I really struggled with how to rate this. I think I'm right at a 3.5. This is located in a plaza and is very cute inside. We went on a saturday night at 6pm and had reservations. We were seated promptly. It's very small and cozy inside. The chef comes out and greets you, he also helped us pick a wine which was very good and exactly what we were looking for. We started with the salumi e robiola ($45) which was the charcuterie. It was good, but nothing that blew me away and incredibly expensive. I understand that most everything is imported from Italy, but we definitely had sticker shock. We also started with cozze blu alla veneto (mussels - $27). These were very good and flavorful. We ordered two pastas to share and we got the caprese salad and a tomato and gouda soup as a starter. The caprese salad was literally five mozzarella pearls with some balsamic. The tomato and gouda soup was probably some of the best soup I've ever had. Rich, hearty, creamy. I can't say enough good things. The two pastas we got were the funghi misti trifolati ($49) and the salsiccia e peperoncino arrosto ($53). For some reason, and I feel like this has to be a fluke, the funghi pasta had almost no flavor. Not even earthiness from the mushrooms. I don't really know what happened there because even if I have issues with portion size or price, everything had great flavor, something was just off with this one. The salsiccia pasta was very very spicy. We added ricotta which was a good balance and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert we got basically a deconstructed cannoli. It was just okay. it was also their only dessert option. Our server was attentive and checked on us often. Overall, the night had hits and misses. This was our second time at this amazing restaurant, and it was just as good as our first experience. Chef Chris curates a carefully chosen menu every time, making pretty much everything from scratch or imports the best quality ingredients for all of it. The results speak for themselves. Our bread service on Friday evening, for example, included ricotta de buffala, small yellow tomatoes and then red tomatoes specifically grown at the foot of Mount Vesuvius in Naples (but they are NOT the more famous San Marzanos). Apparently they hang them in a dry cellar like garlic is and they dry out for months. They were creamy and mild but different than any tomato I've ever had. My husband and I "fought" over the last one, LOL! Other highlights were the roasted red pepper and smoked Gouda bisque (which was INSANE) and my main course of pasta with homemade spicy sausage, etc. I could be here all day- everything we had was incredible. The most notable thing besides the food is the service....from the wait staff (I forgot her name, I'm so sorry) who was knowledgeable, gracious and attentive without being intrusive, to Chef Chris himself who comes out to greet every table, recommend wines based on your food choices, and just checking in....all of it makes it a truly special place. Yes, initially you may get some sticker shock- but you get what you pay for: incredible food you simply CANNOT get anywhere in the Tampa Bay Area paired with unparalleled service. If I could give this restaurant 15 stars, I would! Seriously, I don't think words can fully capture how superb our dining experience was. When we made the reservations on opentable, we had to book two separate tables, 30 minutes apart, for our group of eight. We didn't realize we could've just called to request seating together, but when we arrived, they immediately accommodated us. The chef kindly explained that our food might take a little longer since it was just him in the kitchen, but we didn't mind one bit. After the chef introduced himself, he selected wines for us based on our preferences, which truly set the tone for a memorable night. We started with this delicious pinsa bread, with some oil and vinegar to dip in, followed by appetizers where the mozzarella and burrata were out of this world. Then came a salad that we all assumed would go mostly untouched, but instead we devoured it and we all agreed we had never tasted a salad like that before. Simple, yet incredibly flavored. The main dishes were equally impressive--fresh, flavorful, and simply beyond description. We tried to order different pasta dishes, and tried a little bit from each other's. They were all great! And to say the service matched the quality of the food is an understatement. Our server (who I believe was the chef's partner?) was patient, attentive, and kind. She explained every dish we were interested in, and made accommodations for food intolerances and dietary restrictions. You can kinda tell she's more of an introverted person than her partner, but that didn't stop her from providing amazing and timely service. It was really a personal and tailored dinner. The chef also came out multiple times to explain dishes, share stories about sourcing ingredients (many directly from Europe), his background, future events at their restaurant, and even answer our random questions. Also, I should mention, the food didn't take as long as we thought it would, so he must've been cranking back there. To top it off, at the end of the night, he brought out a bottle of limoncello and took a shot with us. It was the perfect way to end an unexpectedly perfect dinner. And even though I was so full I couldn't leave without a dessert (to go) and a latte that tasted like I was back in Italy. Pure perfection. I would come back just for that. Honestly, I'm a bit ashamed to admit I was a skeptic when my husband first mentioned this place. We did stop by there a few weeks ago (earlier in the day) and was disappointed they were closed. I think I might've mentioned something along the lines of: "How great can that little spot be anyway?" Despite that, my husband made reservations because people recommended the place to us. Let's just say, I ate far more than my words last night, hehe! For context--not to brag-- but because we were in the military and now my husband loves traveling and dining out at the best-rated restaurants he can find in every city (he's a little boogie