And " there's no point to alter the strap because your foot will slide." When I handed over the shoe, they were still strapped together. I had offered to help him undo the strap, and he decided to look at me and go "What" with a rude demeanor. He then punched a hole into the strap, not listening to where I wanted. When he handed it back to me to try it on for sizing. I realized that it wouldn't slide anymore because he ripped the inside of the strap. I handed it back to him so he could fix it and instead he decided to cut it more and add another hole. The right shoe now has more holes than the left. When me and my mom were talking he kept saying that the right shoe would need another hole and decided to just punch it in without my knowledge. I didn't think he would do something without my okay, but that was furthest from the truth. He not only didn't apologize for the damages he caused. The whole time that I was in there he seemed very inconvenienced and it felt very rushed. I could tell he just wanted to do it as fast as possible so we would leave him alone. He could have told us that he didn't have time and to either make an appointment or come back later. I am happy I wasn't charged, but he caused damages that I will never be able to fix without having to redo the whole strap. I wouldn't be able to buy this shoe again because they no longer make them. Although the damage may be small to the inside it was more the fact he wasn't kind from the beginning and I never got an apology from his mistakes. I understand that he has done this for a long time and knows what he is talking about however he took what I said and completely disregarded it and chose to do whatever he wanted.

1.Finding a master craftsman who actually respects your time and your wallet is like finding a…read moreneedle in a haystack, but this shop is the real deal. Most places tell you to leave your shoes for a week and charge you a fortune, but this business operates on a different level. He provides an "outstanding" result with a same-day service that is almost unheard of in this day and age. 2. The "while-you-wait" experience is a total game-changer. You walk in with a pair of boots that look like they belong in the bin--soles peeling, heels ground down to the nub--and you sit down for a few minutes while the magic happens. There's no fancy waiting room, just the honest smell of leather and the sound of machines bringing your footwear back to life right in front of your eyes. 3. What really stands out is the precision. Even though he's working fast to get you back on the street, he doesn't cut corners. He handles the sanding, the gluing, and the stitching with a level of detail that makes the shoes look better than they did the day they came out of the box. He's a surgeon with a hammer, and his "vision" for what a shoe can be is truly impressive. 4. For someone who is "broke" or just trying to be smart with their money, this shop is a financial blessing. He understands that a good pair of shoes is an investment you can't afford to lose. Instead of forcing you to buy a cheap new pair that will fall apart in a month, he gives your quality shoes a second life for a fraction of the cost. 5. Ultimately, it's about the "Vision" of the business: high-speed, high-quality, and high-integrity. You walk out with a fresh shine and a solid grip on the pavement, feeling like a million bucks without having spent it. If you need your shoes fixed right and you need them fixed now, don't go anywhere else. This man is a local legend.

I should have searched here first before I brought in my well loved, beloved, well worn hiking…read moreboots. The heel had started to disintegrate and the sole stitching somewhat broken. An internet search wielded this place as a master boot repairer (NOT!). The boots were womens and what he did was repurpose a man's replacement on to them. Not only are they SO much heavier now (if any of you are hikers you will understand) and the heel is off center and higher to than it was. Admire the crappy workmanship handiwork repair in the pictures. Like others here I went in the following week when he said they would be ready and he had not even started on them. He made me pay upfront and in hindsight I believe he knew that he was not going to repair them accordingly. Loss of time and money and ruined my beloved boots. No stars if I could but needed 1 to post. Don't go here, it's really not worth it. Now I have to find new hiking boots and break them in after spending $70 here for nothing.

When I called to dispute the quality of repair, he was very defensive and said "Ecco shoes are very bad shoes". Then why did he have me photograph them and email the pictures to him to decide whether he could effect repair ahead of time? Steer clear of this jokester. He takes no pride in his work!

This review is based on my drop off experience only. I expect, based on reviews, to get the same…read moreexcellent service after the repair as I did describing what I needed done. I brought in two pairs of booties, one needing a rubber tap placed over the plastic heel that makes a reached when I walk. I asked the cost and was very satisfied (this used to cost $5 in the '80's when there were at least 3 cobblers - that's what we used to call "shoe repair" shops - within 3 blocks of my downtown Boston office. It id more expensive now, but a very fair price all these years later). My second pair was Dr Martens boots that I've worn down enough that they're dangerously slippery. After looking closely, the suggestion was to remove and replace the whole sole. That was expensive, about 1/2 the price of a new pair. So, we kept talking. and Ron suggested filing down the front of the sole slightly to create a bit more traction, and replacing only the back quarter at the heel, since that tread is fully worn away. That should be only about 1/3-1/2 the price - and it's a great compromise! Also, if that doesn't solve the problem we can still replace the rest of the bottom. This was a thoughtful resolution, and genuine customer service: let's address the problem in a cost effective way.
