. Lovely meal.
Walking through Chinatown can be overwhelming because there's so many options on where to eat. So with a craving for dumplings we searched and stoped in at Quing Hua. The staff was friendly and greeted us right away and had us seated. The inside of the restaurant was clean and all safety measures were taken to ensure we would be able to eat our meal safely and comfortably. The menu has quite a few options regardless of your preference in proteins. For 1$ more you can get 2 kinds instead of having to settle for 1 filling. We ended up trying dill and chicken, cabbage and veggies and mushrooms. The dumplings were steamed to perfection and tasted amazing. We also got the marinated cucumbers and these were a game changer so refreshing and lights and tangy and sweet! It's a must try on your next visit here.
After a great night at Comiccon 4 friends and myself decided to grab something to eat as we were starving and you can't go wrong with dumplings. There was about a 7 minutes wait which flew by as we were all chatting. After we sat down it did take sometime to get the menus and water but the place is super busy so understandable. I started off with a beer some peanut butter dumplings and than we shared a million dumplings (5x15 plates of dumplings) lol I enjoyed the peanut butter dumplings has a tad bit of spice but nothing you can't handle. The tofu and shrimp dumplings were great and I would never usually order that but they were delicious. Shrimp and pork were fantastic as well. We ended up spending a few hours there laughing and sharing stories and stuffing our faces and of course still had 15 dumplings left over to take home. If you haven't been you gotta try it :)
They have lots of vegetarian (and vegan) options for their dumplings, so I gave them a shot for lunch. I ordered a cucumber salad ($5.99 plus tax) to start, and then some steamed dumplings ($12.99 plus tax) -- you can split your order into 2 kinds of dumplings for $0.50 extra. I got the tofu & vegetables, and cabbage, mushroom and vermicelli ones. The cucumbers came out within a few minutes. Not exactly authentic Szechuan cucumbers, as they should be spicier and have other ingredients (e.g., cilantro). Still tasty, but not worth the money for something so simple I can easily whip up at home. 3/5 The dumplings, however, were really good, and came out in under 10 minutes. They serve them in the container they steam them in, so they're super fresh. Both varieties I tried were tasty, especially the cabbage one. For sauce, they have a delectable homemade chili oil, as well as soy sauce and vinegar. This served as a nice dipping sauce for the dumplings. Very tasty. A tad pricy compared to other dumpling spots in Chinatown, but I appreciate their vegetarian / vegan options. Very friendly, caring service. Great dumpling spot. Recommended.
My husband doesn't ask for much when we travel but every once in a while he will suggest a dinner idea or restaurant he would like to go to. His choice was Qing Hua for some dumplings. The restaurant is pretty big and bright but the tables are very close together. We felt like we were dining with the table next to us, and believe me when I tell you, they were not pleased. Service was friendly and the food was pretty good. My husband likes steamed dumplings while I like mine fried. We got both to try. I'm not sure if we would make a special trip back as we have had better dumplings. read more
We came to Montreal, Quebec, specifically to try the dim sum, and I have to say, even as someone who lives in Los Angeles with access to some great dim sum, this place really impressed me! The dim sum here is top-notch, and the highlight of the meal was definitely the peanut sauce dim sum and the cold peanut noodles. I've never had anything like them--they were so delicious, refreshing, and savory. I would come back a thousand times just for those! The tea was also a great deal--only $3.50 Canadian for a huge pot, which was perfect for sharing. It was a cold day, so the warm tea paired really well with the cold noodles. Overall, this spot is incredibly affordable and serves amazing food. I would absolutely return next time I'm in town! read more

Fantastic dumplings! Some of the best dumplings I've had and I visit Philadelphia's Chinatown. The pickled cabbage and pork dumplings were so tasty. The cabbage popped and a nice acid taste to contrast the soy I was dipping. The spring rolls were nice and crispy. Great spot in Montreal. read more