like that ), my family and I have traveled extensively and eaten o in a lot of great places. We recently visited a few countries in Europe, including Italy and France, and honestly those are the only places that truly compare in terms of food quality. Even so, the experience here was unique--something we haven't found in even the fanciest restaurants stateside. You can tell this is a labor of love, because with the cost of foods and especially imported ingredients, I don't see how they could be doing this for profit. If you're considering it--go. I hope your experience is as unforgettable as ours, because we will absolutely be coming back. Small, unassuming place in a strip center. Only 4 tables of 4 for seating. Came in thinking it was a casual pizza shop and Italian market, but it was entirely different. Their market was more of an extensive craft beer shop with some wines and goods. We opted not to order pizza. Instead, we ordered off their menu (forgot to take a pic). To start, we had a bowl of their lobster bisque. It was an ample serving and thick and creamy initially, but as it cooled, it became more thinned out and liquid. The flavor was good, but there were no noticeable chunks of lobster, as you generally would expect. I've had better. We moved on to their caprese salad and bread. Now, this was tasty...fresh mozzarella, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was accompanied by fresh herbs, and as a different take, a type of sun-dried tomatoes...which were sweet to the taste. Their house bread was crusty and also served with oil and balsamic vinegar. On to the main course, we opted for their ragu bolognese. The pasta was fresh and thick, and the sauce was meaty. It had just a subtle tomato flavor. The serving was ample, and I took home leftovers so I could save room for dessert....which turned out to be the pièce de rèsistance. We had initially asked for dessert to go, since we knew we were already full, but the waitress mistakenly brought it out on a plate and said she could bring a box for what we didn't fininsh...needless to say, we didn't need a box. It was a chocolatety, creamy piece of heaven that once we started eating, we just couldn't stop. I have been to this place several time. If you in search for Italian product, this is your place. The store is part restaurant, part grocery and part wine store. They do carry good bottles of Italian wine. I like the rose wine here. The sandwich is decent here. I have couple of different sandwiches here. I have Cuban and European classic. Both sandwiches are tasty. They also have pizza that I have not try it. One thing for sure, the cold cut prosciutto is good here. I like to have a few cut and go with the rose. The food is exquisite and worth a visit. Don't let the storefront dissuade you from visiting. The food is on par with 4-5 Star restaurants. You know, the ones that require a suit and tie, reservations months in advance, tipping the host:hostess to get higher up on the waitlist... we went on a night where they were trying out all new dishes and all you paid was what you thought the dish should be priced at. Why 5 stars? Because this is definitely a place I want to visit regularly. --- --- --- Ever since missing the Yelp event hosted here, I have had it on my list to check this place out. My first experience was very brief as I found out he did not receive his shipments in due to the threat of a hurricane, so he was out of all fresh food from the deli. Of course, this was totally understandable, but I do wish there was some kind of posting on social media about that because I even checked their Facebook page ahead of time to confirm that they were open. But I waited a couple of weeks and returned. There were a few sandwich options but I was told that the menu would be changing in a few days, so I'm not sure what's currently available as I type this out. I opted for a Cuban sandwich and browsed the products while I waited. This Cuban was just a bit different than any other that I've had. I think the main difference is that it was only moderately pressed, which left some softness to the bread and did not completely melt the cheese to act as an adhesive to hold everything together. While I was a bit thrown off by that at first, I came to realize how much I enjoyed the sandwich as I continued to eat it. I also was able to buy a few local brews here. I love Pumpkin Beer and picked up some cans from Brew Bus, Big Top and Tampa Bay Brewing Company. They pretty much have every single canned beer made in the Tampa Bay area here, so you any beer lovers will be all set with this selection. For all the delicious snacks in here, I do wish that there were some chips available. That was the only thing missing with my sandwich, but the sandwich itself was a home run. On my next visit, I ordered a pizza with prosciutto and mozzarella, which was enjoyable, but I liked the Cuban Sandwich even more. The international and local wines, local beers of all sorts, imported foods and cheeses...basically an exotic atmosphere in my mind, was great. It's a lot to take in but the owners explained their products well and were very knowledgeable on the details of their liquor and wines and foods. The store is clean and brightly lit! Like the dumbarse I can be, I showed up on a Monday when the store/restaurant is closed. Co-owner Chris took pity on me & welcomed me inside. He was kind enough to speak w/ me for a considerable amount of time. This is a market/restaurant. Both offer vegan, vegetarian, organic, local, & Average Joe/Jane foods. One popular restaurant offering is a pizza made w/ dairy-free cheese, which you can top w/ plant based "hamburger" & "sausage," etc. Regular crust & a non gluten variety are available. (Regular pizza is also prepared & sold here.) There are always desserts available in the dessert case (all made by Chris); the four today were regular varieties. They were elegant cheesecakes, a chocolate cake, & some type of sweet chocolate balls filled w/ a delicious cream. (Through my tears, their name escapes me:) There are over 100 local craft beers in the refrigerator cases, & there's a mix & match special