I would not stay here again. We went to our first room and it smelled like wet dog, the sheets had animal hair on them along with what looked like snot, and the sink was obviously refinished as a DIY project and it was terrible. Called the front desk to get another room. Go to second room and it didn't smell as much, but the sheets were clean. The sink again was a DIY project, the coat rack was rusted to the point that you couldn't put anything on it and the mirror was so damaged there was not one clear space on it. If you have a choice of staying somewhere else, please do so. We have stayed at other Quality Inns and they have always been nice so we were very shocked with the condition of this one.

The ocean view was a joke as you had to literally lean over the railing to see the ocean. Checking in the lobby was clean and valet was accommodating. Unfortunately that's the extent of good things I have to say about this hotel. Walking in the room had a musty smell. The bathroom was dirty with random hairs all over. There was no dresser or any way to put your clothing away except the 4 hangers. We called guest services and they said they would bring a dresser up. What they brought was a nightstand that looked like it was bought off Temu. After going back down to the front desk we were told that there are no rooms with any dressers and we could not get any additional hangers. Furniture was in bad condition and definitely not worth the price they were charging. The room was not cheap, but it felt as if we were staying in a Motel 6.

We asked for a pet friendly non-smoking room and they stick us in a room in between two smokers that pretty much lived with their door open sitting in a chair smoking with one of them that actually had a commercial grade ashtray stand for his butts. Most hotel beds have a nice platform. These beds had a plain Jane fold up metal frame. The mini refrigerator look like it had seen better days. The wall unit underneath the window for cooling and heating barely cooled at all. It's not uncommon for a hotel to have a coffee maker with a little plastic bag that includes one or two sugars and a couple creamers, a napkin, and a stir straw... The creamers must have been there since the days of Moses because it was solid and brittle. I have pictures of the mini fridge, the bed frames, and the nasty creamer. This place was terrible! If you are broke and desperately needing some place that's better than being on the street then this will be a step up

On second day, they were replacing a pipe, had to shut down the water. Took them all day to replace it, and then a bust pipe! It resulted in a disaster, there was no water all day and night. Worst nightmare. The water finally came back on the next day... for a few hours, then water shut off again! This time, I was told that their landscaping guy broke the pipe. It was really bad timing because it was one day before thanksgiving. Good that it only took a couple of hours to fix it this time. At least they did something right by offering partial discount (50% off of that one night). Every employee was nice and friendly except the house keeping lady who did our room. We greeted her, but she never greeted us back, always poker face. She only cleaned the drain in the shower one time, leave the hair in the drain for the rest of our stay. She didn't give us clean towels every day, didn't clean the trash bin in the shower. I never had this bad experience before. We booked the thanksgiving meal at the hotel, the meal was good as a buffet style food. Only one hour to dine, as they rotated the tables every hour. It cost us $50 per person plus taxes and tips, alcohol drinks not included. The meal was good, but I will not do it again. Breakfast not included in the room rate.

THE OCEAN GALLERY REVIEW: 310 PREMIER VISTA WAY…read more In planning for our one week yearly summer beach getaway to St. Augustine, we came across a lovely beach condo at the Ocean Gallery. It was the most expensive rental place for us so far (over $3000), but it had a beautiful view of the beach and looked very nice in the pictures. What we found upon arriving was the exact opposite of what was in the ad. All of the things wrong should have been caught if the complex was managed well and they checked each unit BEFORE it was rented to the next guest! Let me list the many things that we found: The bathroom sink in the second bath barely drained. Th toilet in the second bathroom was loose and the maintenance people said they needed to replace it, so to be very careful in using it. The toilet in the first bathroom ran all the time. The screen porch screen was off its track. The closet door was also off track. The door to the patio was broken and could not be locked. Broken baseboard pulled away from the wall in the main bedroom. Old, stained, and torn furniture on the patio. (I have a great picture). Along with all of these problems, the kitchen and the glass patio doors were SO FILTHY that we had to go out and buy cleaning supplies to wash the doors and cabinets in the kitchen before we would consider putting our food in the cabinets or enjoying the patio. Because it was LABOR DAY WEEKEND, we were not able to talk to the management the day that we arrived. So we enjoyed St Augustine as best we could, but a few days before we left, we spoke to Anne, the manager of the Ocean Gallery. We were very unsatisfied with her response...that is the main reason I wanted to let other renters know that this company is ONLY interested in getting your money but not in keeping you happy! It should be the responsibility of the rental company to check our each unit BEFORE it is rented! The renter should not have to bring such a long list to the management while they are trying to enjoy their one-week beach vacation! This is NOT THE TRUE GEM that I always look for and I would say RENTERS BEWARE OF THE OCEAN GALLERY!! It is NOT MANAGED WELL!!!