Around dinnertime it is packed as it's one of the few restaurants in chinatown that closes reasonably late. The place had minimalistic decorations as it was mostly bare. We were still quick to get a table and the menu had a variety of dumplings. I had the chicken and cabbage dumplings and it wasn't too bad. I did get tired halfway through but it was worth the cheap price! It tasted very authentic and even had some soup inside. Perfect for a late night cheap bite! read more

dumpling surprise includes 15 dumplings for a fair price! love the experience of figuring out what ingredients were comibined. the soup dumplings & panfries dumpling were juicy. i love finding the perfect bite by adding chili oil & vinegar and each flavor combo was immaculate. If you're craving a genre of food but not sure what to try, having chef's special is the way to go. great first place to try in chinatown montreal for me :) read more

This is as authentic as Dumplings get! The server was so sweet and gave us extra sauce at no additional charge because we were visiting. She also recommended us some great places to visit while in town. 10/10 would recommend going again! The menu is very flexible too (: We made a few requests for our orders (due to dietary restrictions) but they were so nice and acomodating. I haven't had dumplings this amazing in so long. read more

I'm no expert on dumplings but color me impressed. This place is rocking with a long wait line that stretched all the way into the street. Good sign for things to come, I guess. Service was going at it hard. These guys are going table to table all night long and doing the best they can. Despite it being so busy, tables were spotless. Floors were clean and they were organized. We went with one set of steamed beef coriander and one fried pork plus cabbage. 2 plates, 15 dumplings each for less than $20 with tax. Excellent deal. The kitchen staff were pretty quick rolling these up and within 10 minutes we got SERVED with these sexy looking dumplings and we went to work on them. I must have a magician in my previous life because I can make delicious things disappear with no effort. Real good dumplings. Would revisit again for sure. read more
Qing Hua Dumplings in Montreal's Chinatown offers many vegan options. I had a mix of the cabbage, mushroom, and vermicelli dumplings + the wood earm, zucchini, and vermicelli dumplings. You can get them steamed (which I like better because they're softer) or pan-fried. Service is quick and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. I have no complaints. read more

From the sounds of it, this place is either hit or miss, but in my case, it was a great experience. We were seated quickly, and while it did take a few minutes to get our order taken, the dumplings came out quick. I ordered the shrimp-leek-pork dumplings and then an order of lamb and coriander dumplings. Both steamed. The dumplings were ready in around 15 minutes, and delivered to the table. Each order is a good portion and will easily fill you. There are additives for flavor at the tables. A little bit of hot chili sauce, a little soy, a little splash of vinegar and stir that around.... oh yeah, real nice. I felt the soup was lacking a bit, and it wasn't nearly as hot as I was expecting, but they were still decent dumplings on their own. A great spot for quick and cheap eats in China Town, Montreal. read more

While the food was amazing the waitress was outstandingly rude, stressed us out to order, didn't listen and put an empty container on the table without talking to me when I asked to take the rest of my dumplings. I highly recommend the restaurant but definitely avoid the waitress. The other guy was AMAZING. read more

We went to the Chinatown location for lunch--it was busy but we were seated in about 5 minutes. We ordered two types of steamed dumplings and each had soup. The food was DELICIOUS. It was the perfect amount for three of us. The employees were very friendly and efficient. We'd go back. read more

The actual taste of the dumpling was ok but the skin was so so thick and there was not much soup inside. The service was horrible. My friend and i ordered 2 different types of steam dumplings. First of all it took over 20min to get the first basket and another 15min for the second. By the time my friend got her dumpling mine was Cold and the skin became dry. Then we asked for water that never came and spoons took 3 requests to bring them. Not sure I'll be back.. read more
Decided to explore Montreal's Chinatown. This restaurant was in Lonely Planet's guidebook. I got the Dumpling surprise which is a Chef's choice of 15 mixed dumplings. There should be a minimum of 5 types of dumplings. I also got the green tea. The dumplings came steaming hot to my table in a bamboo steamer. I can only distinguish the lamb, pork with mushrooms and the curry chicken. The rest, I don't know what I ate. I felt that the dumplings had too must wrapping and not enough filling. read more
