Pro tip of you go for lunch: make sure to ask for the lunch menu, otherwise you may get the dinner menu. Had the lomo saltado lunch special. If you want more meat and food for twice the price, get the dinner option. Otherwise, the lunch special comes with a soup or salad in addition to the meal. At $13 it is a good value. My husband and I brought his mother and aunt here for lunch on 6/23/23. They have a high rating but not many reviews. I'll be honest, when we pulled up I was nervous and did not know what to expect. It's looks like a really small restaurant and it was empty when we entered. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table. The menu is interesting and it explains the name of the restaurant. Salsa for their Mexican fare and Brasa for their Peruvian fare. The menu is separated accordingly, and you can order tallerines or tacos, depending on your culinary desires. We all stuck with Peruvian but had some Mexican apps. Of course, we had the guac and chips. They give a good portions for the price. We also ordered some of their chicken wings but no sauce. I would suggest that you order them without the sauce and just have it on the side because their plain wings are sooooo good! Literally falling off the bone, crispy, piping hot and seasoned so well! We had the buffalo sauce and bleu cheese dressing on the side but they weren't needed at all. I kept it simple with a quarter rotisserie chicken (dark meat), a side of chaufa (fried rice) and fried sweet plantains. I also ordered an additional side or maduros and their salsa criolla (onion salad). My dish came with some aji verde, a spicy green sauce. My food was great. The meat fell off the bone. They gave a good portion of chaufa with my dish. I had leftovers. The salsa criolla was not as flavorful as I've experienced at other places but everything was really good. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes. The kid's Menu is respectable. They have so many options for our little humans and I love the fact that it's not just chicken and fries. Our daughter had their linguine with tomato sauce and grilled chicken, and she ate the entire dish. The serving size could have been for an adult. She loved every bite. Hubby had the tallerines verdes, linguine in a pesto sauce, and he opted for it to be served with skirt steak. The flavor of everything was great. The steak was cooked well to temp. It came with papa a la huancaína, potatoes in a spicy cheese sauce). Hubby enjoyed his meal. My MIL had the seafood tallerines saltado, and it came with a myriad of different seafood, including mussels and calamari. She loved the dish and exclaimed that it was a larger serving. Hubbys aunt had the short ribs and she had them with maduros and yucca fries. I tasted the yucca fries and they were ok. I've definitely had some that were way more flavorful but everything tastes good with the aji verde so I would suggest ordering extra for the table. I put that isht on everything! For dessert, I ordered some churros with ice-cream for my daughter. She loved it. The churros were filled with dulce de leche. My MIL had the tres leches and hubby's aunt had the chocolate cake. Both of them said their desserts were too sweet but the churros were perfect. Hubby and I order two of their cocktails to go. The cocktail wasn't that strong but I love the preparation. The cups were filled to the brim with a cover. Then they put another cover on top, upside-down, with a tajin rim, pineapple chunks, gummi beads orange slices, marachino cherry and a Mexican flag. It was the cutest thing but it definitely could have used an extra shot. Moral of the story is, never judge a book by its cover. This spot is minutes from our house and by the time we finished our meal, the place was packed. There was only one server (Julia?) and she was very attentive. So many people came in all at once but she didn't make us feel as though we were waiting long. She kept her cool and I respect that. If you've dined here, review, because they deserve the accolades. The food was good, I ordered the lomo saltado and it was really good, they gave me more onions than beef but not bad. I also had the mango juice and that was really really good. I looked up this place and read the reviews prior to dining. It was my first time trying Peruvian food. On the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall. Once you step in, very beautifully decorated. The place was practically empty (family of 3 inside), (4 people dining outside), and myself and a plus one. We were greeted immediately once we stepped inside. Our waitress Tatianna was awesome, attentive, and willing to answer any questions that we had regarding the cuisine. The wings were good. Juicy, crispy. I ordered the Pollo Saltado (mines didn't have fries; that's okay) with Chufa, and Maduros (Stir Fried Chicken, Fried Rice, and Sweet Plantains). It was good. Not overly seasoned, just right. Got the Family Combo Peruvian Chicken and the Tallerines Verdes with Steak. The good: the chicken was excellent....well seasoned and very juicy. Salchipapa looked like they cut their own potatoes, instead of using french fries...very good and leftovers heated really well in the air fryer. The avocado salad