Woody, Junior, and the crew did an amazing job painting my 1967 Pontiac Firebird. I spent 17 years…read morerestoring this car and the only thing I didn't do myself was exterior paint. Figured I should leave that to the professionals. I did all the metal work and removed trim before taking it in. Attached are a couple before pics. Maaco sanded it down to bare metal then did all the bondo work and block sanding. You can see some "during" photos attached. They did all the paint prep then painted and it came out amazing. Attached are a couple pics from the paint booth. Also some pics of the finished product after I installed interior and re-assembled all the trim. I can't say enough about how wonderful they did and just the whole experience. I took this car for quotes at 3 restoration shops before coming to Maaco. First of all the price was about 1/4 to 1/2 of what the resto shops quoted. Maaco started a month after I came in and completed in just over two months of work. The resto shops told me they wouldn't be able to start for 6-18 months and quoted 6-13 months to do the work! It came out amazing. I can't imagine it being any better. I put a scratch in it while assembling trim and tried to fix with some touch up paint. Of course my touch up looked bad, like a worm laying on the cowl. I brought it in to ask for advice on how to fix my touch up and Junior fixed it right there in about 30 mins and wouldn't even take any money from me. I highly recommend North Portland Maaco. Great people, great service, great work. Excellent pricing and timing. What more could you want

He is much less expensive than the larger shops, always sticks to his estimates and gives very clear explanations of what is involved in the work. And his work is reliable and skillfully done. When I left this morning, I told him that I hoped to see him soon, but under different circumstances! I would highly recommend his shop.

Update: More issues have come up, and they were of a dangerous nature. According to another…read moreelectrician the my light and the fact that the generator wasn't working properly: "I reinspected the wires that were previously installed to provide power to the rooftop AC from the generator.The generator provides 30 amp power and that power is sent to the first junction box, the metal one on the floor of the camper using 10 ga SO wire. This is appropriate gauge wire for the circuit. That stranded wire is joined to a 12 gauge stranded THHN (or similar individual conductors) that is run through flex conduit up to a second PVC junction box. There the 12ga THHN is joined to 12ga Romex, it is also run in flexible conduit. This connection would not pass any inspection and is dangerous to the point it could overload the wire, causing a fire and destroying your vehicle. This is a very dangerous installation and needs to be modified with a circuit breaker where the wire changes from 10ga to 12ga. I'm assuming the previous configuration included a more robust electrical system that was removed by the previous owner. To correct this dangerous situation, we will need to add a breaker panel with a 20 amp breaker which is adequate protection for the circuit. There is also an issue with the passenger taillight. There was no power to the light because the wire was disconnected and bundled behind the tear bumper. A new light was installed, however, it never functioned, making for a dangerous situation. The original light likely worked. It was a wiring issue. They also claimed they couldn't source a dash vent to replace, yet my electrician was able to easily find one by simply googling "utilimaster step van round dash vent"; it literally took him less than a minute to find. They were going to let me have a huge hole on my dash rather than taking the time to cover it with a vent. -Not only were these people incompetent and lazy, but they could've cost me my business had my electrican not caught the faulty fusing of the generator. I will be submitting a claim to BBB and possibly taking them to court.
