I brought in a pair of expensive studio headphones that had a severed wire on the right side and no audio was coming through. After David took a look, he was honest and said he wasn't sure if he could fix it but he'd try. That was good enough for me because to replace them would cost a lot more than to fix. After a few days, he called and said they were fixed and I could come pick them up! Sure enough, they now work again. The price was fair and the turnaround was better than I expected. My only recommendation to other customers is that if you plan to go to the shop, call ahead to make sure he's there. He does house calls and is sometimes out and about. Well, they did it, they fixed it and shipped it back fairly quickly. I installed it back into the TV and everything worked perfectly. David is awesome- not just as a repair expert, but he is totally cool. for my last interaction with him, i decided to finally repair my Xenyx mixer which was making this godawful wretched noise. i called while the shop was closed and left a voicemail. David called me back later that day. we arranged to meet later and i left my mixer in his care, after he plugged it in right then and there, popped on some earphones, and listened to the problem. he let me know it would be about a week before he could get back to me. if this seems long to you, keep in mind that this is just because he has a lot of business! much sooner than 7 days he called me back, ready to have me pick up my now perfectly functioning mixer. the price is right what i expected- fair, low- and something i am totally happy about. this is not my first time visiting here. there were two other occasions where i brought in something and David let me know that repairing it would cost more money than replacing the item. (one monitor and one security camera on different occasions). this is very cool- he could just do the repair and take the money, and i am sure if one insisted, he would do so- but he is honest and does not want to rip anybody off. I forgot to finish this much deserved review and it has been years now- I just want to add that my mixer is still functioning perfectly! I now have an amp that needs repair and there is no way I will be going anywhere else. I referred a friend to him to repair a cassette deck, which she told me he got running perfectly- for a very low price. 6 months ago this guy David said he could repair my fathers vintage stereo....and he was a expert Tec, So I dropped the stereo off to David. I called 3 times for the first month with no calls back from David. When I finally got hold of David he said $100 would fix it, he also said he would call as soon as he was done. 4 more months later No calls back, no stereo, No return calls. This was my Dads and he has been dead 32 years. Guess David could care less. Finally got a hold of David today! I am picking the unit up!!!!! The guys at Quad City were really helpful. I needed a quote for a screen replacement and even though the TV was discontinued they took their time to write up a quote saying that for insurance purposes. I called around to a couple of other repair places and no one wanted to take the time to do this since they weren't going to be getting money to fix the tv. Brought my receiver and he charged me $20 non refundable fee upfront just to check the problem. He said to leave the receiver and call after a week. I called after a week and he said he hasn't checked it yet. It took another week for him to tell me that he doesn't have the parts and couldn't repair my receiver. Very slow service. I dropped an expensive table radio off for a repair estimate. I was charged $10 and was told it would take 3-4 business days. After checking back periodically over two plus weeks, the radio had not been touched. I then went in to the shop, since the phone is answered by someone somewhere else, never in the shop. I was told I would have an estimate the next business day. I went in three business days later. The radio was apart, but I was told that aside from taking it apart, nothing else was done. They didn't know when the repair person would get to it. I assume that this was done to appease me (show me work in progress). I had the person reassemble the radio, which he damaged, and I took it. If you use them, be prepared to pay up front and wait a long time. They do have plenty of parking. read more

My 55 inch Plasma died, it had the 7 blinks of death as they call it. I called Quad City Electronics, told David all about it. No problem he said, told me to bring the 3 circuit boards that are associated with that problem to him and we'd go from there. He found one of my buffer boards were bad, sold me one that he had in is store. I installed them back in my TV and again i got the 7 blinks of death. I called David and again he was so polite, said to bring them over and he'd check them out. Each board turned out to be good and through talking about it, we figured I didn't do one of the connectors correct. Went home, hooked it all up and it worked perfectly. David didn't even charge me for rechecking them, told me to just call him if any other problem arose. David is a true professional, showed me on another Plasma at his shop on how to install the circuit bounds correctly, what to do and what not to do. Gave me some upgraded washers and screws for the boards, he knew about the factory screws, that they were causing they're own problems.