Ernie had his Cancer surgery in his face a year ago and his birthday month as well. So, Kimberly was the one and only one to respond almost immediately. I told her my needs, wants and concerns. She worked with me effortlessly. Poof! We made the date and off we headed to her BNB. Ernie was surprised and happy. That was my goal. I'd like to share a little history of this beautiful home: This magnificent oceanfront home was built in 1914 by Louise Wise Lewis Frances, the niece, and heir to the Henry Flagler fortune. When this house was built it was a social gathering place and still is to this day. From the pinewood floors to the beautiful antique hand-carved mantel around the fireplace, this house retains the elegance of a bygone era. The warmth and hospitality of Kimberly the Innkeeper is beyond compare. You'll feel welcome the moment you arrive and you'll be making plans to return before you leave. Kimberly cooked a wonderful breakfast for us two days in a row. She seemed to really be happy and good with what she does. Thank you again Kimberly. Ernie and I will see you again. Pros: There are three levels of rooms to choose from. Everything was comfy and clean. Great breakfast. Right on the beach. Restaurants in walking distance. Friendly Innkeeper(Kimberly). Cons: Parking can be tight, but doable. Stairs are hard to climb. We got used to them after a few times. Check her place out soon! PS: I forgot to leave the key to our room. I discovered it when I got home. Kimberly was so understanding about the mishap. I mailed the key the very next day. It all worked out ok.

We were steps from the beach which was perfect for us. We were a short drive across the Bridge of Lions to get to St. Augustine and St. George St. We were also not far from Vilano Beach. Everything was convenient for us. Our bed was comfortable in the Safari room. It was the pet friendly room so we had our own patio and it lead to the back yard. The bathroom to us seemed like it was bigger than the bedroom though, but it makes sense, they put a wall in the room to separate the bedroom and the bathroom. It made the bed kind of narrow when walking to get to the bathroom. From reading up on the history of the House of Sea and Sun, we found that our room was said to be haunted, and people would wake up to hear dancing and music. This is where they would dance back in the day. This house was built for one of Henry Flagler's family members. They said it was completed around 1914. There are 6 bedrooms in this home. It was nice to get to see all of them before I left. You can tell they nicely kept the old character of this home. Our breakfast was alright the first day, and got better the next day. They had pancakes, eggs, and ham, danishes, orange juice, and coffee to name a few. They also have an afternoon snack of crackers and cheese, and fruit as well as wine if you let them know in advance. It was definitely a relaxing nice stay. Since they are dog friendly, they also have 3 resident pomeranians. It definitely makes for an even more fun stay since our shihtzu Mocha Coconut can play with them once he is got use to them.

We stayed in Unit 8216. I am giving this unit a 2 because it is listed as a premier unit when it is…read morereally only a classic unit at best. The only thing that could possibly make it premier is the granite countertops and new cabients. Everything else is old and dated. Other people in our party stayed in other premier units that were so much nicer. The front bedroom blinds are broken, and we had to put up a sheet to keep out light at night. It still wasn't very dark. The oven door is slightly open when closed, so it's hard to bake anything. The kitchen tools and supplies are very outdated and of poor quality and mismatched. There were two coffee makers - an old one and a brand new one on the counter top -- I had to put one in a closet to get it out of the way. The closets are full of old stuff, so there's not much room for stuff like suitcaeses, etc. The blender is cracking so we could not use it. The sheets and towels are of very poor quality. The television in the front bedroom is tiny and we could never get it to work. All of the batteries were dead in the remotes, so we had to go buy some and replace them. Everything is limited -- one garbage bag, one small roll of toliet paper, and super cheap salt and pepper shaker. Most Airbnbs have the basic supplies to at least get you through the first couple of days. This one did not. If this had been labeled as a "classic" unit and was at that price point, I would have given it a 4. The unit itself could be very nice, but the owners would have to invest a little bit of money. The view is wonderful from the balcony, but the furniture is quite cheap and way to crowded. I would not recommend anyone renting this until until either it is reclassified as a classic unit and the price is lowered or until the owner brings it up to par with the premier units. The rest of the property is very nice, and the beach in this area is fantastic.