used real mixed greens and not just iceberg lettuce. The Tallerines Verdes was also excellent with a very creamy pesto sauce. The pasta tasted possibly homemade....had a chewiness that I don't get from a box. The only thing I didn't love was the steak; it was a little under seasoned and a bit chewy. It wasn't the worst, and not completely unexpected for the price, but everything else was sooooo good in comparison. Are you ever craving Mexican...but also craving Peruvian? This is your answer. I have ordered delivery here a few times, and each time has been consistently good. The delivery estimates on yelp and Grubhub have been a little shotty (sometimes comes a lot later than suggested) but overall has been pretty consistent. The lomo Saltado and tacos are always good. The only issue I have is when I order papa a la huancaina and ask for extra huancaina sauce I never get it (reason for my 4 stars instead of 5). I might stop by and check this place out to eat outside and have margaritas and see what the service is like inside. read more

OUR NEW GO TO! My husband and I had dinner here with another couple Saturday evening. All four of us returned with FIVE more friends on the next day. The food is amazing--fresh, tasteful and plated beautifully. Service is fantastic. Ask for the waitress from Venezuela--attentive and makes excellent suggestions. The owner is engaged and is committed to pleasing his clients. We stayed for over three hours and he made us feel at home. Everything is delicious--try the Jalea and Leche de Tigre, im wonderful. Must haves include (but certainly not limited to) chicha morada, chicharrón de pollo, lomo saltado, and more. We can't say enough about Salsa y Brasa. Food arrived 2hrs later. (Reason: they had a party at the restaurant & expected me to understand that) rice was hard as if they just scraped the bottom of the pot. Shrimp taco was extremely soggy. They get 1 star because the Avocado salad, sweet plantains & rotisserie chicken were ok. Will not order from here EVER again though! I'd say it was pretty much a waste of my money!!! I suggest you not believe their delivery times. You will be waiting way longer than what they say. FYI to the restaurant- delivery customers are just as important as your sit-in customers! I use to come here all the time for some great Peruvian food. I'm very upset about my visit and service today. The busboy dropped ceviche juice on me. We asked for a drink pisco sour Maracuya said it three time and he repeated it back and came back with the regular one. Went back and fixed it and took 30 minutes for the right drink. (WAS NOT BUSY 1 other table there). Had to ask the bus boy for water 3 times because he forgot and then when it came for the bill they only changed my card when I told them to split. I've passed by here a few times and had it bookmarked so on a Saturday when we would be passing by we decided to have lunch here. There is outdoor seating but we opted for inside, there is a lot of seating and the place has a nice ambiance with nice art on the walls. When we got there we were the only ones there since it was just after 12, the food options are good you have both Peruvian and Mexican appetizers and entrees, they have a drink menu with both types of beer, cocktails etc. We were given chips and dip when we sat down which came with salsa and green Peruvian sauce it was a nice touch. For entrees my fiancé ordered Mexican chicken enchiladas and I ordered, Peruvian bistec a la pobre, we both liked our dishes but didn't find it amazing. I didn't try the drinks and there were a few things on the menu I'd come back to try but honestly with so many Mexican and Peruvian places nearby I have found other places that make either cuisine better but this is a good place if you're with a group that's not sure which kind they would like, plenty of options here with good service. read more

Hidden gem. Went for takeout but they were open for business. A few umbrellas and tables on the sidewalk. Outside looking more like a storefront but what a pleasant surprise when I walked in. Lovely decor, high ceilings. I placed my order and while waiting I decided to try their sangria. A nice tall goblet filled with ice of red, but not too fruity, sangria. It was better than average. I sat on the side and silently moaned. It was sooooo. good and refreshing. And in spite of the ice it was boozy through and through. I took my family for the last time this weekend, it is the second time that I say not to put so much ice in the sangria that now the pitcher is much smaller than before and the prices have gone up exaggeratedly so they added water instead of ice, it seems that if I don't want so much ice they put water in it and they use the gallon passion fruit juice that costs $3 and very little meat on the plates, if you ask for chili because they only give you an extra small monqui dish for 6 people or if you ask for something extra, even ketchup, everything will be charged extra, is an abuse. I wish them luck. The owner has to change his attitude, when you ask for the check is telling you the total included the tip then when they bring you the receipt to sign the total have a line line to put the tip again is insane. read more
