Qiu Sushi and Ramen is a fast casual restaurant. We've visited several times now since they opened last month. I really like the vibe of this place. The interior is spacious, very clean and sparse looking. They also share the space with Whale Tea, and you order (and pay) at that counter. You pick up the food when it's ready from the sushi bar and bring to your table. The menu has a wide variety of traditional rolls as well as specialty rolls. During our visits, we've tried the Eel Avocado roll, Spicy Salmon roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, Kissena roll and the Fantastic Roll. The sushi was consistently delicious and fresh. Made well and had good fish quality. Ratio of fish to rice was just right. The Spicy Salmon was mild but had good texture. The Kissena roll was generously packed with sashimi pieces. And the Shrimp tempura was delicious, not oily and had great crunch. Qiu Sushi and Ramen is definitely worth checking out. The restaurant is in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of several schools, including Queens College. Once school opens this restaurant will be packed. I suggest coming by before then to check them out. One thing I must point out is that they do not serve ramen, they only sell sushi and poke bowls. I inquired with the staff about this, but they could not give me an answer as to why it says "ramen" in their name but they don't offer this on their menu.

The drink was great, besides the fact that it was overfilling and dripping, there isn't much to say. Thought the sushi was warm but tasted fine. There were no issues until I bit into a bone in the middle of my sushi.

This is salmon and tuna maki? And why is the owner or Yelp deleting my pics after I post them?

Minced meat is not sushi. Does this look like Salmon and Tuna rolls to you? My guess is the rest of the reviews are paid reviews.

Amazing food and amazing prices with their combos. Got my 3 rolls and drink of any choice for a unbeatable price. Girl at the front was very sweet too. Nice environment in the store. Will def be back often!

Passed by this place couple times on my way to Main Street and I finally gave it a try couple weeks ago. This place is combined with a bubble tea place called Whale's Tea, and you order the food at the same register you'd order the drinks. I ordered sushi and sashimi combo ($26) but they got the order wrong and gave us sushi combo instead. I went up to the register with my receipt to confirm and they fixed the order. We ended up getting 3 extra pieces of sushi in the end so I'm not complaining lol. The food was pretty decent. I haven't had sushi in a long time so it's hard to compare but I didn't have any complaints about the taste. Some of the sashimi was very cold though. (It seems weird pointing out that cold food is cold but the white sashimi tasted ice cold in comparison to other ones) As for the quantity, it was enough to fill up two small eaters, especially with the bubble tea on side. Maybe it's because it's still pretty new but unlike the name "Sushi and Ramen," they did not have any ramen options when I visited. I'd definitely visit again. The place has a nice cafe-like atmosphere and because it's combined with a bubble tea place, there's a variety of choices when it comes to drinks. They also seem to sell some Asian snacks, but I haven't paid too much attention to that.

We did ayce on a Friday for dinner and it was practically full even though it was maybe just after 6pm.. . L was glad he could order through the iPad and the food came fairly quickly since they had so many people making sushi. We started with mostly sashimi and some special rolls. The pieces were small at first but the rolls got bigger as we were in our 3rd round. We were ordering lil by lil. By the end after trying a good variety of special rolls... we both decided we really didn't care for all the combo ingredients and sauces. But if you really wanted special rolls, something with scallop was the best. Next time we'll stick to the sashimi and regular rolls. The sashimi although you can't expect omakase quality, it was decent...we liked the salmon the most. The only thing we tried other than sushi.. was the sirloin beef which tasted like something my mom used to make when I was a kid. It was salty but it would be great over rice. We also tried two of their teas.. rose one was good but I think I liked the green one... not bad for just $5 I think.. We ended the meal with pudding but I really didn't like it but if you like milk tea... which I don't, this might taste good to you. $2 discount per person if you pay in cash which we didn't bother. Great service, everyone was nice. We loved that the rolls weren't stuffed with rice.

We are very familiar with the area and must have walked passed this neatly tucked away gem without ever noticing it. Our son had mentioned that he and his friends have been going to a sushi place near Asian Jewel, our former dim sum go to place. When we sat down to order, my wife and I were quite impressed by how clean and cozy the restaurant was. Kind of on the small side with a few tables on the ground floor level. The menu offered cooked food as well as fresh sushi. We decided to start with the sushi & sashimi combo. They also offered a sushi or sashimi a la carte menu where you can choose to order by the piece. I believe that if you choose one of their standard menu sushi or sashimi orders and pay with cash, the a la carte price per piece of sushi / sashimi is only $1.35 / piece! Well we were famished and in addition to the sushi & sashimi plate we ordered two rounds of sushi & sashimi a la carte. Their salmon and yellow tail was so fresh and so scrumptious as was the sweet shrimp. The tuna was also very yummy and did not disappoint! When all was said and done we were quite happy with our experience with Yoi Sushi Japanese. I highly recommend Yoi if you're anywhere near Tangram Mall or Asian Jewel and have a hankering for yummy sushi. They also offer cooked food as well as ramen bowls.

It is $165 for a 13 course - it also comes with appetizer and dessert as well. The place is located inside Siam Thai - behind a bookshelf, the vibes are immaculate back there. The chief was so friendly and took his time to explain each dish to us and also took time to chat with us which I thought was really nice especially since I have mainly been to "fast casual" omakase locations recently where they don't really chat with you. There was a good variety of appetizers, fish and dessert. The appetizer options were so unique and the platting was so pretty. The fish options were also very plentiful and I liked the topping that they put on top of each one, the rich was not as warm and soft as I would usually like it but they paired well with the fish. The portion sizes were also pretty large which I thought was nice especially since we were paying about $165 a person. If you are getting sake, they do let you sample the sake before opening the whole bottle. The presentation of the opened sake was also so fancy. Overall - if you want a more traditional omakase experience, I highly recommend checking this place out. The vibes are immaculate and you will have a good time chatting with the chef while enjoying your food!

Service did match up to the price tag and we were treated well but the fish quality was very mediocre. Some pieces were overly warm and did not taste that fresh. The rice was often falling apart. There were the basic chutoro, salmon, otoro fish but no other fish was unique. There were only 13 courses and it felt that they were reusing ingredients because we had uni and caviar multiple times. One dish was uni, caviar, and white rice which felt like a cop out considering uni was a separate course. I did not need uni 3/13 courses provided as someone who enjoys uni. This place is comparative to those $60-70 omakase but not reflective of $165. I went to Shota Omakase for $195 and the fish quality and selection were more diverse.
