Pre fixing This does not look good.
    Laura I.

I've been so impressed so far with customer service and availability. I'm working with curbing/learning to park a short car for my first car in my life and just spent... 4 hours at the dealership (with an appt) for them to do a thing they had to do. But they referred me to someone who couldn't even fit me in for an appt for another week for the next part of the job. I called Rod and he answered and was able to look at my car that day to provide an estimate that is more than I'd dreamed, but also less than I'd feared . He also offered some cheaper options, which I appreciated, but I'd like a new start with my car. He ordered the parts and made a plan for when I'll need to bring my car in for the repairs based on my schedule (summer fun!) I was in and out in... 20 mins? So close to my house, I couldn't ask for better so far. Will update with pics once work completed!

These guys did a great job fixing "hit and run" damage to the passenger side of a Mazda CX5. The estimate for the work was accurate; as was the time estimate for completing the job. They were recommended by my Mechanic shop: Everett Autoworks. Thumbs up!

I have never written an online review before, but I'm compelled to because of my amazing experience here. I can promise you that you and your car will be taken care of here with exceptional customer service. Rod is an honest, understanding, and respectful businessman who takes care of his customers. I recently got in a rear ending accident and unfortunately had to pay for the collision damages on my 2008 Toyota Prius out of pocket. (As a 23 year old I'm not in the place to buy another new car, nor do I have what would've been well over $4,500 to spend on repairs) Rod shopped around to keep the repairs at a low cost. They worked diligently and did a thorough job finding salvaged and manufactured parts to save me money. Rod also put tremendous effort in to fix parts like the headlights that would've costed me another $800 each. He was able to find amazing deals on many good quality used parts that needed to be replaced and new parts that were less expensive that buying from the dealer. He explained the inner mechanics and functioning of each part. He explained and physically showed me what the damages were, which I really appreciated. He didn't make me feel inept, nor did he take advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars. In addition, when I was communicating with him, he went out of his way to make sure that the time I dropped off and picked up my car were convenient for me. My car looks better than it did before the accident!(attached are the before and after pictures can't urge you enough to get your work done here at Westside Auto Body and Paint. They will not disappoint.

I was very pleased with the repair job and Rod even helped with some other issues unrelated to the initial repair.

Apparently my update voided my original review so here it is:…read more Avoid bringing your car here. He will quote you an inexpensive price, but you're not just getting a lower quality paint job, you're getting an objectively wrong paint job. I brought in my '87 300ZX because my mechanic had recently met Chris Jensen of Dawg House, and there was hope for a business partnership. The FIRST time he painted my car, it was a certifiable mess. Major drips everywhere including one long, uninterrupted drip across the length of the back hatch. My mechanic and I were shocked and brought this up to Mr. Jensen, requesting it be fixed. Even to my untrained eye, I knew this was wrong. Mr. Jensen blamed the defect on using a new clear coat product that was suggested to him, but that he would fix it. Knowing what I know now, I believe he screwed up and was too cowardly to take accountability. He had to completely repaint the car to fix the issues. The SECOND paint job was largely drip free. However, there were thousands of inclusions across the entire car. It's like he threw sand on the car and painted over it. There was orange peal on all surfaces, he painted things that should not have been painted: key holes, matte trim pieces, windshield wiper fluid sprayers. The paint in tight areas (like within the t-top perimeter) is chipping away, and there were several tape marks left. Once again, even to my untrained eye, the work was abysmal. On the invoice, it specified that I bring the car back in 90 days for the cut and buff. He refused that service stating he had already done it once. Was he referring to the incredibly defunct first paint job?? I brought the car to another specialist to cut and buff, but there are just some things he couldn't fix. There were areas where the paint was applied too thinly to effect much improvement. And the trim pieces cannot be corrected. Further, on a car this old, replacing those pieces will be nearly impossible. I wasn't looking for show quality, but I certainly expected a correct job. Also, even though he made promise to pay for this cut and buff in lieu of actually doing it, I had to chase down the payment and threaten small claims since I had documentation that he would pay. He then tried to leverage the payment into me changing my review. Further, a few months later the paint chipped and just fell off on the front bumper. I told him that previous body shops had said the bumper wouldn't take another paint job and he ASSURED me there wouldn't be an issue. Mr. Jensen is unskilled, not professional, and a scammer and unfortunately my naïveté made me and my car the losers. I posted this information on his Facebook review but he blocked me. Seriously, you'd be better off at Maaco.

Figured I should leave that to the professionals. I did all the metal work and removed trim before taking it in. Attached are a couple before pics. Maaco sanded it down to bare metal then did all the bondo work and block sanding. You can see some "during" photos attached. They did all the paint prep then painted and it came out amazing. Attached are a couple pics from the paint booth. Also some pics of the finished product after I installed interior and re-assembled all the trim. I can't say enough about how wonderful they did and just the whole experience. I took this car for quotes at 3 restoration shops before coming to Maaco. First of all the price was about 1/4 to 1/2 of what the resto shops quoted. Maaco started a month after I came in and completed in just over two months of work. The resto shops told me they wouldn't be able to start for 6-18 months and quoted 6-13 months to do the work! It came out amazing. I can't imagine it being any better. I put a scratch in it while assembling trim and tried to fix with some touch up paint. Of course my touch up looked bad, like a worm laying on the cowl. I brought it in to ask for advice on how to fix my touch up and Junior fixed it right there in about 30 mins and wouldn't even take any money from me. I highly recommend North Portland Maaco. Great people, great service, great work. Excellent pricing and timing. What more could you want
