Went there with a group of friends. It was very small. Fits about 12 people by tables and seats 4 on the floor in the semi private area where it looks more like traditional tea seating, similar to Japanese style where you sit on the floor and fold your legs to sit. The place is very pretty but small. They have old fashioned traditional clothes to wear if you want to take old school pictures to look at if you're from the ancient era. The desserts definitely looked very pretty but not that great tasting. Had the mochi combo which was 3 mochis stuff with cream cheese and flavored jelly and Cokes with a pot of tea. We also ordered the mousse combo that also came with a pot of tea but think they gave us the wrong one because nothing that came out was even remotely close to mouse. The desserts tasted bland. Couldn't taste any flavors in them. The mochi was too over powered with cream cheese than that was basically all we tasted. The so called "mousse" combo was basically cookies, rice krispie pattie with cold tasteless cream on it, bunny jelly and chestnuts. Only thing that had flavor was the chestnut... everything else was basically no flavor. Came here because I saw a video on Instagram, now I'm learning not to trust those videos anymore....been disappointed twice already by falling into the hype and over glorifying of places from those videos.

Super cute! I loved the ambiance and seating. We were a group of 7 and we managed to sit inside the small room. The workers were compliant and nice. They recommend at most 4 people to sit inside but they let all of us in. The desserts were so cute and delicious. It was a great experience.

It's a cute little spot in the basement. The ambience is nice. The staff were good. And teas pretty decent. The desserts on the other hand were pretty bad. Mainly too sweet or it's just good to look at but not eat. I would come here to just get tea and chit chat. But dessert I will not get again.

Went with a friend and we really liked how different the pastry baked desserts were. They were like a hybrid of cookies and flakey pastry. It was kind of tucked downstairs in a basement but otherwise, enjoyed our teas and flower shaped pastries.

Kind of hidden underground but I found it to be a good spot to hang with a couple of folks and enjoy some desserts. The mung bean cakes were actually pretty decent.

Good amount of seatings. Pretty interior. The desserts were presented nicely and the staff members were kind. Free hanfu experience. Fun late night spot in flushing!

The dessert lab definitely was tucked away. The huge staircase can be a limit to handicaps. Downstairs is quite nice with cool decor. The desserts were not the typical desserts like ice cream. There are mochis and mung bean cakes irc.

QM Dessert Lab is a serene escape into the world of traditional Chinese desserts. The establishment is hidden in the basement, down some very steep steps, but upon stepping inside, the soft lighting, warm wooden tones, and classic, minimalistic aesthetic transport you away, to the perfect setting for afternoon tea and timeless sweets. * Dessert Combo 博古架 (酥点大合集) $36.99 Their dessert combos are thoughtfully curated, with an exquisite selection of mousse, mooncakes, pastries, and cookies. Best of all? Their desserts are "sweet, but not too sweet" if you know what I mean. It also comes with a pot of tea, and their Red Dragon Pu Er is simply delicious: mellow and smooth, with a sweet aftertaste. * Dragon Mousse 金玉满堂 $4.99 Soft, jiggly, and pineapple-flavored, with coconut jelly inside. Good, but get the bunny instead. Recs: - Peach Blossom Pastry Cake: crispy and slightly sweet with date paste inside - Walnut Cookies: crispy, fragrant, rich, and buttery - Peanut Pastry Cake: did someone say nutty? - Bunny Mousse: white rabbit candy-flavored, iykyk

Out of all the flavors I've tried here so far, nothing beats the rose milk tea. I also like the Thai milk tea but it doesn't beat the rose. The main problem I have with their milk teas is that every time I ask for less syrup (25,50%), I get no syrup. It's either full syrup or no syrup, which means too sweet or no sweetener. With the exception of the brown sugar milk tea, which had a clump of sugar syrup on the bottom, the rest of the times I asked for less syrup, I got none. I didn't realize the sugar syrup was clumped together at the bottom of the cup for the brown sugar milk tea. The 1st sip was extremely sweet since all the syrup came up. The rest of the drink was devoid of sweetener. I've tried the following milk teas recently: black sesame, jasmine, & brown sugar. I didn't like any of these because of the lack of sweetener. Anyway, learned my lesson not to ask for less sweet drinks here. I also noticed something weird when I went a few months ago. The employee had her phone stuck out from under the employee side pointed towards us. Seemed like she was recording. Weird. Anyway, the OD ( Thai tea) toast was sadly a bit too burnt for me that day. When I went again this week, the OD toast was on point. I always get Thai tea filling cream since I've learned from the 1st time that I got the mixed, the pandan has no flavor whatsoever.

I've tried the panda toast and the Thai tea toast. The Thai tea toast doesn't really have a strong Thai tea flavor but it is still very good. Mango shaved ice is very good. We got the ginger milk pudding. Do think it's a bit pricey ($10) since it's an easy dessert to make but I guess it's all the theatrics. They pour the dessert in front of you and put a sand glass on top. Once sand glass is done, so is the dessert and you can even rest a spoon on top. The dessert is very smooth, barely a solid, and its ginger taste is very strong- which I like. Strong ginger but pairs well with the milk and good amount of sugar. It is a bit spicy but I like it this way. They do have a lot of other desserts as well as savory items on the menu. Intrigued by their savory menu and will definitely come back to try them next time.

The inside is absolutely beautiful and while they have tables, they also have more traditional floor seating. We got a couple bites of food to eat, some of their tea, and some cocktails. Their food was very mediocre, at best. While the persimmon cake SEEMED to be made in house, it was very clear that everything off their food menu required minimal preparation (ie. for the dumplings, it was just har cow). I also thought their cocktails were okay, and out of the three we got, none stood out to me. I did enjoy their tea, however. But, it was also fairly expensive for what it was (~$50). Overall, I thought this spot was okay for the price and I'm not sure I would return.

We came with a fairly large group and ordered several teas and snacks to share amongst us. There were several options for the flavors of tea and each one had different benefits as well. I loved all of them, particularly the fruitier ones. As for snacks, we had this fried taro snack that had a crispy biscuit outer layer that was delicious. It was a bit of a sweet & savory mix, but not strong in either sweet or salty flavors. There was also this persimmon snack that was filled with nuts and other things. It was slightly sweet, very unique, and both paired well as a tea time snack. They're also open until 11:30pm! So if you want to skip the bar, I'd recommend checking out this tea spot for a nice hang out.

Lighter flavor but the floral flavor does come out at the end of a bite. Coconut milk jelly: the lightest of the flavor but still sweet and flavorful enough to come through. There's a dusting of graham crackers and strawberry jelly to complement. We also got a hot matcha jasmine latte but it was actually cold. It seems like it normally comes iced and perhaps they have no way of warming up the jasmine part. There's a points program and tons of promotions that rotate.