price if you purchase three. Lots of local wines are sold here, along w/ many sauces & miscellaneous food items. (See pics.) This establishment sells vegan candy bars that resemble their name brand equivalents. The one I purchased replaces an Almond Joy. It does contain sugar, but not cane sugar. According to Chris, these popular vegan candy bars are sold @ just one other business in Florida-- in Tallahassee or Jacksonville, I believe he said. (I was too busy crying over the dessert case to pay close attention:) I walked out w/ this store's two most popular vegan products-- the frozen "sausage" & "crab" cakes, along w/ a vegan chocolate bar. My stash (see pic) came to approximately $36. I was promised that the sausage is hardly distinguishable from regular sausage, so tonight it's going to be made into a jalapeño chili. The restaurant doesn't share all the same hours as the market section of the store, & soon the market will be open on Mondays (w/ just breakfast being sold that day.) But for now, this business is closed on Mondays. Recently, it was rented for a wedding reception, so if it's a small venue you need, Chris & his wife may be able to accommodate your wedding party & guests. On October 12, 2019, for $25 you can attend a large event in the parking lot; I believe Chris said 400 people are expected to attend. This will be a craft beer event w/ all the money raised going to charity. There will be food available as well, although NO vegan foods. If you don't drink beer, you can get in free, but you'll have to pay any vendor for the foods you want to try. See the website for more info! Locally owned and operated store packed with love. I was seriously impressed walking into this store. The first thing I noticed was beer and wine - rows and rows of it. I found out that most of the beer is local and all from within Florida. They are serious when they say they support local. The food menu is also incredibly local, because it is mainly all made in store! They make their own sauerkraut for the reuben. How incredibly cool is that? I didn't get to try any of their food, but I really want to. You can also buy a bottle of wine and open it with your meal if you eat in the store. There is no markup or corkage fee. Again, this is all seriously unique. I mentioned how my dad would enjoy this place, because he is a huge wine buff and the owner, Chris, showed me some really cool wine they had that is reminiscent of the original wine and wine bottles made in the country of Georgia. It was father's day the next week and I was procrastinating getting a gift so I was sold. I could feel his passion as he explained the process and how there are only three places in the US where you can get this wine! I got a dry white and a semi sweet red and now I can't wait to gift them to my dad. If you love wine, beer, and locally sourced unique products, you'll love this place. I'm actually super sad it isn't closer to me. They have a mix and match deal with their beer and I think that would be a fun way to try a ton of different options. I was taken here on a date. Honestly, at first, I didn't know what to think. I do love a good hidden gem and I always go into restaurants with an open mind. I'm SO happy that my date took me here! We got the cheese bread as an appetizer...I'm not kidding when I say it was a religious experience. The marinara dip that came with it is slightly sweet and not super acidic. The cheese bread was a meal in itself. Note that you're not going to find fountain drinks here, but I ordered a diet cola and it was a bottled version that was extremely good! We ordered two different pizzas, the Margherita and the Tre Carne. OH. MY. GOD. SO delicious. Perfect amount of cheese, that amazing sauce, and delicious quality meat. Even though I didn't feel like I could eat anymore...we ordered cannolis. I got the chocolate chip (classic) and my date got the peanut butter chip. Absolutely delicious, not gummy in the middle (which is how you know the cannoli has been sitting for hours)...these were FRESH and SO good. Do yourself a favor and don't sleep on this restaurant! Chris & Emily just keep improving this place. They are serving exceptional Italian food made from scratch and with attention to detail. Their pizzas have always been good, Chris makes his own dough and the ingredients are top quality. He is now making bread which is amazing, he sells it by the loaf and he is also making Muffalettas; which are seriously good. He makes his own olive salad to go on them and the meats and cheeses are great. We (4) went there on a Saturday night and had a wonderful meal, his pasta dishes are authentic Italian, our friend had the bolognese sauce over pappardelle pasta, his wife the mussels which were just phenomenal, my husband and I had the clams in a white sauce over spaghetti we both were in heaven! The appetizers are delicious, our entrees amazing and we passed on dessert because we were all so full. Chris and Emily are both very knowledgeable about the wines and beers that they sell. I'm not wine person but my spouse and our friend are and they both enjoyed the two selections they decided on, I am a beer person along with our other friend and when I explained to Chris what kind of beer I preferred he was able to pick a craft beer that I found to be wonderful, he did the same for our friend. You've GOT to check out this local gem! Terrific owners, with an amazing variety of craft beers and wines. We also ordered pizza togo tonite and it was nice and crispy the way I like it. Thin crust with pepperoni onion and mushrooms. OH, also they've got desserts to DIE for. We ordered a pistachio cannoli and lemoncello cake BOTH were so fresh and delicious. My husband and I have been searching for a local pizzeria that serves NY style pizza. Today we came across this family-owned, hidden gem (an Italian style pizzeria). We ordered the Alfredo pizza and it was delicious. The crust was super crispy and there was so much flavor in the sauce. If you're a beer or wine drinker, the variety QFM offers here is endless and you're bound to find something you'll enjoy. They even have 3 Italian wines on tap.
