We saw reviews from another app and they were 3.8 stars. The place is definitely is outdated and in need of maintenance. The exterior is overall dirty. The interior rooms are clean with no smells however the plumbing fixtures have built up salt and rust. Someone tried to refinish the sink but it was an amateur job at best which speaks to the quality of workers they are willing to hire. Sheets, pillow cases and towels were clean. Unfortunately when I woke up to use the bathroom there was a roach crawling around the sink. Looking at the number of cars in the parking lot the place stays pretty busy so there is no excuse for not taking some of the profits and interjecting back into the property. We have stayed at other Quality Inns so we were disappointed with the condition of this place. Until they clean up the place I would not recommend. read more

The hotel doesn't look like it's been updated in 30 years. The bathroom doors won't even close, the pool stair broke when getting out of the pool and we were blamed for breaking it, and wanted us to pay for it. The pool is nice, but amenities are extremely outdated. Out at the pool at 9pm on a Friday and front desk said I hey we're getting noise complaints. Do not stay here! As if the roach infested room weren't enough, the manager didn't ask to see the video of the roaches I reported. The hotel staff was loud, banging equipment around early in the morning. Now comes the worst part: Shortly after checking in, I went to lunch for about 45 minutes. When I returned, someone had clearly been in my room. The tv was off and the remote had been placed in an odd spot, the hair dryer was plugged back in, my bag had been gone through, the laminated map of the building was across the room on the floor, someone has clearly sat on the bed, and my $25 charger was missing. I always leave the tv on when leaving a hotel room, I had unplugged the hairdryer and plugged in my charger, my bag was in disarray, the bed had not been touched when I left, and I left the charger by the bathroom sink. I called the front desk immediately, not asking for a refund, but just wanting to know what happened. I waited one hour with no viable answers except I was making it up. So, I called the police and they finally arrived. The cop was professional and courteous, but also thought no one was in there and I a must have misplaced my charger. They did offer a refund and I could find another hotel. I had traveled to St Augustine to attend a concert that started in 45 minutes and all the hotels were sold out. I didn't have much of a choice, so I stayed and spoke with the manager the next morning when checking out. That went absolutely nowhere and she said I couldn't be reimbursed for my loss because I booked it through a 3rd party website. Then how were they going to give me a full refund if I left? I would not stay here again. We went to our first room and it smelled like wet dog, the sheets had animal hair on them along with what looked like snot, and the sink was obviously refinished as a DIY project and it was terrible. Called the front desk to get another room. Go to second room and it didn't smell as much, but the sheets were clean. The sink again was a DIY project, the coat rack was rusted to the point that you couldn't put anything on it and the mirror was so damaged there was not one clear space on it. Absolutely the filthiest hotel I've ever been in. I took a shower and by the time I'd walked across the floor to dress, my feet were filthy. The shower, by the way, had no water pressure. The "kitchen" consisted of a dirty microwave and fridge, some plywood shelves knocked together by a toddler with a hammer and a pen MELTED and fused to the counter top. Old Town Trolley Tour shuttle bus used to come here as their last stop before heading back to the old city. The owner of this hotel stated he was going to remodel the entrance to make room for the new larger bus. Instead of doing anything, he had an attitude toward the Old Town Trolley. Now, they have canceled this hotel and the Island Inn from their route. You now need to walk up 3 blocks to Guy Harvey Resort and wIt on the bus. 1 jerk causes headaches for many. This is where we're been staying while visiting Florida with cheap ass Skybus tickets. While it's nothing fancy, it fits the needs. Close to the beach? Oh, yeah! Close to downtown. Moderately. Close to the only Starbucks? It's right down the block. St. Augustine is severely lacking in having any decent resorts (the only one is a golf resort) and we ended up getting a really cheap deal via Priceline for this location. It's been well worth it. It looks as if it has been recently "updated", because "renovated" isn't the correct word. The bedding all looks really new, the bathroom has a fresh coat of paint, and everything functions really well. The pool is really simple, and the hot tub perfectly warm. While not having any really negative interactions with the staff, I'd hardly consider the customer service great, or even really good. The continental breakfast is decent, and the coffee was really fresh. I'd stay here again if the price was right, but I do like slightly more luxurious accommodations. read more

I booked this location for 6 nights. We checked out after 3. We killed a bug. (Roach) The grounds are very icky-dirty and unkept. Garbage overflowing for more than a few days in the parking lot can. The whole place needs power washing. New paint is a mask. There were piles of cigarette butts left. It all looks OK from google earth or just driving by, but it is not. The hotel was run down from the outside and inside. Outside the paint was falling off, pool wasn't serviced, and the landscaping was overgrown. The lighting was poor and not enough parking. On the inside the decor was very dated, the room door wouldn't shut or lock without slamming the door really hard. The floor was very dirty leaving socks and bare feet black within minutes, this included the bathroom tiles. There was spill marks down the walls from previous guests, even mold growing in the refrigerator. The breakfast area didn't have adequate seating for the guests many people had to stand or sit in the front lobby area. We originally booked for two reservations on separate weeks, each for 5 nights. Ended up staying only 2 nights and cancelling the second reservation. Also, had other family members cancel their reservations at the same location. The closest restaurants and shopping is 2 miles away and the beach access isn't what they advertised. The surrounding hotels have private access to the water that you have to pay for unless you walk down to 312. read more

