Next, the pours were generous for this type of a tasting and seconds were available if wanted. Also, the charcuterie platter was generous; cheeses perfectly paired for these wines and refilled as needed. The wines were very enjoyable, ready to drink now. Especially the Caymus Cabernet. For a classic sangria this is my favorite place in all of tampa because the owner has the recipe down to a mix and the way you can taste the cinnamon through the drink is lovely. I am a HUGE wine fan and definitely enjoy a engaging tasting in a great atmosphere and TWR had it all. Beautiful decor and wonderful space that would excited any wine lover. There is a large bar that wraps around with comfortable chairs. Several additional seating options as well. They have an impressive variety of wine both chilled and not as well as many available by the glass. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They do not serve food but do offer the full menu from the restaurant next door, Michaels and they bring it to you. They host Several events and ours was a tasting by Kendall Jackson wines and charcuterie pairing. It's nice to have a place like this in Carrollwood. Wine is sold by the ounce from dispensers with a decent selection to choose from (about 30 or so bottles). If you're a novice to wine and interested in trying different ones to figure out what strikes your fancy, this is the place to go. So we went here to celebrate my birthday on a cold Saturday in January. It wasn't very busy but loved the live music. There was an amazing violist that night. The server was great and very helpful with the card wine pour, it took me a minute to figure it out. we called ahead and got the special couch area for my group and celebration which was nice. Not bad for a wine bar. I know, 4 stars should be better than "not bad," but I'm being generous. Would probably say 3.5, but I'm rounding up. COVID crap - masks worn by staff, no gloves. Hand sanitizer available. No social distancing enforced. Not the safest of places if busy, but thankfully, it wasn't busy. I'm rounding up because they have the system where you can get a card and try a bunch of different wines from dispensers and can get different sizes. The reason it's being rounded up instead of a straight 4 stars is because their white dispenser was broken and the red dispenser was like 75% cabernet sauvignon, including a couple of duplicate bottles in the dispensers. Personally, I love me some cabs, but some variety would have been nice. That said, the cabs and other reds that they did have to taste were all very good, some better than others. Also, there is a free glass of house wine with check in, but don't bother. The house wine is kinda garbage. We didn't try any food, so no comment there. Seating is comfortable - they have bar seats, but also some hightops and couches and other comfy seating. They also had live music while we were there - just a guy and his guitar - but he was excellent and we really enjoyed listening. All in all, not a bad place to spend some time in the evenings. A lot of wines I never heard of and some of them were quite tasty. I wouldn't make a special trip, but if you're in the area, check it out. read more

Hidden gem! This place has changed so much since I moved back to Tampa. It is very chic and modern but has such a cozy feel to it. There's plenty of space for seating at the bar and it is beautiful if you just want to hang out and relax. It was great as you can order a little appetizers from the restaurant next door (they come to you) and all while enjoying a huge selection of wine. It's very spacious and there's even a whole part of the location that I'm missing but it's very nice inside. They often have live music on the weekends but not certain of the schedule. I hope you decide to RUN not walk to The Wine Shoppe. This is easily a go to place for wine to take to a party or to socialize with friends. I went on Tuesday for happy hour with friends. This little shoppe is tucked away on a plaza in Dale Mabry but it's worth a visit. I barely made the cut for happy hour but Pedro the man behind the bar still gave me a glass. I enjoyed a refreshing moscato from France that I have never heard of. It was a quiet night and there were a few other guests but Pedro was able to show us how to use the wine machines where we could sample wines. We had a few glasses and were even able to order food from the bar from the Italian restaurant next door. I got the egg rolls and they did not disappoint. The Wine Shoppe was clean and the staff friendly. They opened up a year ago and host events and even sell cigars. Try this place out! read more

I've had a really nice experience both times I've come in! Tonight we visited after a wonderful dinner at Black Rock, and we were able to comfortably walk over and were helped quickly by a dark haired younger girl at the bar. I ordered moscato, because I don't drink so I like it sweet, and always feel surprised that it doesn't hit me as hard as most wines usually do! A great sipping wine, but also one that I feel could go down a little too easily in the right conditions. He got a wonderful red wine that I can't remember the name of, but started with a C. I was genuinely shocked that I enjoyed what he got as I never enjoy reds and seldom enjoy other white wines. We sat inside for a bit after closing out the first round and found the couches to be very plush and the paintings were a beautiful addition to add ambiance. After sitting indoors for awhile and looking at their cigar collection, we moved outside and listened to the live music. I never got their groups name, but played beautiful acoustic renditions of well known songs which was enjoyable to listen to as we smoked and drank outside. My second time here and an absolute wonderful end to a rare date night. In five years of dating, I've never seen him order wine and I was impressed that he enjoyed it as much as he did. I had recently moved back from South Tampa to Carrollwood and I heard about this place from an individual at my health club on Harbour Island. Needless to say I was skeptical. I had very low expectations about a wine bar in Carrollwood. Well the joke is on me. This place not only exceeded my expectations but blew me away in every aspect! From the moment I walked in I felt like I was a valued customer. Pedro and Chelsea were working and they not only had smiles on their faces entire evening but wanted to genuinely get to know me. They had the pour your own glass of wine via the wine dispenser however, due you technical issues it wasn't working that evening. I wasn't mad it's something they can't control however Pedro felt so bad he not only gave me a free glass of wine which by the way was delicious but also gave me 20% off a bottle.