Just to be sure, I tore the room apart looking everywhere in case I was mistaken. Bags, closet, bathroom, under beds, under sofa, in the bed sheets, trash cans, in my vehicle....STOLEN. Management was absolutely no help and cared little as he told me all his people had been with him for 10+ years (the 2 girls he asked about seeing a watch were 22/25 years old - what? They'd been with him since they were 12?? Lies). Police told me later that that particular hotel contracts out the maid service. So since they're not hired by Quality Inn, those particular maids may only show up once or twice a week or less. Hmm, they've "been with you 10 years"?? When I informed him that I was going to file a police report he was panicked and indignant. "I have no one here who steals - we turn everything in that's found - we ship it to you UPS - there's no need for police...blah, blah, blah.... All lies because the Officer who came and took my report said straight-up, "This is the #1 hotel we have the most complaints from and have to come to". Wish I'd known that little tidbit before booking. I will sleep on a park bench before I stay at this dump again. DO NOT STAY HERE - SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! Ok, so it might be a little cheaper than some of the other places astound the area and you may not "require" much to make you happy when it comes to your choice in hotels. However, my boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and after the first day of the maids coming in to clean the room, we discovered his nice, silver watch had been stolen along with LG Bluetooth headset. Not only was it stolen, but it was taken OUT OF HIS BAG where he hid it before we left that morning for the beach. It's bad enough when something of yours is stolen, but knowing your personal belongings have been looked through by strangers is disturbing. Management was notified and his aloof and flippant attitude was disrespectful, especially after he told us, "it could have just fallen in the trash," after we knew he had hidden them in his bag before we left. You might be saving a few bucks by staying here but you're not saving yourself. Spend the extra money on a nicer hotel with better standards. read more

The first room they gave us hadn't been cleaned and once we saw it we decided not to stay here and expose our young children to this place. The managers could care less and similarly to other reviews, just get offended that you complained and tell you that you might as well stay because you purchased a non-refundable room. The manager could not believe that I would rather forfeit my $100 than stay here and I told her that I would rather sleep in my car at a rest stop then here. Also, she couldn't check me out until the next day in her system, so I got no record that I was officially checked out and wouldn't be surprised if I got charged an incidental fee for a room I never even stepped in to. I called the next morning to verify that I had in fact been checked out. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! In fact, DO NOT STAY ANYWHERE at St. Augustine Beach that is less than 3 stars. The mattresses them self was like sleeping on rocks with springs sticking out. Two nights back to back other guest slamming doors screaming and cussing all night long. Do you feel sad, alienated from everyone, like living in dirt, and getting robbed without a gun, then choose this quality inn. Jokes aside, I'm impressed they even allow people to stay there. We went there for a two day stay. We brought our dog and since it was a pet friendly location we decided to stay. The floor was dirty, the sheets had hairs (dog and human) and not ours. The bathroom was dirty and overall it had a mildew stench. I feel like they should had paid us to stay. The breakfast was ok, it's pretty much the same for all the bed and breakfast inn's in the area. In all honesty if you are looking for a comfortable and clean place this ain't it. People are rude, and dirty. I'm so glad I brought my sandals because I didn't even dared to put my feet on the floor. SAVE YOUR MONEY! And go someplace else! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is a shit hole. We came with our dog and they're pet-friendly. If it wasn't so late, I wouldn't have stayed. The grounds are not kept up, the rooms are old and filthy and the breakfast is a joke. We came across a used tampon on the ground on the way up to our room and thousands and thousands of cigarette butts strewn around the property. The inside of the room was gross. Dirty, rusty fixtures, torn lampshades, stains on the sheets, dirty bathroom. My husband and I slept in our clothes and put our beach towels, which we brought from home, across the pillows. We had no service on our phones the entire time we were there even though it says free wi-fi. It is not directly on the beach, like it states on the website. The beach is across the street. The garbage truck came at 7:00 a.m. and was very loud. The breakfast was Belgium waffles, salty egg patties and sausage patties. No fruit or yogurt. I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. This place should be condemned and the management should be ashamed of themselves. My husband complained to the front office staff about the condition of the grounds and room. He was nice about it but I'm sure nothing will be done. Never, ever again. We ended up driving into St. Augustine for the rest of our trip and staying at the Southern Oaks Inn which was a delight! read more

Worst hotel experience of my life. Booked for 3 nights for a 3-night concert run. The first night we got back to the hotel none of our keys worked so they gave me a new one which also deactivated the rest of the keys which also didn't tell me, so we got locked out again and had to go get more keys. They night desk manager was extremely rude like I was supposed to know this. The first day the room was not serviced at all after asking for it. After coming home the 2nd night, again, keys didn't work. This time the same night desk person was down right nasty. Blaming me for the bad keys because "you can't put it near your phone". Third night, again 2 bad keys. He reactivated one, and asked us to leave. Went to bed. 1/2 hour later sheriff shows up and evicts us. No reason given except the manager wants us gone. Mind you, my 11 year old daughter and wife are sleeping. We packed a left. I stopped the charge immediately. If I could give it zero stars I would. read more

Wish I could give them no stars. Pulling in the place wasn't new but seemed ok when we walked in the room. Everything seemed ok until we went to shower. The whole faucet fell off when we pulled the tab to change it to shower!!!! They then gave us keys to another room just to shower. That place had lights flickering the whole time we showered. So finally went to go to sleep and the fan motor for the AC sounded like it was going to just give up at any second. The people in the office were friendly but we weren't even offered ANY compensation or refund for the fact that we had zero shower. I've stayed in A LOT of hotels around the country and in a lot of places that were lower end. I would never stay here again or recommend anyone to stay there until they did a complete renovation.
